After going on a 90’s binge and hearing dance the night away again after many years, I looked up The Mavericks and stumbled upon En Espanol. What a incredible album! Completely nailed the Spanish/South America sound. Always had a soft spot for this sort of music. No idea what they are saying and but it that way. So uplifting and beautiful music, keep it up chaps 👍
These guys can pick up their instruments and play anything they want. But they choose to always come back to the kind of music that has shaped their success. Go Mavericks!
There's a lot of covers of this Juan Gabriel song and I think (and it's just my opinion) that the Maverick's just made a great one, and, gotta say, the accordion, trumpets, sax, bass, chorus claps and, of course, the snare drum makinkg that kindda mariachi guitar sound fits very well.
