I think Justin is so appropriate and complementary here; he really did give her the ability to tell her story with active listening and just a supportive presence. I really respect him as a coach and obviously a significant ballast for each of his athletes.
I am heartbroken for her in terms of her season ending short, but I'm super happy she is getting answers. Wishing her the best. Sara is such a wonderful human. 💖 This was one of the best segments ever
The breadth of content today was outstanding. I can feel myself getting both kinder and meaner, more emphatic and more close minded, enlightened and more sophomoric when I watch The Sevan Podcast. Home run today Sevan. Home. Run.
Appreciate Sara letting us in on her situation. Living a similar situation myself. Took 10 years to get into med school (my version of the CF games). Started 3rd year this year. Randomly diagnosed with autoimmune disease. Caused me to pull out for the foreseeable future. Completely lost with what I want to do with my life now. So hard to be taking time away from everything you thought you were / trying to be. Unrelated, but funnily, Sara said her dream is to have triplets and I’m a triplet 😂
Great podcast. Nice to have an honest update from Sarah. Btw…you, Hiller, and the crew are the only reason I’m still interested in CrossFit. Keep it up!
She will always be a force whether she competes or not. Love her 🫶

Wow! What a journey. Glad you found a doctor you trust. I wish you peace through this. You rock! I was just diagnosed with auto immune Hashimoto disease. It sucks. You 2 give me hope to continue working out, but listen to my body. I'll be talking about auto immune issues on my upcoming podcast called Barbells and Hot Flashes. Thanks for sharing your story. Take the small wins every day. Peace
Sounds to me like your body is telling you to listen. Not the popular opinion, but after 20+ years of personal training and 12 owning a box, I have some knowledge to share. Stressing your body, your mind, training every day while trying to “rehab” your body sounds like it’s counterproductive and your body is screaming at you to give it rest, let it heal then maybe continue on. I get the whole Goggins mindset, but he’s not trying to win the CrossFit Games and he’s broke into a million pieces. Take time to heal your body, clear your mind and come back after you’re healed and healthy! Everyone loves you and only wants the best for you HEALTH wise first and foremost
Glad someone mentioned this Without judging her at all, as I know how hard it is to switch off the athlete mindset But her rest times seems to entail two nice baths a day and oxygen tank therapy etc That’s not rest Constantly worrying about rehab is bound to release the same stress hormones she would be hoping to avoid or lower Easier said than done, and right now I need to listen to my own advice a bit as well, but taking some time to pursue other interests and eat some food, see the world and find joy could be the best thing for “recovery”. I don’t think her body is fighting itself, it’s trying it’s best to function with limited resources. Gain some energy by letting go for a bit Sara! Still a legend, and my thoughts are just my understanding of the body and stress hormones
“ if you just walked away, would it all get better?” Seven asked Great question, Sev The answer is, most likely yes The fact Sara responded so quickly with “no” shows the lack of understanding of the human body and it’s systems She’s tried everything and done it all by the books in her own words To no avail Perhaps, the “book” is wrong These top-level athletes cannot all be healthy like we think , with the amount of stress, their metabolism is put through I’m glad Sara feels on track with what is working for her at the moment Come back to this comment a year from now and let me know if I was wrong , but my understanding is things will not be better until she takes time off
The only way I can describe her is that she is a stone cold killer. There aren't many - Rich, Josh, Matt, Tia, Sara, Katrin. At game time, the switch turns on and they are stone cold killers.
I like sevan and the podcast and it’s definitely not just him it’s a lot of dudes but -- why do guys think the camera needs to be so close to their face?! It’s like talking to someone directly in their face. Notice how u can see Sara and her background and she’s further away just like you’d talk to someone in real life. MEN, MOVE THE CAMERA BACK! lol
I noticed that as well, when you're struggling and go through such these hard things, you have to put God in front of you and back to him, and not pretending like I will live forever, Is that what u mean ?
What a great interview, Sara is a top notch sweetheart and staple of the CrossFit Era 🩷💪🏼💪🏼🤗 now we know why she cancelled on you a bit back. No harm, she loves you 😘

Appreciate the kind words. Thank you. 🙏

Sara. I still have a Tuxedo prepped for your return/ podium spot!! Ha. I Love You Girl!!!!
Sara is a warrior! Big big love for her (and you Cotler!) thank you for sharing this here and grateful for your hard work. All of you!

Sara, your story is so relatable. I can’t wait to see you prevail.
Sevan is a master interviewer.
I love Sara so much 🤍 such strength, beauty, and grace.
Sara is mentally the strongest athlete we've ever seen!
Hey did Sara take the poison poke?
Yes she did. She has VAIDS.
Mom strength baby! She’s going to be an unleashed LIONESS!
Love Sara. Always have

Great question, Sev
The answer is, most likely yes
The fact Sara responded so quickly with “no” shows the lack of understanding of the human body and it’s systems
She’s tried everything and done it all by the books in her own words
To no avail
Perhaps, the “book” is wrong

I thought ice and compression was said to hinder recovery now. P.S. I'm not a doctor or an athlete 😅
You are correct
Imagine if Sara had a healthy career. Keep killing it Sara
Sara❤❤❤

Id be trying a carnivore diet at this point.
Came here hoping someone would say this
@user-do1vx1zs4eplant based would worsen auto immune issues heavily. Paul Saladino has a lot of information on why plants are toxic for humans
Her body is literally screaming for carbs/energy
Is this also related to the multiple broken ribs?

Dude let her finish her story!
She seems to be in denial, I guess some therapy would help.
See? No God talk. How hard can it be?
Probably pretty hard for people whose whole life is about God.🤷🏼♂️
@@crossfunctionalfitness I'd ask myself a couple of questions there XD

@@Levigna1983 like what?
damn, she mentioned covid, thats enough for me
