Bass-tastic awesomeness. Would love to hear a collaboration with you and Eric Hollaway @thatbassvoice as you both have incredible ranges with amazing full sound at both ends. It would be fantastic. Regardless, thank you for this unexpected musical treat. Stay safe and stay awesome. 🙃✌️
@@itselliottmichaelYay! Looking forward to it whenever it happens. Until then, I'll just keep enjoying both of your stupendously super singing.🤜🤛👍👍 🙃✌️
I love that you gave us the isolated bass track! Thank you for this! I'm a low alto/contralto and when I'm singing in female only pieces they're basically wanting me to bass line it for them, but of course no one teaches female singers how to work a good bass line. I have to pick it out of songs I hear and try to learn how (two or three octaves above you bassy guys, of course. LOL). Thanks for this. It's great practice. Also... OMG that breathy growl release of yours is to DIE for. ❤️
thank you! dynamically (and appropriately, in terms of style) performing a bass line is such an under-appreciated skill. but an awesome one! separates great from good, IMO. a handful of vocal basses do it really well, but i’ve learned just as much-if not more-from mimicking actual bass players. i appreciate it. always love the comments from actual singers/ensemble performers who really get it! 😊
@@itselliottmichael Thanks so much for the tip! I never thought to try that, and now that you've mentioned it, it seems so obvious! LOL 🤦🏾♀️ I can be so dense sometimes. 😆 I'll definitely give that a try. Thanks! I agree totally about having a good bass line. It's a needed skill, and not everyone does it well. The bass line fills out the music and sets up the foundation for all the flashy higher voices to shine. If it's not done well, it can really affect the entire piece. I might be weird, I suppose (I actually enjoy singing harmony, for example, where most singers I know want melody), but I love a good bass line, and in the group I sing with, I feel like that's definitely a skill I need to develop for the female-only pieces we sing at least. I'm the lowest voice we have among the females. D3 to F5 with my sweet spot being E3 to G4. 5th octave is always hard for me to get without sounding like I'm squeaking. There's male tenors I sing with who have lighter and brighter timbres than I do. Thanks again for the response (and the tip). Hope you had a good holiday season. Looking forward to the next thing you put out. :)
This sounds sooo cool! Can't wait for my voice to be fully recovered and get back into singing bass, gotta give this a try then :D Great work and happy new year, Elliott!
Hello Elliot, i wanted to ask you about the volume of your lower notes, is there any trick to get lower Chest louder? I love singing at the campfire while my family is listening and the high notes work just fine but when i get to my bottom it gets to quiet and when i get louder it turns into fry. Also i love what you are doing and relasing this bass track is a fortune as well as your other projects, for me you are one of the best basses!
man, i’m entirely the wrong person to ask lol-only because my voice naturally sits low and is richest and most relaxed down low. it’s easy to modify timbre, volume, etc. since it’s comfortable. honestly, my advice would be to focus mostly on singing where you’re comfortable, not push it (minimize tension), and to find a good vocal coach. even if only for a while, a good coach will help you master fundamentals and control your instrument (game changer for me in college). that way, you’ll dictate what your voice does rather than the other way around. i really appreciate the support! glad you enjoy it. there will more up here real soon 🙏🏾
some of those F1s are slick brother. idk how often u get this question but what would u say is like the lowest usable note u usually have? like if someone asked u to sing ur lowest note on a random afternoon how far down there do u think u'd be able to get? sorry if thats annoying to ask lol
I'm not gonna lie, I'm an 18 year old bass with an F1 as my lowest chest note, but I don't have the control you do, just wow, also is F1 good for my age?
@@YtprophetWZ Remember that reach by itself doesn't make it good. Hence why he said it was hard to tell without hearing it. 2:34 - 2:39 F1 - D5. BOI that range
💅🏾💅🏾 yk how i do lol
I love acapella singing and how groups can sound together. But I always wanted to hear the bass track isolated. Thank you for this one.
i always used to nerd out over the nuances in each individual vocal line (especially in vocal jazz and r&b)-love stuff like this. glad you enjoyed it!
Listening to this on full volume with my headphones on and my skull is being pleasantly shaken to pieces lmao
