    These cacti are not like the cacti I’m used to sprouting. Keep them forever moist when they are babies until they are an inch to two inches. Then cut back.. I never really knew they needed so much water until I tried growing these beautiful guys. I lost all 10 of my sprouts because I treated them like a prickly pear sprout. You only need to water them a little and not moisten them since it can cause root rot easily for those cacti.
    And I found out I had an adult dragon fruit growing in one of my pots and it gave me a delicious surprise.
    Best tasting dragon fruit I ever had. I do believe it’s different from the store variety I tried growing. The inside was half white and half hot pink.
    I’m a proud dragon fruit owner and I didn’t even know it! :)

      How often do you water the seed before germination??

    • @_Chessa_
      @_Chessa_ Год назад +12

      @@eddiemart4 keep the soil they are in relatively moist.
      So misting some water on it almost every day if you live in a very dry area with low humidity.
      If it’s more humid and you have more moss and ferns that grow in your area; mist with water every two to three days.
      Keep doing that until they get to an inch of length after sprouting. Then cut back on watering a bit.
      :) hope this helps. They look awesome when they are babies!

    They sprouted but have not developed thorns. I think my mistake was leaving them in direct sun for 3 days, but hydrating them only with water in a pot with substrate, not so drained.
    Any recommendation? Did you take yours out into the sun?

I had to use glasses and tweezers to be able to plant them after I saw they had sprouted a root. They are tiny. I have a grow light I use. I don’t know what to do with them. What I don't understand is how the seed knows the difference between the wet flesh of the fruit and the wet puddle of water. Most seeds actually exist in a dry cavity. Crack open an apple, the seeds are in a small dry cavity inside the fruit. These ones appeared to be right in the flesh.
