I have a Janome 2112 I am New to sewing and quilting. I have tried to quilt small projects like placemats. But I fail miserably. I did a course. I did well on their machine but I fail with mine. The material bunches up etc. Any hints
I noticed that you did not turn on the accufeed button. Is there a reason for that? Does it automatically work just by having the foot on? Also, did you need to make any adjustments to the dual feed balancing dial. Thank you.
Great questions Kathy! The foot will work without the Acufeed engaged but it won't have the same oomf. We recommend activating the button whenever using the foot to make sure you get the full power. You may need to make adjustments to the dual feed balancing dial. If you make a small quilt sandwich with similar fabrics and batting to your quilt you can try out your quilting settings and make adjustments as needed before quilting your quilt. Happy Quilting!
Melissa I am planning to purchase your new "Edge to Edge Walking Foot Quilting Designs'. Do you sell through your sight or do you strictly sell through your Etsy shop?
Vicki Madigan Yes, we have many videos on the 9400 and 9450 . Kim did quite a lot on Janome Life blog. So,e we have copied and posted here too. But do a search for 9450 on Janome Life blog to find more.
The mechanics of the machine make a noise when the foot is raised and lowered. It may sound a little off due to the microphone placement during the filming.
You may use the needle up/ down button on the 8900 but you will have to still raise and lower the presser foot lifter manually as the MC 8900 does not have auto presser foot lift. You can easily pivot when the needle is down. The auto lift function is on other models like the Mc9400/9450 , M7, S9; MC15000 etc.
Melissa, you are such a wonderful teacher! This tutorial is clear and concise. So helpful. Thanks.
We agree! Melissa is so good! We will try to get more videos from Melissa!
This was very helpful. I will now set up my Janome 9400. I do have your first book and will be purchasing the second book for sure. Thanks

I have pieced a few quilt tops together no problem however when quilting i can’t do it. I know I have a very basic machine. Is that the problem?
thank you for showing a whole quilt being worked on - so many videos only show a small sampler

What is the squeaking noise? I think it is happening when you raise and lower the foot.

Hi Melissa is there an auto pivot function on the memory craft 8900?
