      There is alot of ways he could show his routines. Beatbox just has a lack of people making content.

      @@ecciq I mean I'm not sure this is "the problem" here. Just think that GBB needs to organize their events like it was back in the mid 2010s. With GBB Camp, GBB Fantasy Battle and more. on video it's Wing for me, and it's not even a question. But this is one of the battles where the live experience was drastically different from video. Kaji was just riding his momentum wave all the way through. The difference in energy was much much bigger live (and in the stream). The video really takes that away
    Kaji doing the intro to Wing's old routine with that much cleanliness after powering through for a drop, was also really impressive. And it would score a battle point imo

    It's not the video's audio that didn't do justice, it's the venue's live audio which didn't do justice to some beatboxers. During live performance the beatboxers who have more power in their beats end up winning. This is a very good example. Remix vs Abo Ice was also kind of not fair but it was close enough.

    Watching the BBXShorts videos it's clear kaji and julard were blowing the roof off the building, idk how that's not worth winning.. If you illicit a visceral emotional reaction out of a live crowd you should be rewarded. Does that favor louder/heavier guys? Sure, who cares, that's fun as hell! Wings beats are some of my fav tho, the genre's he brought to GBB this year are some of my fav genres to listen to of regular music so it's tough that he didn't win.

    For me, it was like hardcore vs. lo-fi personifications of electronic music in the form of these guys :). Both are insane and could go either way. It was just great. My take is that Wing lost the second round a little because he lowered the energy after Kaji's round and stayed there for too long. The final drop was too late for me.

  • @Naochanmegamilv-02346eo
    @Naochanmegamilv-02346eo 16 дней назад +1

    WING won the 1st round by a large margin, but KAJI won the 2nd round by a large margin, and that win was superior to WING's 1st round, which is why KAJI won. I think WING made a strategic mistake in battling KAJI. It seemed like KAJI's rough THE POWER bounced off his delicate and beautiful attacks. I think he could have gone for more beauty. On the contrary, he used KAJI's power as a swing to highlight his own beauty.
    The venue may have been a little favorable for power-type moves.
    But in this tournament, I think that professionals have to adapt and deal with it, so I don't think you can blame the acoustics of the venue.
    This tournament is an online tournament and a tournament where the quality of the video is what matters, so no matter how much you win on video, it doesn't mean anything in this tournament.

Wing's round 2 was sonically sparse (0 kicks to speak of, an entire minute of 0 bass) and only starts to get good when he has 5 seconds left. Bad battle round. Would have been a great Elimination, but it took too long to get going for a battle round. Wing's first round was sick as hell though!!

    @freerider3434 17 дней назад +1

    I understand that it would have sounded very different live. But isn't that the reason the judges have headphones?! Perhaps they should have kept them on. Their job, as I understand it, is to judge the beatbox and part of the criteria is cleanliness, right? So they have the headphones for that.
    Kaji was insane but if we were to accept that power and speed can just cover up cleanliness, then if a beatboxer wants to win, they would be forced to adopt that style and that is gonna turn boring.
    The diversity of different styles is part of what makes beatbox so interesting and such an art and I believe also why the ruleset factors in other things that are not just raw power or speed. So the argument "it sounded different live" kinda stands on shaky legs for me cuz of the headphones thing :/

    • @stitch_mus1c
      @stitch_mus1c  17 дней назад +1

      The judges have NEVER used headphones in any live battle before! The only reason why they had headphones this time was because the sound was really bad. It was so bad to the point where you couldn't hear a lot of details and it would actually hurt your ears as you listened. That's why they have headphones, because the sound system was bad. In a battle with decent sound, the judges wouldn't need headphones and they would be able to hear everything

      @ because the battle scene is where the heart of the beatbox community is at and also allows people to gain great publicity. @someweirdguy5721 19 дней назад +1

      @justpotatoes411 well this kind of battle format has to exist somewhere it exists here. Fair argument on maybe they should have a different category for showcasing but also the internet is a massive platform kaji releases just straight up music tracks and it's really good no reason anyone else can't do that. I mean wing got his notariety here everyone's talking about him. But also like stitch said in the videos being there live was a completely different experience and no matter what that's what it's always going to come down to what it feels like being there.
