Finally we return to something I know so well (at least until Disney changed the canon). I love comics a lot, but Star Wars will always be my first nerd passion. May the force be with you ComicPOP
Grievousish I know how you feel, I've felt the same way about Batman & Wolverine since I first read their books back in the 90's as a kid. Now I love comics of all kinds, not only DC & Marvel, but my favorite continue to be Bats & Wolvy.
Don't sell yourself short by letting a corporation make you question how well you know Star Wars. Canon is stupid. The idea that some fictional stories really happened while other fictional stories didn't really happen is not one we have to accept.
1:06 along with Tiffany I’m like “John Cassaday?!” He’s great Ive loved his work from Planetary to his Captain America work and his Astonishing X-men run needless to say I love his work
It would be really cool to get more Star Wars books to break up from the big 2 universes, maybe not like the same thing as every 10 is a Crisis; maybe like 2-3 a year.
I really hope to see more of these Star Wars comics on Back Issues, they're such fun books and it's nice to see you do something you enjoy once in a while.
I always like to listen out for a generation X Star Wars fans Love of the original Star Wars but in a modern since of the new Canon and what they're working with because my first interaction with Star Wars was the prequel's due to my age, followed by the Marvel comics and the video games( Old republic Force unleashed) I didn't see the original trilogy into I was like 14.
Another amazing entry into the ComicPOP Back Issues library. Thanks for doing vol. 1 of he Star Wars comic. Can't wait to see more about the Star Wars books from you guys in the Futcha!
16:54 Hey, don't stunt on Luke for thinking he could take down the most powerful known villain in the galaxy with no force training whatsoever after touching a light saber like once ... after all it worked out for Rei.
Hey sal, I'm not sure if someone's said this, but splinter of the minds eye was not a comic book in the EU, it was the first sequel to A New Hope. It was supposed to be a low budget, easy to make sequel because George Lucas didn't think A New Hope would be successful. However, because it was successful mind's eye was thrown out and replaced with Empire Strikes Back
Awesome episode ! I never read the dark horse star wars line but I'm loving this one, it calls back to the original movies but also does cool new things. I especially love the scar squadron
Reality show pitch: "Sir, do you know why you're here today?" "Um, I'm... here for the job interview?" "No, sucker! You're on an episode of Back Issues!"
But Sal, in the cartoon from the Star Wars holiday special, they show the first meeting of Boba fett and the rebels. 🎼One of these things just doesn't belong here🎤
Was a huge fan of the Dark Horse comics think I've read every single one to be honest. Knights of the Old Republic and Dark Times were by far my favorite lines and would recommend them to any comic and/or Star Wars fan. Amazing job as always Comic Pop! Leia get over it, jeeze you were adopted anyways.
Sneaky Sal!!! you said you were doing a Batman book, lmao! I honestly only have the Star Wars books with Leinil F. Yu's art. Never liked the comics that much 😹 If they ever published Star Trek comics with awesome art by Jason Fabok, Andrea Sorrentino, Francis Manapul, Greg Capullo, Esad Ribic or Jim Lee... I'd definitely buy those suckers too!
You Know in the movies they now have a Young Han Solo, Lando, and a possible Leia(Emilia Clarke), Now all they need is a young Luke Skywalker and they can do a bunch of movies in between episode 6 and 7
So when would Obiwan have planned on giving Luke that box? If its so important I would assume he would have included it in the stuff he brought with him in Ep 4.
Ian McKee yeah...kinda weird. I guess that's why it's a journal and not like a letter. maybe he didn't specifically plan to give it to Luke, but he also avoided writing about how Vader was Anakin in case Luke like, snuck into his hut and read it?
Ethan Marsh But the box said for Luke, didn't it? I would have packed the box with like a note explaining if he ever sees a red Zabrak to run away because that guy just wont die. Also maybe like a recording of how to mediate or repair a lightsaber that may or may not actually work anymore. Ohh and not to trust emo weirdos who always dress in black and always complain about not getting all the attention. You know, helpful life lessons that Obiwan didnt get from his master.
gvkdfdf Yeah!!! He was given to me by a toy merchant who couldn't sell him because there is a piece missing from his tail. I was more than happy to give him a new home!
That extended riff at the end was pretty impressive. Also, does Ben really not know/like Star Wars or did the bit demand that he didn't? And if he really doesn't know/like Star Wars... why/how are you guys friends?!?
Awesome video, one of my favorites in a long time. I know you mostly do Marvel/DC, which I totally dig, but I'd love for you to do more Star Wars (which I guess IS Marvel now). Either more issues of this series, maybe Gillen's Darth Vader, but my #1 pick would be the Vader Down crossover, because then you could talk about SW and Darth Vader a bit, insomuch as they give context to the crossover. Or do Dark Empire, because it's stupid and ridiculous, and I'd love to hear what y'all have to say about it.
Actuaaaaaaally... After the Emperor took over the Republic, he destroyed Kamino. So the stormtroopers that are in the original trilogy are actually random guys who got forcefully conscripted. So Vader killed just that random guy, who might have actually believed in the Empire... ...just saying... :D
Hey guys, i sent you a package that should have arrived at the PO box yesterday. Did it arrive? I ask because my tracking info didnt seem to work so I'm kind of paranoid about it.
ComicPOP Never-mind, I got on. Mine should be the one with nook written on it and that's beat to hell and falling apart. The box was in great condition when I shipped it, so that's a bit worrying. Anyway hope you like some of the contents.
im looking at the background and I realise that the line up for the guardians of the galaxy movie is basically the line up for star wars han and chewie are rocket and groot, c3po doesn't understand sarcasm like drax, luke and star lord both don't know what they are doing half the time but keep getting lucky and leia and gammora keep getting saving or getting saved by the others (I'm just not sure when the star lord version of the guardians actually appeared in the comics if anyone can answer)
-3 is cold!? you guys are adorable. I just had a few days of -40, in case your wondering if that's Fahrenheit or Celsius, they actually coincide at -40. It's as if the 2 systems got together and agreed "This is fucking cold!" Anyway, great episode, I've been trying to decide weather or not to read the Star Wars books out there and this will help me decide which ones to get (the ones that are actual cannon)
I've just read it and I feel like it doesn't really work for me, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. The premise to me feels flawed and the character's feel off.
Pick up the volume here: amzn.to/2hozDlk
Wow, Ben pulled a substitution jutsu.
Always enjoy the Star Wars episodes.
All two of them.
"I am a Jedi because Obi-Wan taught me how to close my eyes"lmao
Would love to see this become an animated film on Disney+ just to hear Han say ”Nice knowing ya Darth”
So its established that the only way to beat Boba Fett is to be blind? because so far its Blind Guys 2, Boba 0 on the scoreboard
Austin Cole to beat a god, you must win by fate
Ben may not be able to use the magical teleportation Poof-Poofs, but dammit if he doesn't have heart.
Screw Disney. Jaina Solo and Mara Jade will always be cannon to me. :)
Sal's Yoda had me gasping for air. Funny stuff.
Sal impression's are always funny 😂
Watching Back Issues this morning and then suddenly remembering, "Oh, yeah, I need to go to work!" I look forward to it every Thursday.
I really hope to see more of these Star Wars comics on Back Issues, they're such fun books and it's nice to see you do something you enjoy once in a while.
There was so much geek talk in this episode. I freaking loved it
Sal's Tauntaun impression killed me XD
I honestly got destroyed by the Truce at Bakura reference. Good one, Sal.
You really had me going with that Periscope of you editing a Black Mirror back issues. Sneaky sneaky.
Also, got a Rogue One adat the start. Synergy!
**randomly spots an animal man omnibus in the background** lol
anyway, great ep of back issues!
5 more episodes for another Ultimate spiderman. I like these Star wars back issues
Omar Rivas Bustinza that's what we're really waiting for
FUCK YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!
Omar Rivas Bustinza More like 5 episodes until Futures End and then Ultimate Spider-Man
ComiXProvider FTW_02 *futcha
ComiXProvider FTW_02 yay finally the Fucha is happening
I always like to listen out for a generation X Star Wars fans Love of the original Star Wars but in a modern since of the new Canon and what they're working with because my first interaction with Star Wars was the prequel's due to my age, followed by the Marvel comics and the video games( Old republic Force unleashed) I didn't see the original trilogy into I was like 14.
I love Force unleashed. Still one of my favorite games of all time
Ethan's sidious is amazing XD loved this whole episode and am a huge Star Wars fan. Keep it up guys! SW episodes every once and a while are awesome
“I can hear, also, your friend Jason saying that.” Jason just appeared in an episode (coincidentally another star wars one) yesterday.
Another amazing entry into the ComicPOP Back Issues library. Thanks for doing vol. 1 of he Star Wars comic. Can't wait to see more about the Star Wars books from you guys in the Futcha!
I love this series. it has a special place in my heart because it introduced me to your channel and started me as a month to month reader
Welcome back Frank. You know what I mean.
Holy shit. This actually sounds like a good comic.
"Even Salacious Crumb has flown the coop."
Really enjoyed this week's episode.
16:54 Hey, don't stunt on Luke for thinking he could take down the most powerful known villain in the galaxy with no force training whatsoever after touching a light saber like once
... after all it worked out for Rei.

It was supposed to be a low budget, easy to make sequel because George Lucas didn't think A New Hope would be successful. However, because it was successful mind's eye was thrown out and replaced with Empire Strikes Back
Dark Horse did a comic adaptation, which is probably what we were referring to. Splinter was probably the first EU novel I read.
You should have added that Star Trek transporter when Tiff came in, and really freaked the nerds out. (of which I am one)
Awesome episode ! I never read the dark horse star wars line but I'm loving this one, it calls back to the original movies but also does cool new things. I especially love the scar squadron
Whoa, this series sounds amazing! I always meant to start reading it, I definitely will now!
I'm using this in order to get hyped for the movie later tonight
that was fantastic. DANG IT! now I got read these star wars comics. I can't keep spending all of me money!
I've said it before, but the andy kubert batman statue is so damn nice!!!
Thank you! Seriously, I hate DK3 but that statue was too gorgeous.
I dont know that zodberg statue is a very close second
This was fantastic and thanks for the laughs!
Reality show pitch:
"Sir, do you know why you're here today?"

Best intro of Back Issues ever! Ben really nailed it! and I cant wait for next weeks Back Issues!
I love the Star Wars stuff on Back Issues.
Tiffany's hat is so on point
I love this show. Thank you for making Thursday suck less!
Hope you guys do the Knights of the Old Republic comic someday.
35:05 the funny part is. This is 100% canon.
Jason Aaron did Boba Fett complete justice
This was a great episode, now you need to do Vader Down. Darth Vader is a complete badass in that.
This episode is great, the book is great too. 10/10
Sneaky Sal!!! you said you were doing a Batman book, lmao! I honestly only have the Star Wars books with Leinil F. Yu's art. Never liked the comics that much 😹
If they ever published Star Trek comics with awesome art by Jason Fabok, Andrea Sorrentino, Francis Manapul, Greg Capullo, Esad Ribic or Jim Lee... I'd definitely buy those suckers too!
Tiffany just happened to be wearing a Star Wars shirt and hat. What a coincidence!!
There was a little snafu there with changing out Ben with Tiff. It said Tiff under Ben when it showed the names of the cast.
I really liked The Courtship of Princess Leia book. Force witches!
I really enjoyed this episode of back issues, very fun to watch :)
This was just what I needed after finals week. Thanks guys, this was super fun to listen to!
Ah, back when Comicpop was full of vim and vigor supporting Jason Aaron with nary an Avenger team book in sight.
Great as always guys
Sal has cat ears lol
I see Attack on Titan on the shelf by Tiffany.
Attack on Titan on Back Issues?
Geek Mangacomic You don't even know how much I want to do that!
TheRealZubes
Tiff, as a wise man once told me...
JUST DO IT
_Sind Sie das Essen? Nein, wir sind die Jäger!_
You Know in the movies they now have a Young Han Solo, Lando, and a possible Leia(Emilia Clarke), Now all they need is a young Luke Skywalker and they can do a bunch of movies in between episode 6 and 7
i miss the dark horse star wars comics so much

Never Notice the Godzilla Figure in the background. I like it
gvkdfdf Yeah!!! He was given to me by a toy merchant who couldn't sell him because there is a piece missing from his tail. I was more than happy to give him a new home!
TheRealZubes That is pretty sweet.
I LOVE STAR WARS AND I LOVE YOU GUYS.
Great episode!! I hope you do the Darth Vader comics
Love it. And your cute role play at the end. :)
The HR department is no more!
Can you do legends Star Wars before episode 1 in back issues? Tales of the jedi? Jedi vs. Sith? Knights of the old republic?
dude i was about to start reading this WoW
Gotta do Darth Vader next, easily the best comic Marvel put out this year.
this is the trade i sent sal and his buddies alongside my other goods at sent for their package. hope to see mine open on letters page!
This was amazing!!
That extended riff at the end was pretty impressive.
Also, does Ben really not know/like Star Wars or did the bit demand that he didn't? And if he really doesn't know/like Star Wars... why/how are you guys friends?!?
Ben is somewhat indifferent toward Star Wars, at least in comparison to Sal, Tiff and I
rorschach221 the struggle is real...😉
please more starwars stuff, nice to see Ethan have real some knowledge of the story
Awesome video, one of my favorites in a long time. I know you mostly do Marvel/DC, which I totally dig, but I'd love for you to do more Star Wars (which I guess IS Marvel now). You should totally do Vader.
I'd love more Star Wars Episodes! breaks up the typical marvel/dc main character episodes.
This is gold
Great episode!! I wanna read this now lol
Hey guys, i sent you a package that should have arrived at the PO box yesterday. Did it arrive? I ask because my tracking info didnt seem to work so I'm kind of paranoid about it.
+Ian McKee Didn't go today, but I'll reply tomorrow
ComicPOP
Okay thanks.
Check our Instagram, it should be in the stack of boxes we picked up today.
ComicPOP
I don't have one of those. I used an old Barnes and Noble box so the logo should be on the side.
ComicPOP
Never-mind, I got on. Mine should be the one with nook written on it and that's beat to hell and falling apart. The box was in great condition when I shipped it, so that's a bit worrying. Anyway hope you like some of the contents.
So Han Solo and Sana Starros is like Kermit and Miss Piggy.
Turns out R2 actually has the A.I. of an assassin droid.
Also, Tiff was reading A.D.!!! cool, maybe a Tiff Picks about it?
Live To Rock sounds like a good idea to me!
That's an epic hoodie Ethan!
I prefer the term "wizard" to describe it.
...What?
*_"I'M BRINGING IT BACK!"_*
0:12 Ben hacked Tiffany's account
im looking at the background and I realise that the line up for the guardians of the galaxy movie is basically the line up for star wars han and chewie are rocket and groot, c3po doesn't understand sarcasm like drax, luke and star lord both don't know what they are doing half the time but keep getting lucky and leia and gammora keep getting saving or getting saved by the others (I'm just not sure when the star lord version of the guardians actually appeared in the comics if anyone can answer)
not to mention both luke and star lords fathers are both dicks with the command over armies.
How did you like A.D. Tiff? I rather enjoyed it, and I'm trusting Snyder to make more sense of the latter parts of issue 1 of 3....
Wait! No! Ben, don't leave!
Oh, Tiffany?
Bye Ben.
;)
sweet vid. would love some legends stuff
I died laughing at 39:50
In retrospect, hearing about the Emperor’s clones at the very beginning feels ironic. Like a tease to how the Sequel Trilogy would end up
I'm more interested in this than Episode IV. The movies never got me, but this was very interesting.
Star Wars request - _Darth Vader & the Ghost Prison_
The story cabal was around back when Lucas had control, the keeper of the holocron is on twitter if you have any questions about Canon.
No thanks.
ComicPOP ok
Wasn't Splinter of the mind's eye the scraped episode 5?
Really like the star wars series of books. but the Darth Vader series and Obi Wan/Anakin mini series were my favorites so far
-3 is cold!? you guys are adorable. I just had a few days of -40, in case your wondering if that's Fahrenheit or Celsius, they actually coincide at -40. It's as if the 2 systems got together and agreed "This is fucking cold!"
Anyway, great episode, I've been trying to decide weather or not to read the Star Wars books out there and this will help me decide which ones to get (the ones that are actual cannon)
Can you do Dark Empire on a future installment?
That would rock
I've just read it and I feel like it doesn't really work for me, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. The premise to me feels flawed and the character's feel off.
Levi Wyatt Oh I know haha
Not a fan of Star Wars, but I'll watch anything you put out.
