His platoon dumbfounded; Private Joseph Richardson took matters into his own hands. Grasping a bazooka Joe sought to break up the German counterattack.

Oscar Sapp, Jr., SGM (Ret.) -MACON - Oscar Sapp, Jr., 84, died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2P.M., Sunday at Ingleside Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Hoskins and Dr. Timothy McCoy officiating. A service with Military Honors will follow at the gravesite of his daughter, Carole Brooxie Sapp in Macon Memorial Park. Burial will be at 1P.M. CST Monday in Memory Hills Cemetery, Albertville, AL. The family will meet friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Saturday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and may be contacted at the residence. They suggest that memorial contributions be made to Glenwood Hills United Methodist Church, 3357 Rice Mill Road, Macon 31206. -Mr. Sapp, son of the late Oscar and Clyde Dunn Sapp, was born in Dodge County and was a graduate of Eastman High School. He was a member of Glenwood Hills United Methodist Church. Mr. Sapp served with the U.S. Army from 1941 to April 1962 and was the recipient of the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Bronze Star Medal, Commendation Medal w/pendant, the Army Commendation medal w/oak leaf cluster, the Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/bronze star, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal w/Japan clasp, Expert Infantryman's Badge and Master Parachutists Wings. In August of 1967, Mr. Sapp started the ROTC Program at Lanier High School retiring February 1, 1985.
The actors may have been soldiers, but it’s obvious that the director never was.
