When I hear 1994 I think a couple of years ago then it gradually sinks in how long ago that was.
I feel like lot of people don't realise how fast nature can take something back without even the most basic maintenance. I love these vids, keep em going!
Videos in a few weeks: "My rake is currently being worked on, so I brought my Craftsman lawn mower to get through all this sludge over this grate. Vppp, BRRRRRRRR "Look at that whirlpool!" Love this channel so much!
Craftsman makes great lawn mowers, I've had a few of them and have went through 2 -3 foot tall grass, hit sticks, metal and one time a brick, but they still keep going. Also Happy 4th of July!
Here in the Netherlands 🇳🇱, we don't mow everything( not private propertys), we leave a big piece of land pure. That's for the bees and other insects. And also for the flowers in the wild.
This is a yard? Wow. I'm jealous now. So much nature! I just would build a tiny house inbetween and live in my own little forest. The person living there has to be very lucky
I used to mow with a small old tractor that was handed down to me until the starter burned up. But it otherwise was a perfect machine and it was fun to use. I think old machinery is the best because it a lot more simple and easy to work on.
That's a beast of a mower. I was about to mention it reminded me of the craftsman I had for over 5 years paid $5 for it. Needed nothing but gas annual oil change and a blade sharpened from time to time. I did have to replace an o-ring in the carb when i first got it.
That 94 mower has a Tumcumseh in it. I have a Lawn Boy with a Tumcumseh from 2008, looks exactly the same as far as primer and air filter. Keep the oil changed every year and have replaced the ignition coil but it starts first pull. I fortunately have access to ethanol free gas, 90 octane, which I run in all my small engine equipment and it makes a HUGE difference as far as gummed up carbs and stale gas. I had my motorcycle in storage 3 or 4 years (don't remember, at least 3). After putting a new battery in it, started right up like normal. The gas did smell but I ran it anyway. If you can get E0 (0% ethanol/ethanol free) it's what you want. Don't need no stabilizers, blah blah, and all that crap to store over off seasons. A tip on the primer, and this is what I've found. 3 times is fine, but press it in and hold it for a second, then let it out. press, hold 1 sec, press, hold 1 sec, press, hold 1 sec. Pull and it's starts.
Holy Smokes, Batman! that sure is a big lawn to be pushing around a lawn mower. I'm glad it's self propelled at the very least. I'd have to buy myself a riding mower if I had to maintain that much of an area. whew, I need a nap after watching all that yard maintenance!
I can't believe what you just said about mowing the lawn once a week. Where I live, if you don't mow AT LEAST once a week, then you might as well bale the grass because there will be so much cut grass on top of the mowed grass. I usually have to mow every 4 to 5 days.
I got a free garden tractor with a 42” deck and a 40” two stage snowblower. Tractor is a 13hp. All it needed was a gas tank (smashed) and a carb clean. Been working perfectly for years since
My father has a snowblower and leafblower from the 1980’s and they still work magically. The leafblower blows leaves 2 feet high effortlessly 10 feet back. A thin layer of leaves will be cleaned in only 1 pass. The snowblower can eat through 3 feet of snow no problem, it tosses it about 8-10 feet too depending on the slope of the chute. Those machines work better than anything nowadays
Its funny that he is mowing. I just started watching mowing videos and find them quite soothing. There are a ton of people doing videos on mowing. My favorite is Blade Mate. He does huge jobs and is very interesting. I love to mow too. Just not 7 acres.
I always like your videos (literally) but this one I loved because you were doing yardwork I appreciate that you don’t put music in your videos like everybody else does(they think it makes the video better but if your video is good enough you don’t need it) it ruins the video I would prefer it to be silent like you did in this video than to have music in it again thank you
A good tip is to clean and put oil on your lawn mower and hedge trimmer after use. Grass and hedge residue is corrosive,. I wipe my lawn mower blade with an oily rag and use an oil spray can on my hedge trimmer blade. Great video as always.
I love watching and listening to lawns being mowed this was a super great video. I would have preferred that it wasn't speed up as much but it was still awesome!
Use a toro recycler at work that here in Scotland cost a fortune, its absolute trash, slight bit of moisture and it clogs up in seconds. Meanwhile my 1982 Briggs will chew and spit out whatever you throw at it, as well as my 1990’s Honda Izzy.
Best purchase I made for my 2 acres is a Taz push string-trimmer. It pushes like a lawn mower, but its a big string trimmer. Took down all the grass on my property (it was taller than me!) AND all the overgrown crap around and in the trees. AND my disabled ass can start it with one pull :) I use it now every week to keep the grass around my gray water sprinklers short, even if I don't mow the entire yard...and I have a big riding mower for the rest of the yard. 2 acres never sounds like much until you have to mow it! LOL
The other week I got a troy bilt mower. Self propelled. Rear wheel drive verse front wheel. Does everything. B &s engine. If you cant get to a store a bike brake cable will work as a throttle cable. The diaphragm is probly worn out for the bulb. Replace it and no more 30 presses just 3 or so
If you ever come across one of those "anti-beaver" culverts that you described around the 16minute could you film it and point it out? It sounds interesting. Thanks. 😺
The amount plants and weeds can grow between March and July is mental. I volunteer on a railway and what was formerly clear track, you now cant see the rails for plants. Good work out there though!
proper maintenance goes a long way. my issue is rear baffles. many are plastic nowadays, and that's the one the wheel and handle assembly connect to. I'm on my third rear baffle on my Toro Recycler.
Have a cub cadet lawn tractor 2013 after 300 hours the axel broke need to replace whole trans axel. Total crap machine. yeah it doesn't take long, when we moved off our farm, we went back to the house a month or two after we moved out and it looked like a wild area, the lawn had grown so long and weeds grew up so fast and high
