A thickness sander. Now that's an idea! Really good report. Don't stop!

A couple of years ago, I bought both of the "Table Featherboards" ... the bigger Table Featherboard and the smaller bi-directional version. To keep them within easy reach, they are always stuck to the front of my cabinet saw and I use them almost as often as I use my table saw. On my SawStop, the smaller bi-directional version needs to be used any time I'm doing a final-dimension/trim cut (where the left edge of the board will be within about a half-inch of the blade). This is because the distance from the blade to the miter slot coincides with the placement of the magnets on the bigger/stronger Table Featherboard, and the absence of table surface prevents that Featherboard from bonding to the table. Not a problem - I know to grab the smaller bi-directional featherboard in this situation. The only problem with this, however, is when pushing a long piece of stock through the saw ... it's more prone to move away from the fence ... and the smaller bi-directional featherboard only uses the 90lb magnets, which are not nearly as strong as the bigger 150 lb. magnets, and the featherboard has the propensity to shift on the table if one isn't extremely careful. That said, it is still an indispensable safety item in holding stock against the fence. Bottom line: I love these products and THIS VIDEO made me want to purchase the complete line of MagSwitch products! Thanks for a well-done demo of the entire product line! Sincerely, Rich

I really like the idea of using it for jointing edges.

I will be getting the MagSwitch resaw jig, did not know they made such a product. I have the feather board, and absolutely love it.

I just started using the Magswitch system but I find you need a separate base for each attachment due to the 4 cap mounting screws that attach the unit to the base. I find it’s too much trouble removing the screws each time to change the attachment especially the 18” fence plus you gonna loose the screws but this I find is never mentioned

Why is Al Gore doing the voice over for this guy? Just kidding. Does sound like him though. I just trust this guy more.

I don't understand the purpose of the "Pro" model. Why would you get that instead of the universal base model?

I'd love to have this for wide plywood cuts, sadly my table saw is not cast iron and wouldn't work.
Also, isn't counter-productive to use a fetherboard that pushes down on the right side of a jointer (before the blade)? If the stock is not flat it will copy it's defects which is the opposite of what you normally do with a jointer.

+Gabriele Bonetti You could use the featherboard to push against the fence once the edge has been jointed. Assuming the other side is "smooth" enough to be consistent.

This system is simple overpriced. I've been using magnet lock dows for 50 years in machine shops its only now these are available for use in the wood working shop. Why do Manufacturers think woodworkers are made of money?

Make it wooden with the help of the Woodprix instructions.

Ummm yeah you wouldn't want the featherboard on the indeed side of your jointer.
