I do like to visit this type of museums with so much on show, information and artefacts in their original settings. Big names like Bletchley Park or the Cabinet War Rooms of course, and even our local museum has a maintained a small exhibition on WW2. Our most recent visit of this type was to the WW2 Bunker in Uxbridge, on the northern edge of London, from where air traffic to and fro was plotted - lots of other exhibition spaces and examples of a Spitfire and a Hurricane hanging overhead.
I like it, Nick. It is nice to see the story of the part where Liverpool and the people of the area played such a major part in the survival of this war, I believe I had an uncle that served in the convoys and survived the war
Hiya.. my Mum was a young Wren in this building when She was 17, unfortunately she has passed. She was on BBC TV documentary about her role in the western approaches. She was interviewed by Peter Sissons ex News at 10 newsreader.. a fellow scouser.. her photo is in there.. Great to see thanks.
I took my eldest lad there a few weeks ago. We both enjoyed exploring the place. I first visited it about 29 years ago when they first opened it. Chatting to one of the staff they told me they found another lower level. They had a former WREN visit and asked where the shooting range had gone? Apparently it's under the main control room. Apparently a lot of the original bunker was lost when they built exchange flags underground car park next to it. He said there are rooms in the car park that are sealed but we're part of the bunker originally. I would love to have a look at these closed off areas
..._ . ._. _._ _ _ _. _ _ _ _ _ _ _.. = Very Good 👍 Such a shame so much of our history gets lost 😢 😢 at least it will be preserved in digital form now aswell. It's a shame there was no ticker tape reels on the Creed Teleprinters, it would have been amazing to see them still there containing all the secret messages.
Brilliant video. Really Interesting. Well Done Mister Drone👍
Great Video Thanks, Brought Back Great Memories of Visiting With My Mum Who's Passed Away Now, We Loved It ❤
Very interesting...
Top video nick 👍

Great stuff visited the Churchill War Rooms in London when I lived down south. Never knew Liverpool had something similar. Thanks
Another great video, Nick. At about 11:50 you out did yourself with the flames coming out of your mouth. Brilliant stuff as usual 😀
Not really flames sorry. Star Wars stuff maybe?
Also Nick
There are still the pill boxes and anti Aircraft gun position bases in and around Parbold in West Lancashire
Brilliant video 😊
