I was in college when this show was on, and we never missed an episode! It was part of our late night study breaks and we'd drink beer & do other things while watching haha. Haven't seen many of these in 25 years! What memories! And I don't think we really appreciated the real genius of some of these, we just thought they were fun!
The Joe Normal shorts were kinda made by the same people who made the Life with Loopy cartoons on KaBlam(a kid friendly version of Liquid TV)a show on Nickelodeon, the sister network of MTV
My mom would let my younger sister and I watch this when I was 11 years old! It fed my creative soul and boggled my mind. Nearly 40 years old now and I still found myself thrown for a loop a few times during this video. Thanks for the upload! Just imagine if these creative people had had RUclips back then. It would have been insane.
I love Brad Dharma: Psychedelic Detective, it should have been made into an ongoing series "And you're bean sprouts will live happily ever after." "Oh great, what are gonna do, beat us up or something?" "Yes. Comics code, I've got orders. I punched out there leader for no particular reason, before taking on the other two. Before I could pull myself together, there leader made a break for it. I decided to give him another shot at reincarnation... have a nice trip."
I am 47 years old and remember watching this as a freshman in high school in the early 90's. I remember there was a cartoon about a guy that had a lawnmower blade stuck in his head and he had this little alien looking sidekick. I can't find clips of that anywhere!
I loved this show when I was a kid. It was back when MTV was MTV, when they actually showed music videos. Those were the best days ever, but now there just great memories. Why don't they make good shows like this anymore?
MTV Networks,Inc was a publicly traded Television licensing and distribution brand from 1984 to 1999 who was financed by Viacom. From '84 to '94, they owned Nickelodeon.
Back during 1985-1992, MTV was a powerhouse thanks to its stunning success as MTV Networks,Inc owner of Music Television and Nickelodeon. The networks ran both with absolute excellence. Liquid Television was developed in early 1991 to showcase different animation and NY State young film students.
Does anyone remember a short series from MTV (1990/1991, I guess) about a weird family (not animation) watching TV in the living room? There is a bald guy as the father, a long red hair woman as the mother and others. I've been looking for this short for years....
Man… idk if it was because I was just THAT age or if it’s because those times and a lot of those people I experienced this stuff around are gone .. but watching this brings back memories of Saturday nights at my grandparents house I had my own room there and was ingesting all of the things that shaped me into who I became like tales from the crypt and headbangers ball , playing guitar and fantasizing about what it would be like when I was an adult … this brought back some killer memories 🤘😉
does anybody here know if they ever made more Bill and Willis shorts? the one they have on here is amazing, from the set designs to the puppets-really cool stuff all around, i love it.
I loved the joe normal skits and the live action skits where the people used overly dramatic acting and costumes with the plastic or rubber hair pieces. I don’t remember what they were called though.
Thank you for this. My cable company took out all MTV content, since they no longer carry their channels (thanks to you, too, Viacom). Because of that, I can no longer even access liquidtelevision.com, since I have my internet access through Suddenlink. I'd get another ISP, but the others all suck worse.
It’s amazing what you could get away with back in the 90’s. Watching the adult chaperone aggressively put his hand in and out of his pocket while the little kid is bent over in front of him at 16:23. Wild stuff.
4:53 "I know you're gonna dig this" this is a sample in Shape Da Future from JSRF! Was so excited to hear the origin of the sample out of nowhere! Haha
nexustehulf I immediately thought of that too. It's call Life With Loopy. I knew it felt familiar but this was a bit before my time...I definitely used to watch Kablam! though.
Man I'm in love with the maxx now and liquid tv this is just my kind of weird. My mom used to watch MTV back in the day and I watched mad tv and honestly I love every party if mtv.
I wish they would show a credit line to see who all was involved making all these. I'm willing to bet majority of them went on to create most of the cool stuff that comes on today. Like adult swim and some internet shorts on
My HS buddies and I used to get together on Thursday nights just to watch this show, eat bowls of moths, put duct tape on our leg hair, have slap box matches and smoke weed.
Does anyone know a cartoon called Maxwell's Demon, with a lake that caught fire, and a demon who says someone should try on a kumbaya hat? The animation looked like Duckman.
Awww, I was hoping to find this one cartoon that took place in a trailer park. these kids stole the bricks from a trailer to cook a chicken, and the trailer gets loose and at the end the guy inside the trailer wakes up next to a corpse of and his wife shoots him for cheating.
The 90s were a magical time for raw creativity and art that i just dont see anymore especially on tv now
so true
Off the air on adult swim is the only thing I could think of. I dont watch tv, but off the air is on youtube, and i cant get enough
Yeah, that's gone forever on TV now. You just see that kind of creativity on the internet. It's not gone it's just on youtube now
This comment aged like milk in 2018 you had FishCenter
And even more so now since AI AKA Empty Art took over. No soul .
I miss the 90's so much. Beautiful, screaming tangerine chaos. :(
same here I'm a 90'$ baby my dame self ya digg
i do too, it makes me wish i had a time machine!
Yes

Haven't seen many of these in 25 years! What memories! And I don't think we really appreciated the real genius of some of these, we just thought they were fun!
My college roommates and I did the same thing.
Miss the good ol' days of Liquid Television and music videos on MTV.
Late nights, LSD, and liquid television...ah, memories...
The Joe Normal shorts were kinda made by the same people who made the Life with Loopy cartoons on KaBlam(a kid friendly version of Liquid TV)a show on Nickelodeon, the sister network of MTV
McCraeTheMediaLover1999 I was wondering about this!
Stephen Holfman
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the similarities!
I could tell lol. That was the first thing I thought watching it
Yeah I could tell just from the thumbnail. It was so underrated. But I never knew about this one
Winter Steele was my shit. I remember watching this stuff when I was like 5-6. man, what screwed up kid I became to be. thanks for the memories.
Damn... bizarre back in the day, bizarre now. And still awesome
Oh early 90s how I miss you!
If I was a renown comic book and animation artist, I would undoubtedly recreate Brad Dharma: Psychedelic Detective.
I love Brad Dharma: Psychedelic Detective, it should have been made into an ongoing series

"Oh great, what are gonna do, beat us up or something?"
"Yes. Comics code, I've got orders. I punched out there leader for no particular reason, before taking on the other two. Before I could pull myself together, there leader made a break for it. I decided to give him another shot at reincarnation... have a nice trip."
Yeah, "Brad Dharma" was killer.
The many memories I have from the 90s...
This was back in the day when MTV was cool as ice, now its all about stupid realty shows. What the hell happen?
Blabbermouth Gamer Right!!! Some of these still come on late night on MTV2 I think. Mainly just Daria, Bevis and Butthead, Aeon Flux and The Maxx
Blabbermouth Gamer Right!!! Some of these still come on late night on MTV2 I think. Mainly just Daria, Bevis and Butthead, Aeon Flux and The Maxx
I think yes. All what you see back in the days as silly cartoons now showed as realtime silly real ppl
Funny part about this comment is MTV kinda started reality tv
Viacom happened they bought MTV. Honestly MTV hasn't been a music channel in years not since TRL went off the air.
I am 47 years old and remember watching this as a freshman in high school in the early 90's. I remember there was a cartoon about a guy that had a lawnmower blade stuck in his head and he had this little alien looking sidekick. I can't find clips of that anywhere!
oh the head! I love that cartoon :P
To Everyone watching this...You are my people.
They just don't make TV like they used to. Awesome upload!
There's some fantastic selections in this video.
April 2019 I miss these days when adult cartoons being 9 had to sneak into the living room to watch Liquid TV
Before there was RUclips... there was LIQUID TELEVISION.
Thank you so much for this gift of nostalgia.
wish there was more Winter Steele on that tape.. thanks
Jessica Anderson - I loved Winter Steele too. All the episodes used to be on RUclips but MTV took them all down a few years ago :-(
I loved this show when I was a kid. It was back when MTV was MTV, when they actually showed music videos.
Those were the best days ever, but now there just great memories.
Why don't they make good shows like this anymore?
Wonder Showzen from 2005 was awesome, MTV made that.
MTV Networks,Inc was a publicly traded Television licensing and distribution brand from 1984 to 1999 who was financed by Viacom. From '84 to '94, they owned Nickelodeon.
this is what ive been missing
this is like an early version of adult swim's 'off the air'
Goofy Goober Off The Air is adult swim's attempt to capture the same magic as Liquid TV.. not as good though lol
Goofy Goober
This was actually an in depth spinoff of local access television
off the air is not worse in any way, just a different vibe. it's amazing if anything.
I loved watching Liquid Television when I was a kid, it was fun and very realistic ^^
"My mom has a caffeine addition and sinus problems" BRO. LOL that could easily go over people's heads
Winter Steele was definitely one of the best bits... its sooo good.
19:21 - The birth of the greatest sound effect ever made.
I remember these from back in the day.
nice. grinning evil death. haven't seen that in ages.
Does anyone remember a short series from MTV (1990/1991, I guess) about a weird family (not animation) watching TV in the living room? There is a bald guy as the father, a long red hair woman as the mother and others. I've been looking for this short for years....
Roger Lombardi oblongs
This was like a PG-13 of Spike & Mike's Twisted Animation. I miss the 90's MTV era!!
Thank you so much for sharing this. It's made my year.
Man i wish i knew of this in my heavy acid eating days.

Thank you for this. My cable company took out all MTV content, since they no longer carry their channels (thanks to you, too, Viacom). Because of that, I can no longer even access liquidtelevision.com, since I have my internet access through Suddenlink. I'd get another ISP, but the others all suck worse.
I wish MTV brought this back along with Beavis and Butthead, Jackass, and Headbanger’s Ball
It’s amazing what you could get away with back in the 90’s. Watching the adult chaperone aggressively put his hand in and out of his pocket while the little kid is bent over in front of him at 16:23. Wild stuff.

I feel I finally found something I lost long ago without remembering it.
4:53 "I know you're gonna dig this" this is a sample in Shape Da Future from JSRF! Was so excited to hear the origin of the sample out of nowhere! Haha
Oh don't mind me, just a Grump fan passing by
Just a Grump theme passing by boy, and oh my, this is just, well....
Dharma should have been a full series. That segment had a great look and atmosphere.
So like, I'm pretty sure that this is where the one short in KaBlam! came from. I forget the name of the short, but it had the same exact style.
nexustehulf I immediately thought of that too. It's call Life With Loopy. I knew it felt familiar but this was a bit before my time...I definitely used to watch Kablam! though.
+storm sullivan

19:22 And so one of the greatest Ed Edd 'n' Eddy sound effects was born.
Anyone have ALL the episodes? Put them up please.

Awww, I was hoping to find this one cartoon that took place in a trailer park. these kids stole the bricks from a trailer to cook a chicken, and the trailer gets loose and at the end the guy inside the trailer wakes up next to a corpse of and his wife shoots him for cheating.
That's called "The Dangwood's; Nightmare in Trailer City."
Is there a link to the Dangwoods?
That's Part One of The Best of Liquid Television I just upload recently
The OG
I wish I was alive during the 90/
