Every winter I start more common milkweed from seed in my grow room. I love the fragrance, along with all the biology milkweed draws into my garden.
    Stay Well!!!!
Used to be stationed at Fort Bragg, Loved NC.

Thanks for this! I live adjacent to a lake in the Fayetteville area and I’m working to create an urban wildlife habitat and Monarch highway pit stop. I already knew that the milkweed was a monarch exclusive and was googling native species when I came across this on your site! Thanks and wish me luck! 😉

I hope someone can answer my question becuase I'm on the fence about milkweed. I have a nice natural area in my backyard that I thought about throwing some milkweed seedsbout in so I can attract monarchs and any other beneficial insects, particularly bees, humming birds, dragonflies, etc. However, my vegetable garden is about 50-70 feet from this area and I'd prefer the bugs stay at the milkweed than on my veggie plants. I grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and occasionally squash. Will these vital insects stay on the milkweed?
