I swear, the 50's sci-fi aesthetic is so awesome to look at!
Loved this flick!!! (When I was 12 years old!). Still good to reminisce.
This trailer is Genius, the narrator deserved an Academy Award.
.."Only you and your women can
Save Us!!...
Loved this film when it came out. Especially the markolites. Seems like I remember crying as a kid when one got destroyed.
this is a classic most people never heard of ! Its got cool military style music during the battle scenes.
M.O.G.U.E.R.A. Brought me here.
For its time, the special effects were quite good in this one. The Japanese made some cool movies; unusual and very soulful in their own way.
It was a good special effects movie, and the music was amazing. The final battle against the dome using mobile markalite ray guns was absolutely epic. And I liked how they showed them developing weapons for the attack.
"Love-hungry spacemen come to seize our women that their dying race may live!" LOL!
I saw this movie when it came out. It was a really good movie. Some sci-fi book had most of a chapter about this movie.
I rented it when it came out on dvd. It wasn't the movie I remembered... Less engaging than when I was 10. The effects have improved a bit in 55 years... Still, it's worth seeing. The 10yo inside you wants you to rent it!
But wow, the trailer really plays on the sex angle!
MegaForce had the same effect......coolest thing ever when it was new, utter crap now, so incredibly laughable.
I'm a Svengoolie fan myself. I loved watching him every Saturday night. Too bad I had to move to Charlotte. The only two things I miss about Chicago are Svengoolie and White Sox baseball.
Love Hungry Spacemen! Somebody should start a band called that.
Saw this when first released in the USA. Scary!
Saturday morning matinee in the 60s. They packed so much into this one! But of course, this is a world without Godzilla, strange in retrospect.
One of the "essential three" Japanese monster-sci films, Godzilla, Rodan and Mysterians. This was in the late 50s before these films became camp and self satirizing, yet for the most part, they are all fun.
This may already have been pointed out, but I'm fairly sure one of the Narrorators was William Dozier(Can anyone confirm this?) who later went on to produce the 60's Batman series(and Green Hornet as well). He also did narroratives for both shows. "Same Bat-Time, Same Bat-Channle!" I'll concede this voice over MAY just sound like Dozier...
This movie kicks ass! thanks for the upload.
I remember seeing this one at the local movie theater I was probably around 12 years old. this had some pretty impressive special effects and my friend and I thought it was really cool.
i bought the DVD and its worth every penny.
Saw this on cable, years ago. Named our punk era band, New Mysterians. Mikel Automatic, Anthony Lookout, Jim Eason, David Bass, & Joe Danger.
Get the TOKYO SHOCK DVD of THE MYSTERIANS. Great Saturday afternoon fun, along with hot-pizza and root-beer.
@Velocity9s You are correct. It was William Dozier.
Cool!
@shadowworrier321 Moguera was made by Toho, who made both Godzilla and this. Moguera was in Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla to honor the Mysterians.
Love hungry space men!
Sounds like sailors on leave. LOL
alien power rangers?
too many teardrops
Great Japanese Sci-Fi vehicle. I dig that Spy Vs Spy giant robot. Okay, this movie left out Question Mark and.
Those Orange helmets were awesome.
@CharmieKid Why not? They put Rodan, Varan, Gorosaurus, Manda and Baragon... who were stars from one Toho movie, into Godzilla movies. Right?
Guys, if you don't know what the giant robot is, its Mogura
this is awesome!!:D
Very nostalgic! I still that giant robot.
The 1957 Moguera is so much better than the 90's Moguera.
I remember this one
That is so speciesist!
Listen to the messer chups song "The Mysterians" they brought me here
"Our race is old, dying our planet dead"
WTF!?
When I was a little kid I loved this movie. I also had a crush on the leading lady.
I would like to see whole length movie of the mysterians
I might be telling you something you already know, since this comment was 6 years ago, but just in case... the full movie is on DailyMotion.
I saw this I was about 5. 'The robot scared me, for some reason.
I would really like to see this movie
@TheCGIMaster yea ,but they used it here first !
@Curas1
Thats pretty funny.....Googie!...What an awesome reference
@TheXenomorph1 Yea...they were really stretching it with that acronym...
@TheCGIMaster
I actually think MOGURA, the Robot monster is the only thing people remember of this movie because he appeared in a Godzillia film with a new backstory
c'è qualcuno che può caricarlo tutto intero ? grazie
the robot looks awesome i remember seeing it in Godzilla Vs SpaceGodzilla cant remember whats hes called though Mogura or something
Sorry. I must have missed it. What was this film called? ;o)
Mars want's women, AKA, Do you mind if we dance with your women? LOL
Is this on dvd
Yes. if you're a fan it's worth it.
That guy's voice is so annoying, that I'd rather listen to Gabara's roar for 2 hours.
Is this film in the same fictional universe as Godzilla? Like a Tohoverse?
@deadinred11 Uh, THIS Moguera is the ORIGINAL Toho version of Moguera. Toho makes both of them. You prolly like the newer version of him. lol
agreed
The First Robot Kaiju of Toho
@shadowworrier321 well, godzilla took the mogera idea from mysterians. godzilla vs spacegodzilla=1994 the mysterians=1957. theyre from the same company, anyway.
I am The Mysterians!
uff
nic adams was in this film
was that giant robot Mogyera?
Looks like a fun cheesy sci-fi movie. I might have seen part of it when it was on TV. Although, as a little kid I was at the time, it didn't interest me like Godzilla and Gamera and such. NOW I wanted to see it. Too bad the DVD release is out of print and VERY costly to get. :-/
Captain Scarlet would have dealt with this lot - no problem
Is that a beak on thier helmet ?
Wait a second I'm positive that's the giant robot that last 10 seconds against SpaceGodzilla in Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla
Mogera only got like 2 minutes of action in the entire film. I was very disappointed :(
HEY MAN, er, ALIEN THINGS!!!!
YOU CAN'T STEAL EARTHS CHICKS
THEIR OUR CHICKS!!!!!
MEN OF THE EARTH UNITE!!! AND CHAAAAAAAARGE!!!!!
The theme of Aliens coming to Earth to harvest our genetic material goes back to the 1920s in Germany, before DNA was even discovered in 1955 by Watson and Crick.
nah they just want to fuck the woman of earth so they can have children
地球防衛軍、日本SF 特撮映画の傑作ですね、
theres mogra! from godzilla!
being a misterian sounds like fun!
Kon'nichiwa earth girl , I have a matterizer that can give you anything you like, a super cool swanky retro future sky van and a astro lounge mini space station.
oh and a prehincle foot long pedicel, let's get googie!
SEE!
You do realize how old it is, right?
When I saw this at age 7, I remember thinking this was a really good movie. My Mom said it was "trash". It seems she was right.
that's a different mogera from Godzilla vs Space Godzilla
Soon now. Very soon....
@ftjax No, they're just happy to see some Earth women.
What in the world! Toho made this movie ! Moguera is bad in this movie and in every first kaiju movie like Gojira they have to kill the monster! And why do the Mysterians aliens like skinny ladies?
Is that the narrator from Batman?
people of maldek
Hmm, they are looking for women? What does that giant robot do with that phallus-like nose? UNH! UNH!! YAYA GITCHI GOOMI! GIVE ME SOME HONEY!! HAHHA! Funny, eh?
@jonathan45278 Yeah, remember that time the US Army had a giant robot and harnessed natural disasters??
M.o.g.u.e.r.a and Mysterians
Hahah, this trailer makes it sound like we are pretty fucked. I suppose I'll have to watch and see.
Or chips, onion or clam-dip, and Beer. Or hot dogs with spicy-mustard and beer. And The Mysterians, Goijira tai Mosura, AVATAR, and a warm pretty woman to snuggle on the couch with. Heaven.
You do realize that this is a TOHO movie right?
"Hey, whats a buetiful chick like you doing on a planet like this, wanna come back to my spaceship"... 100% guaranteed to get you some earth woman action.
I wanna see giant robots. I wanna see impregnable fortresses. I WANNA SEE THE mysterians.
The sooptrians souptryins souptryins
Silly bird people
Well that looks like a bit of alright, will have to check it out! And the Mysterians can have our feminists, let them bend their ears instead (if they have them under those helmets)..
Long as she's like Britney Spears. Minus the crazy-mind!
Old Comercials were anoying they kept saying the title over and over😡
The mysterians the mysterians the mysterians
You see the point is, women especially back then (and even today) are treated as livestock property no different than cattle and it represents male land owner fears of invaders taking 'their' women 'for their own production'.
Mysterious are pure shit '
Dont they have their own women
@mattferrett Ha, good answer! Don't get him started though, because he'll probably start talking about the HAARP machine or some such kookery.
only you of earth, you and your women, can give us life. the only thing that could make that better is to have bill cosby say it.
LMAO you and and your women can gives us life
man if i give a nickle every time they say that i can retire at the age 21
sounds like what's going on today
that was cheesy
Are you kidding? They want to reproduce!
