Thank you so much for your thorough review of the HP Sprocket 2nd Edition Portable Photo Printer! Very helpful! Looks like it would be a fun little printer to create a collage of photos of a favorite place or event that brings back great memories. The sticky back of the photo paper is great - you could stick photos taken directly to poster board and hang on the wall, place in a scrapbook or even make cards for family and friends. I was thinking that this would be a great birthday present for my 14 year old nephew. Thank you for sharing your photos! Your daughter is so cute!
Yeah me too. first thing i looked was the Mac SE at the back and i was like WOW. THis guy is an apple fan. and also other things he's got on the shelf, a Newton , 3.5" and 5" floppy disk. :)
My daughter got one of these for Xmas, managed to pick one up in a deal. She totally loves it and has created quite a scrapbook already. Print quality isn't the best as Lon says, but its good enough for what it is. Paper is expensive though!
Excellent review. Best I have seen on You Tube. You held my interest and everything you said seems important to know. Your daughter is an absolutely adorable subject for your photography. Thank you for posting this!
Very thorough review - great that you actually worked through the functions, showed the picture comparison and talked through the plus and minuses. We are thinking of getting this for our granddaughter and concerned about the security of the GPS data and social media functions for younger kids...
I recently purchased my HP Sprocket 200 last month for Christmas and I used it 4 times the fourth time being the recent time that I used it which it was approximately 2 days ago. I noticed tiny red splotches mostly on the black parts of my printed photos. The last recent photo that I printed from my HP Sprocket 200 I am now starting to see faint streak/lines on the edges of the printed photo. I don’t know what’s causing the quality to decline I charged my printer till the battery light turned green and I even checked my Firmware and it was up to its current update. Although the only thing that I haven’t done was clean the print roller, but when I search on how to clean my Sprocket printer it says to use a blank sheet of Zink paper and cut one inch and expose sticky part to run through the printer roller in order to get rid of the dust and other debris which I think it’s a waste of Zink paper and Zink paper is expensive. Which is why I didn’t want to do that printer cleaning method I just blowing out the dust in the printer instead which I don’t think I should be doing that either. I seriously don’t know what to do I tried searching to see if other people had the same problem as me and it turned out that there were complaints of streak and lines in the photos after printing. I was thinking about returning or replacing my HP Sprocket 200, but that doesn’t seem to work cause I read that people who had the problem replaced their printer and they ended up having the same problem with their replacement. I tried seeing reviews for other different portable mini Zink technology printers and I am out of luck with it cause they all seem to have the same problem with photo quality that has steaks/lines on their printed photos. 😰
I own a sprocket printer. It is a fun little printer that is ok for quick sticker type photos. Much more fun than you might realize. The ok print quality is a hit and miss dependent on the photo you want to print. Some are actually not bad. No it is not a high end printer and doesn't try to be. But for a tiny fit in your pocket instant printer it works well. You'll have all the young folks enjoying the prints that they can stick in some interesting places. My grand kids love it.
Nice to hear that. It was my opinion after watching the video. Fun. So many mini's of big things like this leave you feeling you wasted your money. If you want this for reasons like in the video and as you describe it doesnt disappoint from what I can see. Thanks for commenting! It was helpful to me.
With a Canon Selphy you can print from a computer. Directly from Photoshop, if you like. Works great for printing out 6 passport photos on one sheet. But there’s no battery in the printer, and it’s much bigger. Print quality is better, but not up to photographic prints.
This looks like a fun device for a youngster to play around with. It's too bad it relies on HP's Sprocket app to recognize the AR features, because who knows 20 years form now if you'll be able to access it. I think for a grown up they'll want maybe better picture quality and a 4x6 size option. And what's with that awful speckle paint and stupid roku ribbon?
Hi! Do you know if multiple devices can reveal the content from a video if the sprocket app is linked to the same google photos account on those devices? Thank you in advance for your answer!
I have a question about the HP Spocket. Will it printout miniature-sized documents from phones and computers? It looks like a FASCINATING product! I really want one---in black!
Great video thanks. Im not in love with the units speckled design, I love my gold original HP Sprocket. However the magnetic top is a great idea as I do find it a bit awkward to change the paper with its sliding lid thats gets stuck every now and then. The prints are fractionally faster and the quality is a little better. Im not sure if its enough for me to upgrade but if you dont have one definitely grab this. I use mine for photo journalling and its brilliant love this little device. The AR is a fun addition too.
Hey ... can any one tell me if I can upload a photo from a different software like “light room” and print it via this printer or does it have to be hp app ?
Hey.......as it's a fun thing and not to be taken as a high quality printer I would want to make a calendar for the year and print 365 photos, edited to have the date etc.........that would cost a bit but it's for fun to send to my relatives in the far flung parts of the empire just to let them know we're still alive and kicking.
Polaroid paper is better quality ! Just watched a demo on 5 different printers and the quality was great . Hp paper quality is blah . Just my opinion , Thanks 😅
If you feel silly for asking this it took me forever to figure out. I looked all over for ink refill information before I figured it out. So the 50 cents a sheet includes ink which is a small consolation.
Great video! I bought one of these yesterday but I have taken it back for a refund. Was very disappointed in the quality for the price. I noticed it made people’s faces look too pink! I wouldn’t recommend this product, especially because the film can be quite pricey!
Someone please help. I printed a picture but only my phone can reveal the video. How can my girlfriend use her phone to reveal the video that i did? Today is her birthday and i thought it would be cool to put it in her card but i want to make sure when she comes home, she can use her phone to see the video. Please help.

never mind the video. I am impressed with the Apple's that you have behind you!
Carol St Andrew yeah... is that a IIGS next to the SE?! Haven’t seen one since intermediate school (1992)
Alex Shepherd and I see a newton and an original iPod! I had SEs in college lab.

Same.
I have the original, it's awesome, but now I want this one haha

Mine always printed badly and it’s a replacement, so frustrated 😭
Do you recommend it ? i have a baby and want to keep the image that we pick on the mobile

The battery is optional. You can edit your pics using the Sprocket app and print it on the Selphy.
They also do one for 6x4 prints.
Thanks. This helped me with a purchase for my teenage daughter. Keep up the good work. ^_^
* Good Idea
* Very Informative
Cute. Keep the blue paper!!
Which instant printer prints the best quality?
I have been watching you tubes on junk journaling and everyone who mentions it says this one.
Sprockets! ! Now We Dance! !! :)
Your reviews are the best!
Glad you like them!
how many photos can HP Sprocket do?
Like is there posibility to somehow change the colours in it as in the normal printer? thanks for answer
This man is a legend
The live photo is for all HP models ?
BaBy Bash I think only for this one
Is this compatible with an HP laptop as well?
I have the sprocket 200 and my photos keep printing with a pink tint, does anyone know how to fix it?
Top notch video! I think HP owes you something nice!
Thanks so much!!!my aunt bought one sprocket for me but I don’t know how to fix it cause I have no idea with technology.THANKSSSS!!
Hello @Lon.TV how do you see the movie in the Photo with AR? I can see mine but only with the app and only show in fullscreen not with in the AR .

Not only a 4x6 version, but who needs it to be a sticker?
@@leelauer517 Everyone who journals :)
The speckle paint is for the AR feature I think and the ribbon I'm sure is for tethering it to a bag or a wrist band or something
I just got this for Christmas. My phone can’t even find the Printer. ☹️ please help what else I need to do!!!
K'hem Laing same i cant figure it out
@@haleyfawn1473 same, any idea?
Jesse Brooks turns out I reset the printer and connected to Bluetooth and it works fine
Remov e any Bluetooth devices connected to your phone and try again
Can I use Polaroid paper?(zink)
Hi! Do you know if multiple devices can reveal the content from a video if the sprocket app is linked to the same google photos account on those devices? Thank you in advance for your answer!
Hi! May I ask, what happens if you laminate the photo? will it turn black? Thanks
Yeah I think it’ll degrade the image if you apply a significant heat source to it
Great video as always! If I wasn't already invested in the Moto Mod Ecosystem with my wife I'd definitely consider a product like this!
Great, AMAZING review! Thank you!!!!
I really enjoyed this review! Thanks!
anyone know what the directions mean when it tells you to "scan with app to reveal magic"?
I have a question about the HP Spocket. Will it printout miniature-sized documents from phones and computers? It looks like a FASCINATING product! I really want one---in black!
I suppose you could if you took a picture of the document but it won't print directly from Word, etc.
Great video thanks. Im not in love with the units speckled design, I love my gold original HP Sprocket. Thank you for the review it was very helpful!
how long does the photo last, and discolours after a month or year
Arco Mxxnxn it’s supposed to last about over 20yrs. Maybe even up to about 50
cannon has portable printer also. which one is better?_?
btw, can we juz use normal papers instead of buying those expensive photo paper?
It's zink paper. Nothing will happen if you'll use normal paper. :/ sorry
@@rosemarin4333 what if for normal photo paper, what will happen if i use that? thx
Suzanne Fong there will be nothing on the normal paper since it doesn’t have ink. That’s why they use zink paper
Hey ... can any one tell me if I can upload a photo from a different software like “light room” and print it via this printer or does it have to be hp app ?
HP app is required.

Can you link to the demo? Could you use Polaroid paper in the Sprocket?
May I ask for linking the video to the Instagram account for the AR, does the person watching it need an Sprocket app to access it?
look at the computers in the back! ;O;
is it better than the 1st HP sproket? I'm more concerned the photo quality
Sou Khun yeah, he had mentioned the quality is a little better than the 1st gen
How do u refill the ink???
There is no ink, everything is in each sheet.
Yep. Just like the old Polaroid cameras.
No ink
If you feel silly for asking this it took me forever to figure out. I looked all over for ink refill information before I figured it out. So the 50 cents a sheet includes ink which is a small consolation.
Fantastic review, thx.
Use the Canon zink paper with these (recycle or skip HP blue card), much better quality
Great video!
I bought one of these yesterday but I have taken it back for a refund. Was very disappointed in the quality for the price.
I noticed it made people’s faces look too pink!
I wouldn’t recommend this product, especially because the film can be quite pricey!
Great video! Very informative Thank you!
Neat piece of tech but it seems to me an old poloroid instant print camera does it better (despite the flaws). And $129 base cost ouch...
They are less on Ebay. Quite a bit actually. For new units.
It reminds me one of those Canon mini printers from the early 2000's
Your printers Rs??
Does it have a Polaroid frame?
Someone please help. I printed a picture but only my phone can reveal the video. How can my girlfriend use her phone to reveal the video that i did? Today is her birthday and i thought it would be cool to put it in her card but i want to make sure when she comes home, she can use her phone to see the video. Please help.
The AR mode is so unpractical
What about the ink?
It's zero ink, works with light exposure

owsoooooo
I hate it so much.
btw, can we juz use normal papers to print instead of buying those expensive photo paper?
No it doesnt use ink, it uses zink technology, the photo papers have heat reactive crystals I believe so you have to use the official photo packs.
@@ImpatientTurtle ye I knew it's not using ink
@@ImpatientTurtle still thx ye
