I watched a cartoon version (one of those old 1960s-70s French cartoons dubbed into English) of Bluebeard's wife as a 7 year old and it damn near traumatized me.
this is such an unexplored type of style in kpop, honestly i would love for any group to make a whole project like this, might be the best kpop song ive heard this year so far its so addicting
kpop is starting to branch out with dnb, the samples in that back is what dnb is even known for and i’m loving it. don’t get confused with dnb and break core. break core is made by a shit load of amen break and less of the dnb. while dnb focuses on the drum and bass rather than amen breaks

Because of this, humans committed the first sin, and they were cast out of the garden of Eden. Psyche, in Greek mythology, was a mortal girl whose beauty was rivaled by only Aphrodite. Cupid, god of love, fell in love with her, and took her away to his castle. When she arrived, she was told that Cupid is her husband. However, she could only be with Cupid at night when she couldn’t see his face. After a time, she started to miss her family. She asked to see her sisters, but little did she know, they were jealous of her marrying a god. So when she told them about how she was sad that she couldn’t see her husbands face, they gave her a candle and convinced her to look up on his face, hoping she’d be caught and Cupid would marry one of them instead. When she used the candle to look at her love, hot wax dripped on his cheek and woke him up. When he realized that she did what was forbidden, he left. Psyche then traveled a long distance to find Aphrodite (Cupid’s mother who frowned upon their union) and beg for forgiveness. In order to get this forgiveness, she had to complete impossible tasks. There was a happy ending, though, as she became a goddess herself, the goddess of the soul, and married Cupid, and they basically lived happily ever after. The Bluebeard’s wife refers to any woman married to a man that kills his wives, usually many. The story of the Bluebeard’s wife is that there was one room in her husband’s mansion that she was not allowed to enter. However, curiosity got the better of her, and she open the door. Behind the door were the corpses of the Bluebeard’s previous wives. Because she did what was forbidden, she was able to escape.

In case anyone is confused about he title of the song here’s a bit of an explanation. All the women in the title’s name (Eve, Pysche, and Bluebeard’s Wife) did something “wrong” or “forbidden”. The girls are saying that they too are going to go against what others tell them to do and do what’s “forbidden” to them regardless of other people’s opinions. Eve: God forbade Adam and Eve from eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge and Eve was tempted by the serpent. Her curiosity got the better of her and she ate it anyways, receiving the forbidden knowledge but in turn was kicked out of heaven. Psyche: Greek Mythology, Her beauty was said to rival that of the Goddess Aphrodite which enraged the Goddess and invoked her wrath upon Psyche. She sent out her son Eros (aka Cupid) to punish Psyche by making her fall in love with ugliest thing possible except Eros also ends up falling for Psyche. (More happens but the story is too long so I’ll shorten it some but look it up it’s super good!) She’s told that she can never look upon her husbands face (Eros) that it’s forbidden (she doesn’t know he’s a god). She is curious and wants to know if the man she is married to is a monster like her prophecy foretold so she goes to her husbands room with a candle (to see his face while he’s sleeping) and a knife (in case he’s a monster). The candle wax melts and some lands on Eros’s face waking him up to see Psyche above him with a knife and he sees she’s done what he forbade her from doing (seeing his face). More stuff happens but yah she did what she was forbidden from doing (she gets a happy ending though!) Bluebeard’s Wife: This means any man who kills his wives. The story goes that Bluebeard had a wife and he told her that one of the rooms in the house was off limits and it was forbidden for her to enter that room. One day his wife decides to look in the room against her husband’s order only to see the dead bodies of his previous wives. Her curiosity and her doing what was forbidden saved her life and she was able to escape before Bluebeard could also kill her like his past wives. (Hope this somewhat helps, I know it’s quite the read!!)
