    Five o’clock in the morning you lads are going to be experts in cutting pine when your finished nice timber coming off the mill , todays job working for the council repairing some railings it’s an experience working with people who can make a three hour job last all day I’ve already made the section I need to replace , go to there depo safety talk have mug of tea go to the job have another mug of tea signs and cone out anther mug of tea get the damage section out have dinner new bit in have an other mug of tea paint them packup end of shift , I’ve seen more work in a sick note and more go in an urgent letter like all government jobs I think they get attendance allowance for turning up , anyway you guys have a nice day

    Hello Marc, I've been watching you for a while now. Just curious how accurate your mill is when you're 2 x 4's or any other stock. What is your tolerance from end to end? The mill here in Colorado that I go to is anywhere between 1/4" to almost 1/2" which I believe is not very accurate at all. Thanks for the vid's

      thanks for watching , I keep everything adjusted so it's with in a 1/16" if the log didn't move while sawing.

      There is a lever to transfer the engine power to the blade. There is no emergency stop. Pull the lever to remove power from the blade, then the blade spins to a stop

    A while back, I mentioned using poor quality logs in order to make wooden pallets for people to use to stack things on them. How is that idea progressing? Is it as useful as I thought it would be?

    Hey, "pine is fine" 😊...I think you usually cut dimensional 2"x4" lumber (today's example)...do you ever get orders for "boardfoot" framing sizes, such as today's would be 1-1/2"x3-1/2" actual? What's the correct sawyer terminology for the difference like that?

      In our trade we would cut 50X100mm for building work, but for planed all round- 45X95mm. I retired 34 Years ago, so I'm out of touch. I decided to teach myself and sell my paintings, and I did so. I still miss the scent of freshly sawn timber, though.

      Wane is the bark that is left on some of the sawn timber. Pith is the timber from the logs centre.
