There was too much disruption with the list late in the season, mostly due to injuries. You can't bring that many guys in for an elimination final and expect them to be match fit. Would have been better to roll the dice with a couple of the younger blokes.

You know that finals are determined based on criteria set out at the start of the year, yeah? So if Collingwood wanted to make finals, they knew what to do and didn't do it.

@mitchellrizza284 After brainstorming I can't think of a format that would work with 10 teams. The current NRL/AFL Top 8 format is essentially perfect. Other than the fact only top 4 teams ever win

For being an observer and a fan of 2 sports, it almost took 2 quarters for Carlton to click in. But it wasn't enough to think that Brisbane have now beaten them in the finals. TWICE (in 2 years?)!

If Brisbane can replicate there 1st quarter pressure for 4 quarters against Giants next week they will win.
Giants don't allow run and carry like Carlton did. Look at what they did to Warner, Mills and Heaney in the first half, they had 0 space and there was always someone ready to take the carrier on especially in the corridor. Brisbane still have a chance next week but it will be up to their accuracy more than anything. If their forwards can't convert crucial moments to scoreboard pressure they will be cooked by halftime.

The greatest team of all are the one with the best Grand final record. CARLTON v collywobbles played 6 times in Grand finals CARLTON 5 wins Collywobbles 1. Home and away records and minor finals achievements are completely meaningless to any supporter. The filth are the reining premiers and deservedly so. Can't wait for the day of another old Carlton Collingwood Grand final.

Credit has to be given to Voss and the players for giving some fight in the second half but the damage was already done and the game was already over. Brisbane too strong in contest and they were able to run and carry with 0 pressure nearly all game. Lost count of how many uncontested possessions I saw in each passage of play the lions made, quite embarrassing that the players didnt look like they wanted to work or they were too nervous to play properly. Carlton just snuck into the top 8 and got the result that most were expecting, back to the drawing board for Voss and hope they can bounce back next year with better performances than that. Hipwood is a liability most of the time I see him with the ball, I'd rather him pass off to someone with a handball or get the ball to someone else like Cameron who can nail a shot. Great win Lions good luck next week against GWS.
AFL needs a wildcard format this was embarrassing for the game.
