I always wait for your review(s) before making a purchase decision. You have yet to let me down in that regard. You cover all the questions I have about a product which allows me to make an informed decision. No other reviewers even come close. Not even remotely. You efforts are greatly appreciated by this veteran simmer. Thank you!
Well thanks very much Bananimal! That’s very kind of you to say and I’m really glad that the content is proving to be useful / reliable : ) Thanks for watching. My pleasure and all the best!
Haha, glad you enjoyed it BerZerk! I sometimes leave a little Easter egg in at the end, just for those that actually made it that far : P Thanks very much for watching and all the best! : )
GREAT flight. As you AND the developer said, there are a few issues but this looks to be a plane that you get what you pay for. If you "feel the need for speed" then this would be a good choice, with very little surprises. Glad you flew over Lake Meade while there still IS a Lake Meade! !! !!!
Thanks Mark! Yes indeed; hopefully by now I've made it clear in some of my videos, that I think it is actually ok to have fun in the sim (shock horror haha) and the F-22 certainly ticks all of those boxes! Having finally seen Top Gun 2 not all that long ago, I was "feeling the need for speed" ; ) The F-22 is high quality if not high fidelity, though I gather Top Mach plan to continue to work on the aircraft, adding further systems etc. Gah, someone else pointed out the same thing re Lake Meade. That's a sad state of affairs isn't it. All the best : )
Hi JYAP, Re Lake Mead, apparently there isn’t much of a lake left (sadly). . . I believe due to both environmental and human factors, the lake has almost been run dry, so MSFS’ depiction of it is rather “generous”. I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
Fantastic stream once again I remember the F22 fighter game on the Sega maga drive system back in the 90s I think the graphics and immersion has come along way since then lol 😆.
Thank you very much sir, glad you enjoyed it! Haha, I think the first console I ever tried was a Sega Mega Drive; was it “study level” though?! : P My gosh, the F-22 must have been a twinkle in Lockheed Martin’s eye back then? XD I’m happy to say that we have indeed moved on a little since then. It’s rather unfathomable just how far we have actually come when you look back! All the best : )
lol i was remembering the same hahahah did not even imagine that someone would recall that one kkkk and it was a awful game by they way frustrating fps hahahaha
Haha, I get that quite a bit Magzire. It's not intentional on my part per se; I don't talk like that in the real world (I don't think), but it seems to have been a habit I've formed whilst commentating on RUclips for whatever reason ha. Either way, I'm glad it works for you haha! Cheers and all the best : )
Thanks very much Elder! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the video and indeed that you're finding the content useful in general. Haha, glad you caught that one! I sometimes leave a little Easter egg in at the end, just to see who's made it that far : P Cheers and all the best! : )
Hey! I just found your channel and have been really liking it, I came here after getting on a DCS train even though I don't play lol. My Dad is Canadian Ex-Military and was an aircraft mechanic for the T-Birds, Challengers, and then primarily the F-18C/D for the last half of his career. I've been lucky enough to sit in them a few times. Even while doing an engine test run up when I was a kid during take your kid to work day, I'll never forget that experience. We lived on the Cold Laks Air Force base in Alberta Canada. It's one of the biggest bases is Canada but it's a very small town of 15,000 people so you could visit the hangers whenever you wanted. Anyways I don't know if they have F-18's in MSFS but if they do it'd be so cool to see you fly them in cold lake! Alright, that's about it lol... awesome channel man I'm definitely subscribing! Take care!
Thanks very much Devon, I’m really happy to hear that you’re enjoying the content! That’s, great that you were able to have so many brilliant experiences as you were growing up! MSFS does in fact have 2 variants of the F-18 available (the C and E I believe), though sadly neither is anywhere near DCS standards. I can’t promise a flight around Cold Lake, but I will certainly add the idea to my list of possible future videos. Thanks very much for the sub! Much appreciated and welcome aboard : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thanks so much for the reply, makes me appreciate you and your channel that much more! Yea I'd love to watch that video, it'd be so cool, they have a MASSIVE air weapons range in the area too so it's an awesome area for flying an F-18. Anyways really hope I get to see you do it someday, thanks again for what you do, take care!
Actually, now that you mention it, Devon, I seem to recall watching a video of some German Tornados training up at Cold Lake, back in the day (I guess they were on some sort of exchange / visit). My pleasure on the reply! Thanks again : )
They will add tons of systems with updates they said, best F22 made so far. As for the textures, they cant use more 4k maps fot the exterior cause they aim for the x box release, textures look good for every zoom level for my taste.they said on their discord that x box has some limits. I think its a early release anyway. That g buffer accours when you fly over 600 knots i noticed, with 400 kts its really crisp.
The whole xbox excuse is getting kind of old at this point; unless you're exclusively releasing on the marketplace, there's no reason you can't offer a higher res texture map as an option for non-marketplace versions.
I agree that it has become far too much of a convenient excuse oftentimes zOMGREI. The same goes with weapons; fair enough if you can’t release them onto the Marketplace, but so far as I am aware, that doesn’t preclude any dev from having an external downloadable update, to reinstate the functionality (and yet nobody seems to be doing that). Of course there are some genuine cases where developers are hamstrung by one thing or another, but not nearly as often as is banded around I suspect.
That’s great to hear GP! As you say, it’s clearly already the better of the F-22’s (not that it’s up against stiff competition) and for the most part I think it’s the best flying 5th gen fighter. The textures don’t bother me personally, but there are spots that don’t even look to be 4K. As you say, they do look fine though, unless you zoom right in. It is an early release and already very good, but hopefully Top Mach will see fit to continue working on it then. All the best : )
Wow some people didn’t pay attention to the video where he explains that the replay tool made the flight surfaces behave incorrectly 😂 4:22 This aircraft looks promising, I do hope they keep updating it in the future.
Hehe, welcome to the world of YouTubing Hartbreak! I'd say a good +60% of the questions I receive, are answered in the video, manual, or via a quick google search. I'm always more than happy to help of course, but it's a bit galling replying to questions that have already been answered XD Yeah, it sounds like Top Mach have plans to continue to work on the F-22, so it's shaping up to be cracking addon : ) All the best!
Your music is always on point, quite reminiscent of Afterburner (giving away my age). Excellent video as usual. I think this is pushing me over the edge to get my first modern fast jet. You can't model an accurate 5th gen in msfs so may as well go for fun. Congrats on 20k by the way!
Thanks Roland, I try my best. On rare occasions (this being one of them), the music actually comes to me even before the video idea itself haha. As you say, you’re never going to get an accurate 5th gen fighter in any sim, so perhaps this is actually a reasonable niche for MSFS (though I suspect DCS might still do it better hehe). The F-22 is good fun though, regardless of whether or not it has all the bells and whistles; it would be entertaining to go tail-chasing with a friend etc. Cheers! A nice little milestone for sure. Not that RUclips cares - the grind must continue! : P All the best : )
Thanks once again for a great, detailed review. In fact, it's almost impossible to make any critique on the F22's systems because as you pointed out, it's a plane that is 85%+ blacked out. I read some time ago that the plane can complete its mission even if the pilot is incapacitated. I don't know how much fact there is in any of what I read (or found out in various ways about the plane), but I seem to recall that the pilot can turn the plane over to the AI system if needed, to perform maneuvers well beyond the G-Lock limit in order to escape incoming missile threats. Of course, the pilot would be unconscious through most, if not all, of it. All this, if true, is classified, as it should be. Even when the 22 has been 'put out to pasture', (which isn't too much longer from now), the systems will still be classified for a good 25 to 40 years because upgraded variations will be applied to the 'new kids on the block'. It's so unfortunate that we need to still build 'super-weapons' with ludicrous price tags. I'm the kind of person that calls 'em like I see 'em and frankly, I don't see the kind of future that all those TV documentaries predict regarding future space travel. The application of time-warp engines and multi-galactic exploration are really demonstrating something that this planet will never see in its lifetime. At least, it'll never happen as long as the world-wide population's mentality is still looking to solve differences with ultra-destructive, mega-billion dollar armament. That, and the few ridiculously rich, egocentric, greed-driven individuals who are bent on perpetuating fossil-fuel locomotion, are two main points that can end the 'future' rather suddenly. Anyway, thanks again! Rich
My pleasure once again Rich, glad you enjoyed it! Very interesting read! If true (not a slight on your honesty, but the classified nature of information as you say haha), I had no idea that the tech had reached that sort of point. Certainly the missile evasion thing sounds sensible, albeit another step towards a pilot in the cockpit being removed from the equation (sadly). I can’t say that I disagree with most of your assertions. Humanity seems to have “lost its way” in many respects, seeing the cost of everything and the value of nothing. The fact that we’re only now making our way back towards the moon, speaks volumes. We are still making advancements of course, but having a slightly smaller, faster iPhone every couple of years - hardly very inspiring. . . Still, there are good people out there and one good idea can still end up changing the world ; ) Thanks again!
Hi SN, Do you know, I was never a big fan of the looks of the F-22, but after spending some solid time looking at it during the recording, I really like it now haha. It looks (rather unsurprisingly) like a futuristic F-15. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations not like those smooth clean aerodynamic lines, how dare you sir! Haha yeah it’s definitely a big departure from the likes of other jets and I wish we could make stuff like that without the motive of war but alas, I do agree it really does look like a smoothed out F-15 which is another thing of beauty, how did you feel about the YF-23 the F-22’s competitor as far as looks go? Cheers mate
Yeah, that would be great rt2000! It’s a shame, Aerosoft made some really cracking addons back in the day, but don’t seem to be showing any signs of bringing them to MSFS, at least not yet. Fingers crossed. . . All the best! : )
I just picked this plane up recently as it's on sale for Easter. I have to say, I'm not overly impressed with it. It's fine, I would say it's a step up from DC Designs planes but it's below the standard of something like IndaFoxTecho. I realize this jet is still highly classified so I'm not expecting a study level plane but for the price I do expect the eye candy and this is not up to snuff in my opinion. The textures are just ok. If you hop into a plane from IndiaFoxTecho like even the MB-339 the cockpit textures are outstanding compared to this and the MB-339 was one of the first jets in the sim from IFT. Even the pilot is not animated in the F22 which just seems cheap to me. It's been out for quite a bit of time now and they seem to be hinting at a new project but I hope this plane gets some more love. Just my opinion.
Hello John, Sorry to hear that you aren’t all that happy with your purchase, thanks for leaving your feedback for others though. I think that your criticism is fair; I find the F-22 to be completed to an acceptable visual standard, but it’s nothing to write home about in that regard. That being said, I do think the Raptor has most of IFE’s lineup beat, when it comes to flight modelling / sounds, so it’s swings and roundabouts I suppose. I haven’t actually had a chance to try the jet in quite some time, but if memory serves me correctly, TMS had promised significant and continued updates after release (though I think that was more with regards to the aircraft’s systems). Cheers and all the best : )
The manual of this plane mentions "deploying speed brakes" but then never mentions how to do that?? Anyone know the name of the relevant key binding or where in the cockpit to trigger them?
Yes, well I certainly enjoyed it IB haha. As you say, one never needs too much of an excuse to pretend they’re Maverick for an hour or so : P It was getting dangerously close to having fun in a flight simulator mind you, so we better keep that on the down-low ; ) Cheers!
Thanks very much again Marshie, I’m glad you enjoyed it! A pleasure as always and on a similar note, thank you very much indeed for becoming a channel member! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content to such a degree and it is thoroughly appreciated : ) I did send you a message on Patreon. I don’t know whether you received it (people rarely seem to reply when I send messages there, so I rather wonder how the whole system works)? It’s nothing too exciting haha, but just so you know. . . Thanks again and all the best!
Mmmm i dont know which one is better. I feel like id get more for my buck if i get indiafoxecho's f35. I really love the way the f22 raptor looks though. What do you suggest?
Haha, cheers Piloto! I hope you enjoyed the video then. I would say that it depends on what you're after really: If you want a more accurate systems simulation, definitely go for the F-35 (VTOL and carrier ops are also fun as well). If you want something that flies well, the F-22 is the better jet overall (as Mike alludes to). Both jets have their strengths and weaknesses in the flight modelling department, but the F-22 feels more plausible to me. Otherwise the two products are very similar in terms of quality etc, so it really comes down to personal preference. I hope that helps a little? All the best! : )
Hi Siriax, Primarily you just need to make sure *not* to purchase through the in-sim Marketplace. Any other vendor should be fine (though check the product description of course). I think I purchased from Just Flight if memory serves me correctly, but Simmarket or Orbx may also be options. . . I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )
Thanks very much Sam! Yeah, a very decent offering for the price and certainly rather good fun. As you say, hopefully Top Mach will continue to work on it also. All the best! : )
Hi, awesome video as always. Do you have live weather on? My clouds look quite pixelated compared. My settings are mostly on high and ultra settings. Clouds are on ultra. Cheers
Hi Oli, Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I did have Live Weather on for this yes. I think it really just depends on the weather the sim is trying to depict at the time; sometimes it can look great, other times a bit rubbish. Also, I suspect RUclipss video compression smooths out some of the “blemishes”; I often feel my sim looks better in my videos, than it does in reality haha. I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best! : )
Really enjoyed the review. Looks like a decent product that I hope comes to the xbox. Regarding the F35 does this have any sort of moving map facility as I can't seem to find one (I'm on xbox btw)
Thanks very much Daniel, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I gather the F-22 will be coming to the Xbox yes. So far as I can recall, the F-35 does have a map display, but only with waypoint markers on it; it doesn’t have terrain or features etc marked on it (which I suspect is what you’re asking?). I presume that would be in-line with the real-world aircraft, if India Foxt Echo have chose to model it that way. I’m afraid it’s been quite some time since I’ve had the chance to fly the F-35, so my memory is a little hazy at this point. Cheers and all the best! : )
Another amazing video what a fantastic flight great use of music too. Certainly sold that aircraft. Love the fight. You made it look really easy and I know it’s not. Mav
Haha, well very true Tom and to be fair, I did mention as much towards the end of the video ; ) That being said, I feel both statements are true; clearly it would be impossible to model the F-22 in its entirety, but also the devs (at least on release) have seemingly gone for somewhat simplified systems modelling (with no nuance in fuel flows, JPT’s etc). Cheers! All the best : )
Thank you very much Yoshimiitsu, my pleasure on the video! I don’t have the F-22 installed at the moment, so I’m afraid I can’t check, but if memory serves me correctly, I think you can choose to have the drop tanks default to not being fitted (I’m about 80% sure on that one); if you watch the 10 min mark of the video, that would seem to confirm my assertion. I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )
Hello Greg, I recorded a flight profile using a 3rd party recording tool (this one: flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder) and then replayed the recording back as AI traffic. It’s almost like flying with a ghost I suppose. Unfortunately at the moment, the playback can be a bit jerky but, otherwise it works pretty well (as you can see) I hope that helps! All the best : )
Hi Nick, I’m really sorry, but it’s very hard to know what could be causing such an issue, without knowing exactly what you’re doing, the state of your sim, hardware etc. The only solution I can think to suggest off the top of my head - have you tried uninstalling / reinstalling? You might be better served, reaching out on the MSFS forums, or Top Mach Studios Discord etc (they may well have more of an idea as to what the issue could be). Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one - I do hope you manage to get things sorted. All the best!
Hi Max, I would always recommend purchasing from an external vendor, especially for any military aircraft. As mentioned in the video, if purchased from the in-sim Marketplace, any military aircraft will come without any weapons included (even gun barrels etc will be removed). Further to that, updates on the Marketplace tend to be rather slow, so 3rd party vendors have an advantage there also. I hope that helps. All the best : )
On the centre console click the button below the word MENU, then click the button next to the CFG on the left, then on the right click the button next to SIM and at the bottom should be PG 1/2, click the button below that and and it should show “drop tanks fully disabled”.
Haha, is that so Videotrexx. Maybe the bathymetry is a bit out of date, like most of the photo imagery. That’s a shame though (that the real Lake Mead is so empty). . .
@@IntotheBlueSimulations I know some of the imagery is way out of date. I flew over my house low and slow (MSFS has photogrammetry for my location) and from the two cars in my driveway, at best the imagery is from July 2015!
Haha. I mean on the one hand, it’s insane that we’re even talking about comparing the cars in the driveway (who would have thought we’d ever get to that point!), but on the other hand, if more modern imagery exists (and I’m sure it does), it would be nice to see Asobo using it. Ah well, it’s still pretty amazing overall! ; )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations it surely is crazy that I can fly over my house in a flight sim and recognize cars in my driveway. And now this reminds me of the time over 20 years ago I left my car at work one weekend that I went on a trip to NYC, my workplace at the time was not quite 7 miles south of the airport, and the departure took the airliner directly over my workplace and I saw my car in the parking lot below!
Hope you don't mind being uncle Blue :D me and my daughter watch your vids as soon they are uploaded and when shes in other room and i click your vid she shouts Playplay! meaning plane plane an is stunned by your videos as her father is also. Love you videos mate keep them up
Haha, not at all! That’s incredibly sweet to hear and having had a baby girl quite recently myself, gives me some hope that I might be able to get her into flight simulation one day XD I’m really glad you’re both enjoying the videos! You can tell your daughter that the strange man who flies imaginary planes on the internet says “hi!” ; ) Thanks very much indeed and all the best : )
Hello Andy, I recorded a flight profile using a 3rd party recording tool (this one: flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder) and then replayed the recording back as AI traffic. It’s almost like flying with a ghost I suppose. Unfortunately at the moment, the playback can be a bit jerky. Of course, one could simply meet up with people online, to carry out the same sorts of flights. I hope that helps! All the best : )
At 20.00 I see some significant oscilation (right word? edit: ahh he calls it buffeting, thought that was just some random thing James May says) when its pulling max G's. I downloaded another F22 mod that had the same thing and it was very uncomfortable in VR, the F18 does not have any buffeting under full G's and just pulls a nice smooth turn. Can this be fixed in some way? Its also very immersionbraking since an F22 should not behave this way.
Haha! Well if it's good enough for James May, it's good enough for me! XD That's interesting; I haven't spent much time with the F-18, so I wasn't aware that it doesn't exhibit the same behaviour. Top Mach seemed to suggest that the "buffeting" was somewhat hard coded into the sim, though they have apparently toned it down somewhat (according to the F-22's changelog). Either way, the behaviour is far from ideal and definitely one of the biggest weaknesses of the product when I tried it. Cheers and all the best! : )
For me it's the weakest point, rest looks/feels ok enough. Tried the free version and the oscilation while experimenting high Gs was too distracting I'd say and feels unrealistic. And yep F-18 hasn't this issue. I hope they can fix it so maybe I consider buying the premium version.
It took me 20 min to realize you can only access the "sim" menu from the middle screen, and no other screen ☠️ the instructions are really helpful. I still prefer the F14 tomcat from DC Designs. I think it's a little more polished. But still. For $36 USD the F22 is worth it IMHO. It would be even better if it was $25
If you think this system-less preteen crap is worth $36, you are out of your mind. That's sale price for full fidelity DCS aircraft that took 7 years to make, unlike this weekend project by some undergrad that the f22 is
@@LtRiot so if you compare this $36 F22 to the newly released $35 PMDG 737-600 there is no comparison in terms of realism. That's a fact. However, it's all about perspective. I enjoy both aircraft. Where I live, a movie ticket, some popcorn, and a soda will be about $35, thats not even counting the gas $ spent to get there, or the food afterwards. 3 hours later it's over. So I skipped the movie that week and purchased this. You will never see a study level F22 hit any simulator period. It's highly classified and will remain that way for a very long time. There is a reason no other county has this aircraft. It is what it is. 🤷
Haha, I maaaay have initially wasted a fair few minutes myself, figuring out the same thing Nik XD To each their own of course! The Hawk is still my favourite fast jet in the sim (albeit its not nearly as fast haha); I’ve been hearing good things about the GKS MiG as well - hoping to try that soon : ) All the best!
Hi LN, I haven’t tried the Bredok3d version myself, but from what I have seen, I can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that you’ll be much better off picking up the Top Mach Studios version of the Raptor. The TMS version is basically better in every respect; more accurate, higher quality, a greater number of features, better flight model etc (with further improvements planned). I hope that helps a little. All the best : )
Hi Matanel, You have to remove the fuel tanks via the persistent sim options (as demonstrated in the video, when we looked at the MFD's) and then re-start the flight for the changes to take effect. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
great video, fun to watch! you were again chasing yourself, weren’t you? 😃 btw I also like the now logo and intro, although the sound of a big radial is still closer to my taste. 🙂 and I also appreciate your new mic, much more understandable compared for example to the sailplane test - where the combination of your talking speed and the record quality caused me several difficult moments 😅 just kidding, but this is way better for sure! cheers
Thanks Péter, glad you enjoyed it! Haha, I was indeed chasing my own tail again : P I’m glad you like the new logo. Surprisingly very few people have even mentioned it, but I quite like how it came out overall. I figured it’s a bit more modern / fresh and a bit more “generic” than the previous logo (which might make people think the channel only featured warbirds etc). That was no radial!! That’s was a Spitfire hehe! : O I may bring the engine noise back for the intro, I’m currently looking at options there. I’m really glad the new mic is an improvement! I wasn’t too sure initially, but it seems I have it dialled in a little bit better now and I’ve had a few comments similar to yours. I’m certainly very happy if the audio is a bit better. Haha. Well I wanted to do away with “guys” for a while now, but it never felt quite right *not* saying it. It wasn’t actually 20K that made me change my mind on that one, but my Concorde vid (just didn’t feel quite right somehow, opening the video with “guys” hehe). I might not necessarily stick with “everyone”, but it will do for now ; ) Thanks again for watching and indeed for your feedback! Much appreciated : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations how on earth did you make the SU57 appear as like I guess an NPC? Dude this sounds so fun, I'd love to like record flights in one plane and chase them in another. I'm growing to be a hugely fond of the eurofighter typhoon ! It's incredibly fast. Please let me know how this is done! Really would love to.
Hello James, I use a 3rd party recording tool, which can be found here: flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder Amongst other things, you can record a flight in whichever aircraft you like and then play it back as an AI profile later on (results will vary). It’s a neat little trick, although you can’t strictly “dogfight”, since it doesn’t end up being a very dynamic situation of course. Nevertheless, it can be good fun. I hope the above helps. All the best! : )
Hi ArcticWooof, There doesn't really seem to be any difference, so far as I can tell. I found the following online: "The aircraft first flew in 1997 and was variously designated F-22 and F/A-22 before it formally entered service in December 2005 as the F-22A." I hope that helps. All the best : )
Hi Night Hawk, You have to remove the fuel tanks via the persistent sim options (as demonstrated when looking at the MFD's) and then re-start the flight for the changes to take effect. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thanks for help man that really helped, I’m sorry for the very late reply. As always keep up the amazing work love watching your videos!
Hi Viper, They aren't supposed to. According to the manual, flap deployment is completely automatic in the F-22 (based on speed, gear configuration etc). I hope that helps. All the best : )
Hi René, It’s covered during the first stage of the video: Essentially you need to deselect the wing tanks via the MFD options and then restart the flight for the changes to take effect. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations i already found a way without the need to restart the flight. on mfd u show the left page then drop tanks, open right page, deactivate tanks etc and go out of the mfd menu again. tanks will be no more then.
Haha “it’ll buff out” Gary : P The elevators were actually clear of the runway, it was just as issue with the replay tool I was using (causing the elevators to show as being pitched down, when it fact I was pulling up to keep the nosewheel off). So no boom this time haha! All the best : )
Will this Add-On ever come to Console? because it would be sick to own such an amazing aircraft which it is currently the only aircraft that has fully functioning Thrust Vectoring (Which the aircraft add-ons that are on console don't have Thrust Vectoring Support)
Hello DS, I'm not too sure on this specific addon, but what Next Gen states is certainly correct in general; there are currently some coding issues on the console and this is what has prevented a large number of addons being ported over to date. The issue was initially supposed to be fixed with SU10, but was then pushed back (to when I am not sure). Once the WASM issues are fixed, you should see a multitude of quality addons making their way over the Xbox, including products from the likes of PMDG, Just Flight etc. I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Appreciate the information as what i have heard is it might come in on SU 11 if not then it will be SU 12, and also what are your thoughts on the F-22 by TMS and can it actually pull off the infamous Kvochur Bell Manoeuvre (From Top Gun Maverick if you have seen it)?.
Hi Tudor, You need to remove the fuel tanks via the “Persistent State” options (as demonstrated when looking at the MFD’s during the review) and then you need to restart your flight for the changes to take effect. I hope that helps. All the best : )
These devs need to step it up if they want to charge almost $40 for these "lite" pay wares. I see textures that are garbage. Basic movements that are sloppy and flight behavior that isn't "computational fluid dynamics" but simply juggling FM model numbers which we can do. Wheres the $35 at? I mean I just downloaded a free AREA-51 redo of the base and the attention to detail, effort and time is incredible. U2s, RU, US super planes, stealths, Janet airlines, off base secret area, special forces, accurate building/runway/taxiways. Ground crews working, pilots kicking tires doing pre-checks... I have DCS for "study level" and MSFS is a go to fun sim. I don't necessarily want/need a F-22 that takes a 100 page manual to operate but at least give us WOW that looks incredible. Full deep soundsets and extras like custom ground support. Hell how about a few basic missions? Once again freeware and free mods will keep MSFS going another 25 years NOT devs charging what casual gamers pay for a entire full game for a 1/2 done cool plane they will bore with in 2 weeks.
Hi JimJam, I somewhat agree with your sentiment. I wouldn't describe the F-22 as low effort by any means, but it is currently "lite" as you say and given that one can get a full "study level" jet for less money, the pricing does seem a bit skewed by modern standards. I rarely tend to make an issue of pricing in my videos though, as "value for money" is always a very subjective thing. I think the "trouble" with addons like the F-22; developers know they can charge a premium, as the jet has somewhat of a "prestige" about it. No way a dev would have been able to charge this sort of money for an F-101, done to this level of fidelity (or if they did, they would sell very few copies haha). As always though, we can but vote with our wallets. The Just Flight Hawk costs similar money and that's brilliant in almost every respect. All the best! : )
Hi UST, If you’re referring to the sim itself, MSFS can be purchased either through the Microsoft Store, Steam, or I believe from Aerosoft also. If it’s the Top Mach F-22 you’re after, that can be purchased either from the Just Flight website, through the in-sim Marketplace, or probably through a couple of other 3rd party vendors also. I hope that helps? All the best : )
Hi Ian, Currently, if you're on the PC, the F-22 is available from Just Flight. The aircraft will apparently be coming to the Xbox at a later date. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Hi. I am just a flight sim noob on xbox sx, i know it is a sim but i just want fun arcade joy, do you think the f22 would be a good purchase over the fa18 (stock included in game) what about the x35? Any other better plane? I want great speed, great turns, great everything like arcade
Hi Mauricio, Haha, well "sim", "game", it's whatever you want it to be (so long as you're having fun, that's all that matters)! The default F-18 is about as good as any "arcade" option, but if you're looking for something a bit different, the F-22 ticks a lot of boxes. The F-22, F-35 and DC Designs / India Foxt Echo products, all fall into roughly the same category; ie they have *some* depth to them, but they're still fairly easy to get airborne and throw around. Of all the payware options available, I'd say the F-22 and the F-35 both offer speed and some good fun. The F-22 does tend to buffet in tight turns, which might ruin your enjoyment a little and the F-35 has the advantage of being able to hover also, but the two addons are broadly on a par with one another in terms of quality. I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )
Thanks, i wish the sim would have an arcade mode (like ace combat, hawx, etc) but the f18 is very good for arcade play, i bought both planes and they are almost the same lol, maybe fadter and a little better for turns but still not arcade at all, they still can crash easily
Hi Diogo, As bdshort points out, it’s an issue caused by the replay tool I was using. There was a demonstration of things working correctly, during the first section of the video : ) I hope that clarifies things. All the best!
Hi Borby, Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to say exactly what the problem might be and I can’t test for myself, since I don’t own the console version of the sim. If you’re still having the same issue when starting on the runway, with the engines already running etc, it could well be a bug that needs fixing up. If that’s the case, it might well be worth getting in touch with Top Mach Studios / the retailer from which you purchased the aircraft. Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one, I do hope you manage to get things sorted. All the best!
Hi Nardin, Hi UST, If you’re on the PC, the aircraft can be purchased either from the Just Flight website, through the in-sim Marketplace, or probably through a couple of other 3rd party vendors also. I’m not sure as to whether or not the F-22 has been released on the Marketplace yet. I hope that helps. All the best : )
Hey, As outlined in the video, you will need to deselect the drop tanks via the centre MFD's persistent state options and then restart the flight for the change to take effect. I hope that gets you sorted! All the best : )
Hi Cameron, As you may well know, currently the console has some coding issues, which prevents many addons from working correctly (hence why we see so many addons only coming onto the PC currently). Once the coding issues are fixed up (and this should happen within the next couple of sim updates), you should see a plethora of more complex addons making their way over (including the F-22 perhaps). Hang in there haha ; ) Cheers, all the best! : )
Hi Richie, It's a bit of inherent problem with the sim apparently (Top Mach can't work around it). There isn't really a fix per se (at least I haven't found one), other than entering into turns with less speed. All the best : )
Didn't the November update change how air is simulated in the game with the introduction of helicopters? Do you know if this fixed the odd buffeting when turning? I really want this plane but can't look past the high G buffeting.
Hi Jacob, The sim update did change some of the environmental modelling, but I don’t think that would fix the issue demonstrated here. Top Mach did actually update the F-22 recently though and apparently managed to reduce the buffeting under high g. I’m afraid I haven’t had a chance to try the addon since said update, so can’t comment on how successful the fix was. I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )
There is no Lake Meade. It's now "Mudhole Meade" But aside from that, I just spent my $35 on the in-sim purchase and very disappointed the weapon models were left out. I must find a patch to download and add them back. It's a fighter for the love of Pete. I hate that whole woke softhearted mushy headed politically correct crap. It's supposed to be realism. Okay, then give us realism. If anyone knows how I can get the weapons models, please let me know. I will head to Top Mach Studio and see if they can help. Nice review. Looks like a good sim
So a few others have mentioned VH. That's a shame to hear about the lake, or lack thereof : / Yeah, the whole weapons situation in MSFS is a little bit silly. I know why Asobo do it (to keep the sim's ESRB rating), but the Marketplace issue ought to be made much clearer and devs ought to provide patches on their own website. I hope you managed to resolve the issue in one way or another. . . I'm glad you enjoyed the review! Cheers and all the best : )
Hi Nik, There is a free version of the aircraft (not as detailed as the one you can see in this video) available over at Flghtsim.to. I hope that helps. All the best : )
Hi Digitalsiler, If memory serves me correctly, you need to assign a button to “Set Nosewheel Steering Limit” (or something to that effect). You’ll need to press that, in order to activate the nosewheel steering. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
@Into the Blue Simulations I done did for the fa-18 the problem is if I hit that button whether on accident or intentionally, it will not come back on making taxiing impossible
Are you sure you have the correct button assigned Digitalsiler, sounds like you could have “NWS disconnect” bound instead (perhaps the F-18’s logic is different)? Otherwise, it’s probably a bug by the sounds of it, in which case your best bet would be getting in touch with Top Mach Studios. Sorry, I can’t really be of any more help on that one. I hope you manage to get something figured out!
Hi Einherz, As mentioned, it was the replay tool causing some issues. I did make a demonstration towards the start of the video, showing them both working in the correct sense : ) I hope that clarifies things. All the best!
Indeed Elon, but unfortunately there just aren’t that many recordings like this out there. Sometimes one just has compromised a little on such things ; ) All the best!
Hi Joshua, You can remove the fuel tanks / pylons via the persistent sim options (as demonstrated in the video, when we looked at the MFD's) and then re-start the flight for the changes to take effect (although it sounds as though a restart may no longer be necessary). I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Yeah, it's pretty bad ZB, certainly one of the weakest areas of the product. I gather Top Mach have subsequently addressed the behaviour to some degree, but I haven't had a chance to check the F-22 out again yet. All the best! : )
That’s very kind of you to say and I’m really glad that the content is proving to be useful / reliable : )
Thanks for watching. My pleasure and all the best!
Totally agree.
yes too true

Haha, glad you enjoyed it BerZerk! I sometimes leave a little Easter egg in at the end, just for those that actually made it that far : P
Thanks very much for watching and all the best!
Having finally seen Top Gun 2 not all that long ago, I was "feeling the need for speed" ; )
The F-22 is high quality if not high fidelity, though I gather Top Mach plan to continue to work on the aircraft, adding further systems etc.
Gah, someone else pointed out the same thing re Lake Meade. That's a sad state of affairs isn't it.
All the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations I may have missed something for the news or something, what’s going on with lake Meade?
Hi JYAP,
Re Lake Mead, apparently there isn’t much of a lake left (sadly). . . I believe due to both environmental and human factors, the lake has almost been run dry, so MSFS’ depiction of it is rather “generous”.
I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
Fantastic stream once again
I remember the F22 fighter game on the Sega maga drive system back in the 90s I think the graphics and immersion has come along way since then lol 😆.
Thank you very much sir, glad you enjoyed it!
Haha, I think the first console I ever tried was a Sega Mega Drive; was it “study level” though?! : P
My gosh, the F-22 must have been a twinkle in Lockheed Martin’s eye back then? XD
I’m happy to say that we have indeed moved on a little since then. It’s rather unfathomable just how far we have actually come when you look back!
All the best : )
lol i was remembering the same hahahah did not even imagine that someone would recall that one kkkk and it was a awful game by they way frustrating fps hahahaha
He talks like a pilot talking in a commercial flight, love it. Its the small details
Man i cant wait to fly this thing on my Xbox Series X. I hope it will be soon
Let's hope so then Michael! I do hope you enjoy it when the time comes : )

As always a fantastic review! You helped me a lot to decide what birds to get. Loved that blast at the very end of the video!
Thanks very much Elder! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the video and indeed that you're finding the content useful in general.
Haha, glad you caught that one! I sometimes leave a little Easter egg in at the end, just to see who's made it that far : P

The F-18 is in the game. I am from Calgary so I'm aware of the Cold Lake base and yeah, I made a point to fly the F-18 out of Cold Lake 😂.
Will the developers dumb it down for Xbox? Really hope not.
I cannot get the terrain map to work.. Otherwise I do really enjoy flying this plane
Wow some people didn’t pay attention to the video where he explains that the replay tool made the flight surfaces behave incorrectly 😂 4:22
This aircraft looks promising, I do hope they keep updating it in the future.
Hehe, welcome to the world of YouTubing Hartbreak! I'd say a good +60% of the questions I receive, are answered in the video, manual, or via a quick google search. I'm always more than happy to help of course, but it's a bit galling replying to questions that have already been answered XD
Yeah, it sounds like Top Mach have plans to continue to work on the F-22, so it's shaping up to be cracking addon : )
All the best!
All the best : )
We are still making advancements of course, but having a slightly smaller, faster iPhone every couple of years - hardly very inspiring. . . Still, there are good people out there and one good idea can still end up changing the world ; )
Thanks again!

Such a beautiful bird!
Hi SN,
Do you know, I was never a big fan of the looks of the F-22, but after spending some solid time looking at it during the recording, I really like it now haha.
Cheers mate
Wish Aerosoft would do a F16 like they did in FSX. To me that is the best jet I've seen and flown.
Hello John,
Sorry to hear that you aren’t all that happy with your purchase, thanks for leaving your feedback for others though.
Look like decent fun for the money, tearing about the place in fast jests is always fun. GG ITB
Yes, well I certainly enjoyed it IB haha. As you say, one never needs too much of an excuse to pretend they’re Maverick for an hour or so : P
It was getting dangerously close to having fun in a flight simulator mind you, so we better keep that on the down-low ; )
Cheers!
Another excellent review. Thanks for all you do ItB
Thanks very much again Marshie, I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I did send you a message on Patreon. I don’t know whether you received it (people rarely seem to reply when I send messages there, so I rather wonder how the whole system works)? It’s nothing too exciting haha, but just so you know. . .

Yesssssss. You are the man. Now time to realx and watch the f22. I might get it depending on your thoughts and the way it behaves
Mmmm i dont know which one is better. I feel like id get more for my buck if i get indiafoxecho's f35. I really love the way the f22 raptor looks though. What do you suggest?
@@piloto2412 f-35 does not fly good
Haha, cheers Piloto!
This will be the first aircraft I purchase for the sim, where should I purchase it to get the weapons?
Hi Siriax,
Primarily you just need to make sure *not* to purchase through the in-sim Marketplace. Any other vendor should be fine (though check the product description of course). I think I purchased from Just Flight if memory serves me correctly, but Simmarket or Orbx may also be options. . .
I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )
great review as always. good price to buy. a few updates im shure is coming
Thanks very much Sam!
Yeah, a very decent offering for the price and certainly rather good fun. As you say, hopefully Top Mach will continue to work on it also.
All the best! : )
During takeoff, shouldn't the thrust vectoring nozzles have turned the opposite way?
Yeah, horizontal stabilizers too.
It's a symptom of the replay tool.
Like he mentioned in the video, it’s the fault of the replay tool he’s using.
@@TopMachStudios Thanks for clarifying. Any news on if the model will be coming to Xbox soon?

Hi, awesome video as always. Do you have live weather on? My clouds look quite pixelated compared. My settings are mostly on high and ultra settings. Clouds are on ultra. Cheers
Hi Oli,
Thanks very much, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Mav

A pleasure as always!
"Many of the systems behind those switches are somewhat simplified...."
I think you mean "Classified".😉
Haha, well very true Tom and to be fair, I did mention as much towards the end of the video ; )
That being said, I feel both statements are true; clearly it would be impossible to model the F-22 in its entirety, but also the devs (at least on release) have seemingly gone for somewhat simplified systems modelling (with no nuance in fuel flows, JPT’s etc).
Cheers! All the best : )
Thank You for a great review, can i ask about dropping tanks from cnfg. It can be turned off pernamently or its need to be done everytime
I know this video is old, but what was the recording software that lets you chase a prerecorded flight? Would love that
Hello Greg,
I recorded a flight profile using a 3rd party recording tool (this one: flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder) and then replayed the recording back as AI traffic. It’s almost like flying with a ghost I suppose. Unfortunately at the moment, the playback can be a bit jerky but, otherwise it works pretty well (as you can see)
I hope that helps! All the best : )
how come none of my buttons inside the cockpit work?? For example, I push auto pilot but the screen doesnt change... HELP
Hi Nick,
I’m really sorry, but it’s very hard to know what could be causing such an issue, without knowing exactly what you’re doing, the state of your sim, hardware etc.
Should I buy it from the Sim Market Place or the website?
Hi Max,
I would always recommend purchasing from an external vendor, especially for any military aircraft.
Hi, I just recently bought this plane and there are what I think are external fuel pods stored on the wings. Any way to get rid of them?
On the centre console click the button below the word MENU, then click the button next to the CFG on the left, then on the right click the button next to SIM and at the bottom should be PG 1/2, click the button below that and and it should show “drop tanks fully disabled”.
Thank you very much for offering up the help МеДвеДb! Hugely appreciated : )
Hi Ami,
Hopefully МеДвеДb’s reply gets you pointed in the right direction? Enjoy the Raptor! All the best : )
There's way too much water in Lake Mead.
That’s incredibly sweet to hear and having had a baby girl quite recently myself, gives me some hope that I might be able to get her into flight simulation one day XD
I’m really glad you’re both enjoying the videos! You can tell your daughter that the strange man who flies imaginary planes on the internet says “hi!” ; )
Thanks very much indeed and all the best : )
how do you do the dog fight part with the other aircraft?
Hello Andy,
I recorded a flight profile using a 3rd party recording tool (this one: flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder) and then replayed the recording back as AI traffic. It’s almost like flying with a ghost I suppose.
XD
That's interesting; I haven't spent much time with the F-18, so I wasn't aware that it doesn't exhibit the same behaviour.
Haha, I maaaay have initially wasted a fair few minutes myself, figuring out the same thing Nik XD
To each their own of course! The Hawk is still my favourite fast jet in the sim (albeit its not nearly as fast haha); I’ve been hearing good things about the GKS MiG as well - hoping to try that soon : )
All the best!
Is it better than BREDOK3D F22 RAPTOR ? I dont know wich one I should take
Hi LN,
I haven’t tried the Bredok3d version myself, but from what I have seen, I can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that you’ll be much better off picking up the Top Mach Studios version of the Raptor. The TMS version is basically better in every respect; more accurate, higher quality, a greater number of features, better flight model etc (with further improvements planned).
I hope that helps a little. All the best : )
Bredok3d? more like broken3d don't buy anything from that developer
Great video! Does the sonic boom work for the plane, when you pass mach 1?
I've Tried to Get Rid of The Fuel Tank by Depleting The Right/Left Aux, Can Someone Explain To Me How To Get Rid Of The Fuel Tank.
Hi Matanel,
You have to remove the fuel tanks via the persistent sim options (as demonstrated in the video, when we looked at the MFD's) and then re-start the flight for the changes to take effect.
I hope that helps. All the best! : )
great video, fun to watch! you were again chasing yourself, weren’t you? 😃
btw I also like the now logo and intro, although the sound of a big radial is still closer to my taste. 🙂
and I also appreciate your new mic, much more understandable compared for example to the sailplane test - where the combination of your talking speed and the record quality caused me several difficult moments 😅 just kidding, but this is way better for sure!
cheers
and one more little difference. “guys” was changed to “everyone”. above 20k man needs to show some seriousness, huh? 😃
Thanks Péter, glad you enjoyed it! Haha, I was indeed chasing my own tail again : P
I’m glad you like the new logo.
I might not necessarily stick with “everyone”, but it will do for now ; )
Thanks again for watching and indeed for your feedback! Much appreciated : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations how on earth did you make the SU57 appear as like I guess an NPC? Dude this sounds so fun, I'd love to like record flights in one plane and chase them in another. Hello James,
I use a 3rd party recording tool, which can be found here:
flightsim.to/file/8163/flight-recorder
Amongst other things, you can record a flight in whichever aircraft you like and then play it back as an AI profile later on (results will vary). It’s a neat little trick, although you can’t strictly “dogfight”, since it doesn’t end up being a very dynamic situation of course. Nevertheless, it can be good fun.
I hope the above helps. All the best! : )
Looks like fun, but I really think the F35 looks and flies better, I've spent a lot of time in the F35 and I can't see me doing that in the F22 sadly.
The f35 is way worse in my taste, the f22 from tms seems to be way better

The F35 has way better textures in my opinion. Indiafoxtecho always do a great job at that.

whats the difference between F-22 and the F-22A
Hi ArcticWooof,
There doesn't really seem to be any difference, so far as I can tell. I found the following online:
"The aircraft first flew in 1997 and was variously designated F-22 and F/A-22 before it formally entered service in December 2005 as the F-22A."
I hope that helps. All the best : )
How do you remove the external fuel tanks?

You have to remove the fuel tanks via the persistent sim options (as demonstrated when looking at the MFD's) and then re-start the flight for the changes to take effect.

The flaps just don’t deploy for me, I press the keybind and nothing…. Does anyone know a fix?
Hi Viper,
They aren't supposed to. According to the manual, flap deployment is completely automatic in the F-22 (based on speed, gear configuration etc).
I hope that helps. All the best : )
and how exactly do u get those tanks off of the wings?
Hi René,
It’s covered during the first stage of the video: Essentially you need to deselect the wing tanks via the MFD options and then restart the flight for the changes to take effect.
I hope that helps. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations i already found a way without the need to restart the flight. on mfd u show the left page then drop tanks, open right page, deactivate tanks etc and go out of the mfd menu again. tanks will be no more then.
Ah ok, they must have updated the jet then. Glad you got it sorted : )
Does it have a sonic boom?
Elevators hit the runway on touch down ;) boom :p
Haha “it’ll buff out” Gary : P
The elevators were actually clear of the runway, it was just as issue with the replay tool I was using (causing the elevators to show as being pitched down, when it fact I was pulling up to keep the nosewheel off). So no boom this time haha!

Will this Add-On ever come to Console? because it would be sick to own such an amazing aircraft which it is currently the only aircraft that has fully functioning Thrust Vectoring (Which the aircraft add-ons that are on console don't have Thrust Vectoring Support)
Yes it will come to console. We need WASM support for this on Xbox..... Maybe next month with the next big update... Let us hope
Hello DS,
I'm not too sure on this specific addon, but what Next Gen states is certainly correct in general; there are currently some coding issues on the console and this is what has prevented a large number of addons being ported over to date.
I’m a little late lol, I have it on my series x
how do you take off the drop tanks?
Hi Tudor,
You need to remove the fuel tanks via the “Persistent State” options (as demonstrated when looking at the MFD’s during the review) and then you need to restart your flight for the changes to take effect.
Hi JimJam,
I somewhat agree with your sentiment.
where do you buy this game?
Hi UST,
If you’re referring to the sim itself, MSFS can be purchased either through the Microsoft Store, Steam, or I believe from Aerosoft also. If it’s the Top Mach F-22 you’re after, that can be purchased either from the Just Flight website, through the in-sim Marketplace, or probably through a couple of other 3rd party vendors also.
I hope that helps? All the best : )
Hello, how can I get the F-22 in msfs?
Hi Ian,
Currently, if you're on the PC, the F-22 is available from Just Flight.
Hi Mauricio,
Haha, well "sim", "game", it's whatever you want it to be (so long as you're having fun, that's all that matters)!
@@IntotheBlueSimulations thanks
Thanks, i wish the sim would have an arcade mode (like ace combat, hawx, etc) but the f18 is very good for arcade play, i bought both planes and they are almost the same lol, maybe fadter and a little better for turns but still not arcade at all, they still can crash easily

Hi Borby,
Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to say exactly what the problem might be and I can’t test for myself, since I don’t own the console version of the sim. If you’re still having the same issue when starting on the runway, with the engines already running etc, it could well be a bug that needs fixing up. If that’s the case, it might well be worth getting in touch with Top Mach Studios / the retailer from which you purchased the aircraft.

wish xbox would get the TMS F22, the f 22 we have sucks. this one would be awesome. i want to do F22 demos with it.
Hi Cameron,
As you may well know, currently the console has some coding issues, which prevents many addons from working correctly (hence why we see so many addons only coming onto the PC currently). Once the coding issues are fixed up (and this should happen within the next couple of sim updates), you should see a plethora of more complex addons making their way over (including the F-22 perhaps). Hang in there haha ; )
Cheers, all the best! : )
does anyone have their own fix for the wobble that the aircraft does when turning? 20:07
Hi Richie,
It's a bit of inherent problem with the sim apparently (Top Mach can't work around it).
Hi Jacob,
The sim update did change some of the environmental modelling, but I don’t think that would fix the issue demonstrated here. Top Mach did actually update the F-22 recently though and apparently managed to reduce the buffeting under high g. I’m afraid I haven’t had a chance to try the addon since said update, so can’t comment on how successful the fix was.
I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )

Okay, then give us realism. If anyone knows how I can get the weapons models, please let me know. I will head to Top Mach Studio and see if they can help. Nice review. Looks like a good sim
So a few others have mentioned VH. That's a shame to hear about the lake, or lack thereof : /
Yeah, the whole weapons situation in MSFS is a little bit silly. I know why Asobo do it (to keep the sim's ESRB rating), but the Marketplace issue ought to be made much clearer and devs ought to provide patches on their own website. I hope you managed to resolve the issue in one way or another. . .

the problem is if I hit that button whether on accident or intentionally, it will not come back on making taxiing impossible
