I think most women don't even know how big are those numbers. The average length is about 5.2" (13,2cm) with a gith of about 4.5" (11.5cm) and it should be enough for the majority of women. Saying anything smaller than 6" is "small" is just not true. You are diagnosed with micropenis by a doctor only if the length is less than 2.8" (7.11cm). There is nothing wrong about having a preference but we should also be real. In my opinion, most have exaggerated expectations for two reasons: 1) society pushes us to believe certain stereotypes 2) they are probably based on penises they have already seen and which were probably shorter than stated, many men say they have bigger than it really is, so it stands to reason that if the men you've been with say they're 6" but they're actually 5" (or less) you're going to have the wrong expectations.

I happen to be exactly average in size according to Wikipedia´s article about penis size. Possibly just a little larger in girth but average length. When you cover the ruler you can get an honest answer. But when they see the number, they just wanna say something that's more than average because in today's society it's a crime to be average or to want average. If the average is 2, they want 3. If the average is 7, they want 8.

Covering the ruler is a good idea. But my complaint would be that a standard ruler is 12 inches and people will gravitate to the midpoint as they'll still have a rough idea of where the numbers are. I've seen a few videos that oddly had to do with construction and they walked around with a construction tape and had the people pull out the tape to what they believe is 6", but of course had the numbers facing away. Like "pull out the tape to your preferred length" could be the way.
