5.50 - Richard Hill's class - ball bounces up from his toe and is in Barnes hand so quickly!! Saw him at the Rec. against Dewi Morris when he took the ball through Dewi's legs and dot it down for a try. So quick.
As Max Boyce always said 'I was there', wilting in the heat of a scorching hot day. My abiding memory, apart from the hiding Gloucester took, was seeing hundreds of Gloucester fans milling around at the M4 services near Swindon and many of the younger ones looking a complete mess as the paint from the cherry and white stripes on their faces, ran down their shirts and bare tops! It was the early days of face painting and it clearly wasn't able to withstand the intense heat from sitting onboard poorly air conditioned coaches!
club... apart from Cornwall. A county with no clubs in the first class competition: they were fanatical about going to London and winning the county championship.
Mike teague was very unlucky that year ...Lost the grand slam/ triple crown to Scotland after England played some great stuff that year .Then wasps pipped Gloucester to the league ....Then this arse whooping By there biggest rivals ...
Fantastic individual try by the Bath no.7!
