    1. The fact that Rahab knew that he would die at Raziel's hands and of their Sarafan heritage, for which he shows considerable disgust and even says that they were "lost", implies that he is the sole son that Kain maintained contact with over the centuries. Even deigning to reveal some pretty important info.
    Even more telling that Rahab stayed loyal to Kain, resisting the madness he and his brothers inherited, and accepted his death.
    Ironic that the middle child of the clan leaders is the most sane one lol
    2. The city that Rahab and his clan took over and where you fight him is implied to have been Turel's territory. In fact, during the war between the clans, while the Dumahim and Turelium were busy fighting, the Rahabum flooded any territory that was left unattended, taking it over and , effectively, making it near impossible for any of the clans to take back.
    Fun fact:
    Rahab would have gotten along with end of Soule Reaver 2/Defiance Raziel. Maybe they would have even been able to talk things out peacefully, which makes their battle here even more tragic

      I like to think that there is a little bit more to devouring his brothers' souls than just gaining new powers. I like to think that some traits of their personalities are also inherited, albeit subtly. A hint of self-pity from Melchiah ("Am I reduced to this...?"), probably some conniving from Zephon, some more arrogance from Dumah later, and yes, maybe some capacity to see the bigger picture, from Rahab. Arguably the most important aspect later in the series, just like swimming is probably the most important ability that sets Raziel apart from Kain in the end.

    Whomever it was that was in charge of the rubbery noise the Rahabim make when you hit them deserves applause. Another absolutely silly noise, but it fits.

    I kind of feel bad for Rahab. Out of all brothers he seems like one most sensible. I get that we need his ability for the sake of progressing and all, and i get that Raziel is a vengeful blockhead for, like, half of the series, but Rahab's death seems rather pointless for me.

      you seem to have forgotten why he's doing this in the first place.

      All the lieutenants stood by and watched Raziel get executed despite not willingly committing any real crime against Kain, with Dumah and Turel going as far as carrying out the execution. To Raziel, they all have his blood on their hands.

    Thank you for these videos on an abridged and narrated playthrough, it really breathes more life into the story. For example: Raziel didn't notice the wall spikes at 8:30 so he plays catch release with his relentless pursuers.

    It's a shame Raziel doesn't say anything about Rahab or his water adaption. Feels like that should have been a bigger deal than Raziel's wings

    • @shadowhunter0815
      @shadowhunter0815 21 день назад +6

      I don't think Raziel is in the right state of mind to question that at this point. He is simply out for revenge.
      Only from Soul Reaver 2 onwards does he start to question the motives of Kain or the Elder God. Or the Reason why his wings were the reason for his execution while Rahab was allowed to live.

    • @llia_nsk
      @llia_nsk 21 день назад +1

      @shadowhunter0815 yeah, I agree. It's still sad, though. How Raziel gets overzealous about vengeance and righteousness in the wrongest times and needs a good kick in the head from Kain to finally start using his freaking brain. That wouldn't be that bad if he hadn't messed up so much in the process.
      At least in the end he did a right thing.

    • @llia_nsk
      @llia_nsk 21 день назад +1

      Maybe Rahab developed his adaptation sometime after Raziel's execution, so Kain wasn't that interested in his lieutenant's evolution already, as well as fate of his empire. I recall one of the brothers said something about that in previous videos.

      @filipvadas7602 21 день назад +3

      To be fair, Raziel's wings were a bigger deal for reasons other than how usefull they are.
      Also, Rahab's immunity to water came with the downside of being even more weak to even Nosgoth's meager sunlight that's being obscured by the smokestacks

      @@llia_nskhe alredy has scaly skin in the opening cutscene of the game, though unfortunately we never get a clear look at his model outside of images released by the devs years later, so his resistance to water was likely alredy well underway ,if not acquired outright, by then.
      His devolution, like the others, came after Raziel's execution, yes.

    FORCED to throw our enemy into the water below he says, while there is a giant spike in the wall behind the enemy to impale him on, lol.

    Rahab is my favorite boss. The retexturing really looks amazing. This game could use a reboot, like they did for Medievil.

    first ever game i played on the PS1. the story arc was amazing the writers knew how to get you hooked. my most favorite place was Dumahs stronghold. all the set up when you get in there leading a mouse to a trap. the nerves are going

    The aesthetics of this water themed area reminds me a little of the water 💧 temple from Ocarina. Honestly really like that spooky ambiance old school games have for there dungeons and catacombs. And how the PS1 games looked. Like these two games newer gamers probably haven’t heard of but the series goes by the name (Nightmare_Creatures) which may or may not have inspired BloodBorn.

    The following dumb secret trivia from akishan's extras FAQ on Gamefaqs has been trapped in my head for for over a decade.
    "The game says no load times, right? Well, once lots of Rahabim
    vampires have hatched in the Drowned Abbey, running around will sometimes
    cause the message "Streaming" to show. The point? None:)"
    I can't even remember where any of the glyphs are but for some reason this is gonna be with me until the day I die.

    Such epic build up for the lamest boss fight in history. I hope this IP gets a rework/remaster
