@@growlie2676 That’s called Cosmic horror. Godzilla we know, that has fully and completely evolved, it is something now very much larger than our human minds could ever comprehend. What I really like about Shin Godzilla is that he’s the first Godzilla to actually live up to his name. A real god. Not like the others who are called a god just by name
thats why he is called shin... the true godzilla!! 😁 even that bit about the og creator wanted something similar to what we got in the movie seals the approval.

Even I can say that its abit ridiculous, and abit irrelevant to the movies' message in the end. But what else could you expect from the guy from Evangelion, series is wild...
I’m personally more interested in the unmade 1994 Godzilla vs the gryphon movie that was eventually turned into the 1998 Godzilla. That one had a very cool Godzilla design that was a good mix of being faithful to the Toho movies while also a whole new design. As for the gryphon, he was also a pretty cool looking monster that was unfortunately scrapped, but maybe one of the kotm titans will be an homage to the gryphon?
I do like that unmade movie. I liked how godzilla's origins are sorta similar to the origins of heisei gamera and I like how the gryphon was a shape-shifting alien as well. As for the design it was decent but the face looked too tyrannosaurus like and less like godzilla in some areas. It's just a shame roland (who wasn't a fan) didn't understand why this ummade movie stays true to godzilla and what he made instead was the worst interpretation of godzilla
The name of the Director is Hideaki Anno, the real mastermind of Evangelion Note: this movie was codirected by Shinji Higuchi and he has also worked on Evangelion, so the writer is not wrong either
Now that I've taken the moment to calm down and process all this, the director was essentially going to go full Neon Genesis Evangelion with Shin Godzilla wasn't he?
No one: Literally No one: Me: So you're telling me our universe could've been formed from a fricking laser lizard. Edit: I like how my comment gets more likes than the guy who actually made the video. lol
i think this concept of shin becoming god is the most epic idea i ever heard for a godzilla movie and i sad they couldn't try that idea since just how mind blowing it is
true, but also a relife, imagine how many people cuold be traumatised XD, nha just kidding but hey maybe that concept would be use it in the secual or in other artistic expresion in the future, who knows..
Personally this unpublished concept is deeply delusional, aberrant, impressive and wonderfully spiritual that it deserves to be published in some comic / manga / short film or something like that. It's intriguing, fascinating, and unsettling is the ideology of the expansive, all-consuming self, that it just all vanishes in a snap. Thank you for sharing this unpublished story and hopefully they will soon give a new godzilla film
Why not just go in on a fully animated Godzilla Earth story where Godzilla is found to have evolved over the course of several hundreds of years and comes out of retirement to battle to kill Void Ghidorah and other mutant monsters, and help get the last few remaining Former Earthlings, from several generations past, out of there.
Money no object, if Ishiro Honda was still alive, he'd love the idea. I second the motion. In my opinion, Gojira is already a nightmarish being. However, subsequent films following the 1954 original became severely toned down due to Gojira's constant "defense" of the planet from other kaiju. The way I see Gojira, the being is way more than Lovecraftian, and that's what I liked most about Shin Godzilla.
This is an intriguing concept to me. Yes, certainly a bit more Lovecraftian than my usual fare, but I could see how the concept could be taken to its extremes. I think that this type of concept is something that could truly flourish under the capabilities of the media of Anime, and that would be the way to truly capture some of the vivid imagery and actions that would be taken in such a truly strange, yet fascinating film.
@Sosei 93 Yeah, but it’s actually more morphed into what we call Cosmic Horror. Something I’ve tried to get my parents into but it’s hard to find anything like that there that’s actually well done. We don’t know or need to know what the monsters look like all the time. It’s hard sometimes for filmmakers to not show them monsters. But if it’s done well, with the right script, director, and cast, it can be pulled off. A good example of this would be Annihilation.
@@evenhartwick4422 I’ve been wanting to see someone do something with the Godzilla Earth universe and really expand on that. Let’s get it to be that there’s some higher-evolved Rodan and Mothra out there that secretly aid Godzill.
My god , this isn't possible without multiple movies, without dedication & investment like d MCU. I guess we're unfortunate such movies can never be made.
really i think this could have made a nice 20 to 30 minute short film out of this and actually attached it to the film as an alternate ending. i don't think a lot of this stuff needs to be heavily elaborated on, once he's like in his 5th form surely there are no humans left on earth to keep the plot extended so you would just need to see Godzilla mutate a few more times until it just becomes galaxy nonsense but that type of CGI is really simple to animate this video practically shows what a good chunk of this film would look like after the concept art runs out. like you can't make a 2 hour film out of godzilla continuing to expand as a universe.
Very interesting and well put together. I was kinda familiar with the concept work but had no idea the extent to which the themes would be taken. I wonder if some of them may yet turn up in a possible Shin II.
@@josetolentino3965 true, daily dose of Internet said they did it just for fun Yeah of course you build a giant warrior robot just for fun and not as preparation for something
My mind literally crumbled into dust when watching this video, I've never seen such an unbelievable study in my life. This concept surpasses all knowledge in this world and beyond that
This was in my opinion the best Godzilla film ever. The camera angles really emphasize the massive scale of Godzilla, also his first few forms are creepy as hell, truly terrifying.
He did more than retaliate, he also regenerated his dorsal spine and they figured out he can do that later in the film. But based on the scene of Godzilla charging his radiation, his dorsal spine they blew off was fully restored which means he regenerated instantly after he was damaged. And due to the fact that his body parts can regenerate and become independent even from the tiniest fragments, he can never die.
"So you want to head to the store and buy the new Shin Godzilla figure?" "Sure, what it called." "The almighty universe god Godzilla." "....I'm sorry but WHAT"
@joshua ashley its unkown so far. Research says hes a dinosaur thats been mutated. But that couldve been for 1954. What we do know is that he was AWOKENED by Castle Bravo.
Scooby-Doo Music of the Vampire: Shaggy “Like that is one elaborate plot.” Mr. Van Helsing “And I would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for you meddling...!” Cop cuts him off “Lets go Van Helsing.”
possibly your best video yet ! you raise a lot of questions and theories about the direct concept of what Toho had in mind. i for one loved this, and how much more intriguing this is compared to the original movie. i still love Toho Godzilla over the american version, both are fantastic, but the Toho version has so much mystery and darkness to it. thanks for this.
What so you think of this insane idea, residents? Would you like to see it brought to life?

No, its more like an ant trying to take down an argentinosaurus.
Even I can say that its abit ridiculous, and abit irrelevant to the movies' message in the end.
But what else could you expect from the guy from Evangelion, series is wild...
I like the idea of this lovecraftion type evolution
Video in a nutshell: "talking about a lizard monster to a neil degrasse tyson's take on it"
I’m personally more interested in the unmade 1994 Godzilla vs the gryphon movie that was eventually turned into the 1998 Godzilla.
KaijusaurusG2K i do agree the unmade 1994 would be a very intresting idea but it was made into something everone wish was never made

“Godzilla was defeated by a committee, so he would become a committee”
0:55 - Godzilla looks like a maniac in this moment.
@joshua ashley from the darkest depths of human soul.
Another cinematic masterpiece. Great job!
There actually was a 3...(4?) part Godzilla anime that took a lot of these ideas. It was an absolutely amazing miniseries.
i feel like godzilla only scratched the surface of what can be done with him in animation its the one medium where he can be truly limitless
Let’s get it to be that there’s some higher-evolved Rodan and Mothra out there that secretly aid Godzill.

really i think this could have made a nice 20 to 30 minute short film out of this and actually attached it to the film as an alternate ending. i don't think a lot of this stuff needs to be heavily elaborated on, once he's like in his 5th form surely there are no humans left on earth to keep the plot extended so you would just need to see Godzilla mutate a few more times until it just becomes galaxy nonsense but that type of CGI is really simple to animate this video practically shows what a good chunk of this film would look like after the concept art runs out. like you can't make a 2 hour film out of godzilla continuing to expand as a universe.
Legendary ruined that for us. Such a damn shame
I freaking LOVE the idea of our universe being created like this.
Instead of not adding this concept to the movie he should put it as a comic book. It's amazing yet terrifying.
It'd be "amazing" but it'd be quite ridiculous.
Very interesting and well put together. I was kinda familiar with the concept work but had no idea the extent to which the themes would be taken. I wonder if some of them may yet turn up in a possible Shin II.

He also *didnt* find pleasure in destroying Japan. He was in pain ever moment he was alive.
