My mom was 11 years older than my stepfather & they were married for 20 years before she died of cancer. I met my boyfriend almost a year before she died & he is almost 11 years younger than me. I never dated someone so much younger than me, but it has been working out beautifully & we are going on 2 years together now & are very much in love. I have never been so happy. I am 39 & he is (almost) 29. We learn new things from each other all the time & it is always exciting & new. Love and happiness knows no age.

2 decades difference between me and my husband and we are truly happy. Chronological age has little bearing on a relationship. How each of you feel when you are together matters much more. If you are a better person for having him in your life then it is a good match. I am older than my husband and we suit each other well and he has made me a better person by simply opening my eyes to many things I may have missed on my own.
I've dated in my age range and it hasn't worked. Over and over I've tried, but I've just started seeing someone 17 years younger and he's amazing. We have heaps in common,we make each other laugh and we make each other happy.
I always dated in my own age range it never worked out now I have a boyfriend 11 years younger then me, and he's the love of my life, we have to best relationship we make eachother so happy :) Hope your relationship continues to be great
Leni Mikaelson some of it is sinister in nature. older men want to look at someone younger, feel younger through her, rather than finding a woman with similar interests and outlook. this applies to gaps of 15-20 years. a more narrow gap, 10 years or less, don't apply. being men are so visual, they don't realize that they actually look stupid when walking around with someone 20 years younger. the woman, trust me, she has her agenda as well, his wallet. so in my opinion, these relationships are not built on trust, companionship, morals, they're built on illusions, and illusions waste quickly.

In the past marriage in the same age bracket was feasible. Relatives, friends, and the community stood by newly wed to provide the support. Today the situation is not the same. Many young men lack the experience to relate to their young spouses. love without the ability to provide support is an impediment. Many older men can meet these needs the younger women need. This is true for those with bad experiences with younger men.
Yah, when I was 41 I met a gal who was 19 (22 year age gap). We dated for 2 years and then married. 8 years later she divorced me, but that was not because of the age gap. We liked to do the same things together and she was my best friend, The final 2 years of marriage was strained. She reconected with her former hi school sweet heart (who had been married to some other gal). He is now divorced and married to my former wife.

I just let it go. My boyfriend is 17 years older than me. at first i wasn't attracted to him but as we hang out more often, I started to fall in love with him. I never know how the future will go but he really hopes I would marry him. I m too young to be married and we will wait together.
I couldn't agree more. I've recently run into a 43 year old ex-girlfriend of mine who has been happily dating a 19 year old guy for over a year and a half. Not only is there an age difference but a race difference. She is white and he is black and despite these things, it appears that they are madly in love. I'm not the jealous type,so I wish them all the best. Age difference does not matter.

Based on my observations, experience, and knowledge in human interaction, age difference does not always matter in dating or marriage. It depends on the individuals who are involved. For example two young persons entering a relationship must both have patience and willing to learn to relate to each other. Many younger women also want to experience love that someone their age might lack. In liberia,West Africa many men got married in their latter years to younger women. They were prepared by then to raise a family. The only downside in some cases was the wife became a widower. Although this was expected love superseded this circumstance.
You guys have a long way to go to catch up with me. In 2003 At the tender age of 69 I married my wife who was just turning 20 and we are still great together

It's entirely subjective. I'm happy with dating someone my own age, I feel like there's more equality and there are certain things that we're able to discuss, little niche things that only someone in our age group would be able to remember, and I'm happy with that. That being said, if you want to date someone older than you then God bless. It's not for me to dictate your life just because I'm happy with mine.
However (and I feel very strongly about this), if the guy (or woman) is so much older than you that he has children, don't try to divert money away from them, even if it's to start your own family, don't try to reduce child support payments (isn't it selfish to have more offspring if he can't afford to pay for the ones he already has?) or the children WILL start resenting their parent.
I don't even mess with his child support that's between him and the mother who birthed those children he has enough money to support those two and the one we r having I promise u and I make money...the rest of his children r grown I'm actually best friends with his eldest daughter and she loves that we r together bc we r happy
Pff, don't let some tiny 6 years gap destroy the love you have. It's not a 30year difference after all. You are in the same generation. I feel like some people are very mature at age 20, some are still kids at age 40. Our souls have different age than our physical bodies. Be happy, that's all that matters.
I dated a guy 20 years older than me and it was no problem until he started to doubt if he was to old for me... But age is just a number, right?

Charlies Angel my best advise is make time for one another even if u can't relate to some topics listen...b patient and if there r any problems TALK to one another....these r normal pieces of advise for couples age difference makes no difference I hope u guys have a long lasting happy relationship

The older person has a head start in life.. Better stability and wisdom!!! But the dating should start at 25 a fresh girl out of high school is still a girl. Unless the guys a boy as well!!!

But lots of things had happened to my life so I'm really mature so people think I'm three years older. But I don't know how to tell him. I don't wanna lose our friendship because we're best friends.
