O’Grady’s Bridge Wairewa Road Trestle Remains | East Gippsland Rail Trail Site | Pics Tour

A big orange tourist sign should be enough to think it will not bad to visit but this was a great surprise to drive up to. Half a trestle bridge going over Wairewa Road just before Wairewa on the East Gippsland Rail Trail.
We did have to search up why only half still stands, in 2020 the portion missing was lost to fire but they have used the still beam to create a carpark barrier.
Not a lot of information on the ground but it is well looked after and great for a visit and look around.

I think the cost to upkeep it was too high, so when it burnt down I don’t think it was going to get the funding to restore.
