I've noticed some hard drives have a thin metal sheet covering them as well. What is this sheet called and is it necessary if your laptop had one to begin with (I'm talking about a Lenovo ThinkPad and the metal sheet is lost)?

Thanks for the video but at 1:11 it's a bad idea to use a cutter like that. It could slip and cut your hand. Better put the hard disk case first on the table and then cut the cover.

my hold lenovo g700 broke when my kid spilt tea on it ,it wont power up ive stripped it down cleaned it nothing happening ,i was just going to buy a second hand lenovo ,was wondering can i take my old hard drive out and put it in the new one ,swapping them over will be easy enough is that all i need to do, will my old info like movies and music work on the new lenovo
