The worst video you've done. Watch Atozy's video and learn to do what he does and listen to both parts of the story. You are biased and clearly lack any journalistic integrity
This. You can't help people that actually don't want the type of help you offer (as in, I'm sure they enjoyed the money, but they obviously didn't use it the way donators intended)
they r clearly not capable of managing their own finances - they should have someone whos in their right mind doing it for them. I don't know what Mark was thinking sending them chunks of thousands of dollars at a time with no proof towards what the money was being used for.
Honestly, the Whittaker family is unfortunate, but they don't want to improve their lives they have been wasting money on drugs so much that I think donating to them at this point will only mean u are funding there drugs addiction...
It is clear that is a strong possibility. It is what people mean when they call Mark naive and an optimist. But how else is he supposed to help when he is so busy?
@ville__ you have 2 videos. one is a short of you stepping on a pride flag with macho man playing in the background. you have comments about being able to beat women up? you're not a jack of all trades, only thing you're jacking is your own peen.
@@dresdi I didn't read that. I see it now. I commented it within one hr of the video being released. I was watching the video and when he mentioned about the family I just commented what I felt.
Hey, Vancouver resident here. Everything you said that Tyler got wrong was actually correct. Most East Hastings shops do cater to drug addicts, as thats where you can find most of the homeless and drug addicts. BC is also a one-party consent province when it comes to recording conversations or individuals. Off topic but the conversation about the “nefarious group” was never given a name and it leads me to believe that they were publicly covering their own image from information Tyler had brought to light. This video more seems like a smear campaign to get clicks just from what I’ve noticed
I’ve lived in mulitple provinces now and EVERY SINGLE corner store in Canada sells items like those lmao especially since cannabis was legalize in like 2016?? This is not a BC thing. Also most of the us ones do too lol.
Tbh I feel like the idea of what Vancouver is trying to achieve is good, but it's not done well. The idea of legalizing the usage of all drugs (not legalizing the sale of all drugs, these are very different) was explored by a few European countries and it worked well. Legalizing drug usage is a way to make sure that someone whose life is already in shambles won't get worse by being arrested for drug usage and going to prison. But then you have to make anti-drug campaigns in partnership with charities, provide the addicted population different ways of slowing their drug usage, etc... It's kinda sad to see that something that was done with the intent of slowing down the drug usage has had such a negative effect. Also since you live in Vancouver, please tell me if I've got anything wrong here, about the city's drug usage and the efficiency of the drug prevention measures.
No, actually what he said is not correct. As someone with many friends who live there. They did not legalize all drugs So let me ask you was East Hastings super safe 2 years ago? No. So it wasn't just caused by decriminalizing drugs. So Tyler misrepresented everything on top of straight up lying. That's not a smear campaign, it's a fact
That is brain numbing. You cant do better if drugs are legal that just propagates the addiction. At least in prison you can detox. These politicians are trying to control you in front of your face and you just parrot their excuses @MasGaskTheFirst

Needing consent to film and overdose??? "I felt used"???? My brother you OD'ed in the city streets wtf where you expecting. Tyler was not wrong about Vancouver, I live in Canada so I know that it's going to shit he was not in the wrong here.
What’s going on in Canada isn’t exclusive to Canada. It’s even worse in America where there’s literally a war on drugs. You have it lucky compared to us. Most of Vancouver is safe according to a plethora of people saying that tyler severely misrepresented and overplayed how bad the crisis actually is there. EVERY CITY HAS DRUG USERS AND HOMELESS PEOPLE. Comes with the territory of cities having higher costs of living and drive people to homelessness and the use of drugs for escapism
@@Swolidarity So your saying if I go to any where in America I'll see the streets completely covered with homeless drug addicts. Also Tyler did NOT misrepresent these people. You can literally see the used syringes and drugs all over the ground. Violence isn't the only factor in determining what's safe or not. If anyone says its safe, try raise a child there I bet he'll get offered substances atleast once a day. That is NOT safe by any means.
Yes, he was. He had no right to film someone who overdosed that is the most disrespectful shit you can do. The person had no other choice but to overdose on the street because they were homeless show some respect for real.

That video of the "holy smokes" people is so BAD wtf the one dude can't keep his mouth shut for more than one second, they are both drinking in the video, the texts they showed, even proved what Tyler said in his video. I watched this knowing it would be a complete joke, and it was 😂😂😂
Which facts did he get wrong? Literally all of them are right. For example, show me anything, ANYTHING, that indicates anywhere Tyler covered made drugs "legal." Show me the parts where tyler didn't use somebody who was literally ODing for views, or when he cherry picked specific bad areas to make his narrative stronger, or when he called homeless people "mole people" and lied about the tunnels flooding. You can't, because you're just a tyler fanboy snowflake coming here to cry in the comments lmao
It seems highly unprofessional to just believe the Holy Smokes situation where they say "not putting out a hit" "not selling drugs". Cause if they did do those things would you expect them to just fess up on camera? I get that it's not guilty until proven so, but cause this can't be proven you shouldn't use it as a fact to hurt Tyler Oliveira for views.
Also, blaming Tyler for what happened to the Whitakers is stupid. I don't like Tyler Oliveira but you shouldn't use unproven stuff as evidence. (Also hello Wunba I'm subbed to you)
Are you seriously going to try and argue that a smallform charity operating in only one locale had both the resources and the desire to put a fucking hit out on someone? Much less a PUBLIC FIGURE whose death would immediately draw attention to any illicit activities they would have been involved in to have such things? Like, really dude? Can we get some common sense here, people? Holy Smokes has a website. They're partnered with other charities, one of which is extremely prominent and has existed since the 90s (Has a listing on Candid ,you can find out EVERYTHING about their operations dating back years by looking them up. They're called The Promise.). You can find out exactly what they're about with very little effort. They had nothing to gain from lying about anything and everything to lose, while Tyler had everything to gain and nothing to lose. Its ridiculous to try and defend him over that situation.
Becouse us poor folk like to so this extremely dumb thing which is looking at even poorer people and think "im sure theres nothing these people could do to improve themselves"
And im 100% at fault for bad things in my life but well forget that somehow its my fault that i suck but somehow i dont think immedeatly that they just happen to suck, no ones fault....
Because they are living in a miserable state and we shouldn't force heavily disabled people to live in that state, that's a sign of a strong society is providing for the broken.
It will definitely come he has made some mistakes in his past videos. And even in this one, the last part where he talks about the Whittaker family didn't prove anything. In fact, it proved he was right. The only irresponsible thing he did was not appropriately contact Mark before challenging where the funds went.
This video glossed over the fact that Tyler didn't know that Mike himself was being scammed by the family, so he backed out. Later, Tyler realizes that then he is in the same predicament as Mike. The family didn't want a new home and wanted to fund their kid's addiction. Even Pyro Live, a "slop" channel delivers updates and information up-to-date. Including this fact that you have ignored. Great journalism!
Yep its one of stupid people that villainize people bringing an issue to light, showing people an issue, or resolving an issue in a few weeks meanwhile a business that built itself around the issue can't solve it in 15 years. People seriously call Mr beast a racist for going to some place in Africa, building clean water wells and they sided with the company that had a problem with him doing that because he's solving the issue and fixing it, making them lose money and relevance.....While complaining about capitalism and companies not helping people...... "You shouldn't film people oding" WTF? So no one should be filming what's going on in Middle East too?
And glossing over the fact that Tyler pays people he interviews. "He profits off of people's sufferings!" yes to then pay other victims who are also suffering, to get their side of the story....To the ones saying "it's not that bad" to the others saying "it's horrible." But none of these channels that hate him ever brings this up too. Talking about how Tyler's interviews are cherry-picked and fake victims but every single person talking about Tyler have something negative to say but won't tell it to his face, but the people that do interview Tyler directly says the complete opposite. But you have to believe what they're saying because no one lies, they all tell the truth except for the person you don't like. I rather believe someone going to a place and telling me what's happening over somebody behind a screen telling me that "what I'm seeing in his videos are fake" when they never been there and bunking it themselves.
The hair splitting with "legal" vs "decriminalized" is petty too. They both mean you can possess drugs with impunity. And you canm as an individal, possess up the 2.5 grams of fentanyl. Only 2 milligrams can be lethal for those with no tolerance.
@@jbear0913 it was another shitty attempt for this youtuber to push a false narrative that tyler lies in his videos. He said "legal" which is exactly what decriminalized defacto means. And he left out the clips of Tyler saying it was decriminalized too. This youtuber is trying to cancel tyler based on false pretenses for being a "lying narrative pusher" while he in fact is being the lying narrative pusher LOL
in the video that tyler did about "police being banned" (literally police in the video), he shows a guy in a stolen(?) abandoned house and he literally plugs his patreon on top of the person living inside the house's "inappropiate nsfw images" and when the person is saying he's trying to stop using drugs and get a job, he shows the person's bottle of piss right after the person says don't film that please. He also coincidentally finds out that the house goes on fire weeks later and who's the person recording the fire? Tyler's friend in the video which means they were most likely hoping that the house would burn down watching it. Another thing, Tyler blurs a social worker's face because I'm assuming he thinks them as "human" and then shows all the homeless people trying to get jobs face's as they're "not human".
ikr.. I feel this whole thing just proved yet again what Mark have pointed out.. you cant save these people. Sure you can offer all of them a voice and a place to speak or what ever, but there is no point in giving them money because youll just find out why they are where they are in life.
It's because they are defending the people who were BORN from incest not the people who committed it. Just because some of the family was born from incest doesn't mean we should treat them as monster's just for that alone. Now if you want to criticize them for other stuff go ahead but don't criticize the people born from criticize the people who did the incest to begin with.

@illford6921 yes, that wasn't very smart of him on his part. The matter with this is that the donors donated specifically for a house and then Mark chose to use the funding for a house for other reasons. If the donors decide to litigate, they have a case and Mark could lose a lot from this.

Not only fair game, but it can be informative to others. There’s people who have improved how they drive after seeing photos of how others ended up after wrecking their cars. There’s people who have quit doing drugs after seeing someone else OD

I don’t understand how you would get consent from someone overdosing (I haven’t finished your video yet heads up). It just seems that if you’re on the street you don’t really have the same privacy that you would have in your own home.
Tbh if you're on the street anything that is within eyeview is considered in the public. Thus, you don't need permission to record and the only exemption from what I remember is military installations. They will tell you to leave and if you don't they will detain you
This is exactly what I think, yes it’s awful but guess what? They made these decisions, there is a million videos from Tyler himself that they say they don’t give a damn they just want drugs. When you’re in public, you are able to be recorded in America. Don’t get on a high horse and say “they’re having a difficult time” of course they are, they’re OD from drugs but that isn’t Tyler’s fault, everyone could see it in public and that person didn’t mind that as long as they got high.
0:42 that "possibly left a family without a home" part is clearly misguiding as Tyler's actions have absolutely nothing to do with the Whittakers' family spending all their GoFundMe money on anything but buying a house. Also 11:15 the situation *is* kind of chaotic and dangerous, right? You're not trying to make a point that it is not, you're trying to say that he should censor himself to make the situation look better? I thought that's against the standards? And aren't you trying to make your content inflammatory too? I mean, that's how RUclips works. It just seems quite hypocritical to accuse Tyler of not holding to journalism standards and making provocative statements while doing the same thing you're accusing him of.
Internet anarchist: "he needs to show factual statements" Also internet anarchist: "He shouldn't be showing what the city is actually like" Make your mind up mr anarchist.
I feel like Mark may have been skimming, otherwise why wouldn't it be important for him to update on the gofundme being sapped for their "emergencies" before making the sad righteous explanation video
The Vancouver video is pretty accurate, Vancouver hasn’t been the same since they did the decriminalization. Also yea it’s not legal, but the cops sure act like it is because they don’t want to get involved. Theres too many people on the streets doing these drugs for them to deal with so they just don’t even bother most of the time.
It captures the reality of it, yes (aside from some mistakes and misrepresentations that, although unfortunate, aren't that major). There's this weird idea promoted in Vancouver that the Downtown Eastside is this vibrant, independent community. What's more true is that it's a place that generates profits from suffering. A lot of drug money,, much it made by property crime, flows through that community.. And once that money's laundered politicians likely get some (and Vancouver real estate developers certainly have over time which likely contributed significantly to Vancouver becoming too expense for many to live in).
Any money going to help people like that needs to be managed by someone local and trustworthy (and someone that won't be easily tricked by the addict relatives).
I like Tyler’s content because he has the guts to show his audience what’s actually going on in the places or situations he is filming. So he’s not scared about getting demonetized and stuff he just wants to spread awareness about the his topics. So props to you for trying to bring Tyler down for just trying to point out a fact that everyone was thinking.
im sorry but tyler has not tarnished his reputation from the whittakers situation. yes he handled it poorly, but nearly every subscriber on his channel is in agreement that he made the mistake and learned from it. softwhiteunderbelly is a great guy, and everyone there is aware he didnt do any wrong now. maybe people who dont watch tyler feel this way but his core fans are all okay with him
Sorry to say this, but I feel all these claims a bit unfounded. Tyler obviously isnt a journalist, he is someone with the unique ability to talk with basically everyone and be chill to some degree. He isnt reporting facts only, but he mainly shows how things look in some places. Thats what makes him so good, he simply shows things and lets people mostly think for themselves. And saying that decriminilisation isnt diffrent from being legal... come on, the effect is the same to a large degree.
While similar the difference IS worth noting. Legalization would have seen shops open and selling the stuff. Probably would have been much, much worse. Or much, much better. Mostly because decriminalization is just ignoring the problem instead of trying to regulate and handle the issue of personal freedom vs impact on others.
i will say that the way he kind of lied, or at least misinterpreted holy smoke putting a hit on him was kind of his fault. reading the texts , they were just warning him about how those people will feel if he showed up without them, but the rest of the stuff isnt even his fault. for the decriminalization of drugs in vancouver, he was literally filming in a public setting, it doesnt matter if the person consents or not. and he was just trying to figure out what was going on and what the situation was like to inform people. as for the whitiker family, he was asking valid questions of what was going with all the money for the new home. but in reality the family was toxic and lying to mark and tyler. and putting all that blame on tyler is pretty unfair.
@@PascualMorales-py6gd the whole "mole people" vid was really shady tbh.. ignoring the whole holy smoke thing, tho i have very bad feeling about that company.. but the whole vid was messed up. even calling them "mole people" was very disrespectful, and the whole acting like he was gonna die in the tunnels... it was a very bad vid. plus, i HATE his thumbnails. very exploitative.
-"Filming people OD without their consent" What fucking consent? They can't consent in that state and they're in public. Like bro come on you're nitpicking. -I agree that his thumbnails are never positive, I find them funny and it attracts the eyes, it's just shock value for clicks. But when you actually watch the video you quickly forget about this image because you now have a better understanding of the situation. To put it simply, his thumbnails are a representation of our initial opinion or idea about the subject of the video. You can't seriously tell me that your first reaction when you saw someone going hard on fentanyl wasn't "Wtf is that a zombie?" -About the situation with the Whitakers... Tyler isn't perfect but why the f did the matriarch lie? It's really her fault this all started. Later on, it's revealed that they've been lying over and over. -And finally, I don't think he stigmatize people doing drugs/homeless. There are always people who want to improve and get out of that hell and people who probably can't be saved and will keep doing it but I don't think I've ever seen him judge people. He knows that people who do drugs have a tough background and you can't compare yourself to them
Why do yall like this clout goblin Tyler so much? Genuine question. All I see is a greedy disingenuous scumbag who pretends to care about people. The Hawaii video made that apparent to me - and now its obvious in every video sense then. He is a posturing goon.
I agree, this is true journalism. He films everything in public good AND bad. To not film the bad parts is to conceal the truth. It's not inflammatory, and you can't ask a crackhead for consent when filming, because I can assure you they won't even be able to tell you up from down.
I have epilepsy and when I have a seizure in public I truly believe people should not be allowed to film me when I’m having one and I can’t consent in the moment. Just because Mark is "respectable" and from a richer background and higher social class doesn't make him less exploitative than Tyler. He mismanaged that money then abruptly withdrew support from people who didn't even understand what was going on, just because his pride was hurt. He routinely exploits people's trauma for content before putting them back on the streets with drug money. He's judgemental, transphobic, misogynistic and was involved in the tragic death of one of his subjects, Amanda Rabb.
Tyler did an interview with atozy explaining more about why the capsule home people didn’t want to work with him and how the family never wanted a new home anyway. Apparently while hitting up mark, BJ called Tyler too while he was on vacation, like “hi, I hear you’re the new guy we ask for money.” Sounds like his interaction with BJ really opened his eyes to what mark has been dealing with and he sounded much more sincerely apologetic as well as frustrated and embarrassed.
i think mark and tyler are both in the right. tyler wanted to figure out where the money was going and didnt get an answer, so he turned it into sortof a hit-piece against mark to start a controversy in case he was mishandling the money. mark was also correct to not want to share all the details for protection of himself and the family. i think the issue here really isnt tyler or mark, but its the family themselves. they are clearly trying to exploit these wealthy content creators and will lie and scam just to get as much money as possible from them.
Within the first 7 minutes of this video, you only show Tyler’s text messages to those people. In the video, they have evidence of them talking shit about Tyler’s friend, explaining how they give weed to the homeless, they asked him for a huge amount of money from him for “protection” and then asked him to script his videos? Why did you only show the smallest part of his side? Not to mention, they then also texted someone super unprofessionally and unprovoked. I think that part of the video was very very poorly represented. You have to do better if you’re making videos of this stuff. Love your work, just not this part.
Yup. Agreed as that video layed everything out properly and yes, scripting journalism isn't journalism, it's acting and doesn't actually show the whole story because it's being sugarcoated which is not the impression that his videos give off.
You’re acting like Tyler is responsible for his friends acting out, no he’ll face the consequences of it online. I think you’re complaining about nothing but of course people have to find something to dislike when it isn’t up to their “tastes.” Be disappointed idk.
Thank you for watching and thanks for 760k Subscribers! ❤🎉

Yeah all the money would prolly go to crack and other drugs. Glad he sended the money there still was to charity tho.
Thank you! They were spending on drugs, I would hate to fund that too hopefully the family cleans up
they r clearly not capable of managing their own finances - they should have someone whos in their right mind doing it for them.

“Seems like a smear campaign”
Exactly right. That’s why it’s good for people lol this to expose frauds like Tyler
They did not legalize all drugs
So let me ask you was East Hastings super safe 2 years ago?

He wanted that SHOCK factor that he does in all his content. I have no problem with that. What i have a problem with is him with no evidence or claim expoiting people at thier expense. If you were and your familt were starving and a family member had saved money for you for a trust but said "now you can only use this for a house payment", what good is that money when your starving to death before a house is even a consideration. You cant help people your own stubborn way that is not help, and you cant continually hover over someone you do help financially and make sure they are making every correct choice.
The people who are wasting the money aren’t the ones who actually need it like Ray, Timmy and Lorraine.
Any money going to help people like that needs to be managed by someone local and trustworthy (and someone that won't be easily tricked by the addict relatives).
His reputation wasn’t destroyed. All he did is stopped supporting a family that was causing further harm for themselves

Drug use in vancouver was already ibcreasing before decrimilization, and it did not speed up the rate of it so it likely had little effect
@@PascualMorales-py6gdyeah, u right
@@PascualMorales-py6gd the whole "mole people" vid was really shady tbh.. ignoring the whole holy smoke thing, tho i have very bad feeling about that company.. but the whole vid was messed up. even calling them "mole people" was very disrespectful, and the whole acting like he was gonna die in the tunnels... it was a very bad vid. plus, i HATE his thumbnails. very exploitative.
You can't seriously tell me that your first reaction when you saw someone going hard on fentanyl wasn't "Wtf is that a zombie?"
-About the situation with the Whitakers...
You’re in the middle of a medical emergency smh. Would you film someone giving birth on the sidewalk??? Bleeding out?? Like the us has lost all sense of privacy and respect because of social media and “freedom”. Also this is Canada we have different laws smh.
@@soccerchick1 boo hoo, I would film for all of those occasions. It's public, I can film, and so can others
@@Justinbadger4 people like you are disgusting and have no thoughts for others well being. Only thoughts for yourself. The sense of community is truly gone in today’s world and everyone pulls out their phone versus’ thinking how they can help. Disgusting. Not everything needs to be posted online. Try going to your local library to find the “truth” smh.
I love Tyler. Yeah he pushes for a story even if one isn’t there but MOST OF THE TIME there is a story there and that’s when Tyler shines. He probably just needs to learn how to accept when his video ideas aren’t as juicy as he was hoping
The problem is that a lot of his videos are misinformation
If you aren't a literal child then shame on you tbh. Tyler misrepresents facts and exploits the vulnerable for profit and you LOVE him? Yikes ruclips.net/video/o6dAkkqE5XE/видео.htmlsi=TeBknxAIiNgpsujQ
@@wagkgs2287 I’m not gonna deny that, but I’m still a big fan of his. Mostly cause he goes to document homelessness and that’s incredibly brave imo. Also nice that he’s getting the word out and showing people how bad life can get if we aren’t on top of our game
@@FriendsWithMattHe’s not brave. He wants money and clout. Holy shit yall are so fucking naive. Boomer generation all over again.
His reputation if fine tho lmao
The title of the video is outrageously inaccurate
Just because Mark is "respectable" and from a richer background and higher social class doesn't make him less exploitative than Tyler. He mismanaged that money then abruptly withdrew support from people who didn't even understand what was going on, just because his pride was hurt. He routinely exploits people's trauma for content before putting them back on the streets with drug money. He's judgemental, transphobic, misogynistic and was involved in the tragic death of one of his subjects, Amanda Rabb.

hey, can we also get a "How Internet Anarchist Destroyed his reputation"
Bro calling the Stanley Hotel horror themed hurts my soul
My favorite part of this was the grown man throwing a temper tantrum cause another RUclipsr asked where the money was
gotta love how funny, tylers apology video was, runescape music, and filming on the toilet.
Sadly I feel it may be political for him.
We used to talk about someones momma or their wife. This generations fighting words..?

How to people keep getting surprised by this stuff. In an environment where more views = more money, creators are going to make things more dramatic.
