As an observer, it's interesting to note the privilege Aaliyah has in being able to take time off from school to focus on herself, stay at home with her parents, and take her time to figure out her next steps in an unrushed, totally psychologically safe manner. Unimaginable for so many people. I am not saying Aaliyah should not avail this privilege - she is lucky to be able to, and she can and should do whatever she feels like doing for her well being.
I am only acknowledging that so many people cannot afford this privilege, and we must be empathetic and compassionate to them and their struggles. It is not a level playing field, at all.
