There is a hurricane coming toward California so we need to keep an eye on that. I fermented some carrots last night. It is the first time I have fermented. I love the Books of I and II Peter. When my 6 year old nephew passed away from leukemia it is what got me thru, I felt strength from those 2 books.

Glad to hear you are not in danger from the fire on Hwy 20. Has planned a trip over it right after Labor day, might not be possible. Hear you on the heat, has been well over the 100 degree mark all week here in the Yakima Valley. Too warm for folks to can so vegetable sales has slowed, sure don't blame them one bit.
Take care and stay safe, over there on the West side.

Sorry you are dealing with the heat. Here in Tennessee we have had several days of low 80s and low 60s (even 50s) at night. Nice and 'cool' for us in August. I'm sure the jet stream will move soon and help you out.

It has been so hot I haven't done any canning, and Flys are so bad outside I have not even tried canning outside. I hope to get a break soon.
