I think The Boss knew Ocelot was her son. Or at least she had some sense of it. When Snake loses his eye to Ocelot, she instantly slaps him. She doesn't reprimand him as a soldier would reprimand another, regardless of rank. It's almost like her maternal instinct kicked in to punish her son's mistake. Whereas she violently shoves Volgin to the floor when he tries to interfere at some point when she's fighting Snake.

This was a great video, probably even better than the one on The Boss. The biggest thing I think you could've elaborated more upon is how Big Boss changed in between Peace Walker and the original MSX games. Although you said if you didn't agree with him Big Boss wouldn't let you join him, that actually isn't true by Metal Gear 2, where quite literally every returning character from the first game besides Snake was saved and taken in by Big Boss. His philosophy on soldiers had also fully taken root, with him viewing war as simply the nature of existence, which is why he talked about being liberated. I honestly think a part of him always thought this way even before MG2 as a result of him working as a soldier under The Boss from such an early age.
