- It's here, the 100k subscriber special! We're gonna start with a bigger and badder challenge that we've seen yet and throwing it back to our roots, we'll start out where it all began. 100 bins, followed by 100 dumpsters! How much scrap metal can we find? Will we strike it rich in treasure, or strike out and just waste a lot of gas? One way to find out! Dumpster diving extravaganza, let's gooo!

I remember just typing in random letters on the RUclips search bubble and that's how I discovered this channel, at that time I was really into finding things in alleys so your channel was on the same vibe and I've been a fan since then. Wow it was just you combing the small bins and your Pontiac tracking through the snow. For a while I thought that you had snow year round lol it was rare to see a snowless video. Tip on u-joints, use the vise to press/squeeze the caps in. Should be videos demonstrating it. Also whack on the fork ends by the shaft, to free it up after.
Oh that actually would’ve been a lot smoother, good call. Hopefully won’t have to do it for awhile though! I did watch a chrisfix video first and I did the taptaptap to get them moving smooth, cut the footage down to as short as I could though

Unfortunately Here in SC they will arrest you for going through people's trash and dumpsters. I learned the hard way by dumpster diving. My buddy was arrested for getting beer cans outta someone's garbage .Plus they passed a law where everyone has to get a permit every 2 yrs from sheriff's office to sell all non ferrous metals. They made it hard to scrap here in SC. How you look in folks garbage cans for scrap will get you locked up here. 😢
Your switch board device is for power metering, the parts should mostly be brass and copper, looks more like tin coated copper or brass, even short strippable copper wires are included.
@ 53:30... looks like an air arc gouging rod for removing metal. We often use them for stripping weld or removing base metal
That Aerospoke wheel at around 3:15 is worth a bit. Shouldve kept that.
They sell for about £75, used.

Hey thub. I’m up in oil country and love ❤️ your content. I’m also a scrapper. I just wanted to mention that you can be arrested in Alberta for touching a locked dumpster. If I see a locked dumpster I do not go through it. Some day we will have to do a BoA dumpster diving thingy. I haven’t got scrapping videos on my channel yet but would love to collaborate sometime.

Nice haul of CD's keep an eye out for more black metal ones in there like the Burzum cd as they tend to hold their value, same with alot of the metal ones to be fair.

I've been driving garbage truck here in western Pennsylvania for just a little over 20 years. The company I work for calls the police and presses theft charges if they catch you going through a recycle tote like that removing aluminum cans.
That’s kinda wild. They don’t ticket bottle pickers around here because most people would rather have bottle pickers than carjackers

Yes, yes, I liked it very much! A byproduct is showing how many dumpsters it takes to get a good haul of treasure. Some people think it's much easier [than it looks]. That CD collection looks very similar to mine, scanned it in slow-mo and found 2 I'm interested in. Congratulations on the 100k!🏆

That rod you found is a copper coated carbon arc gouging rod. Its a anti welding rod in a way

That rod looking thing that you pulled out of the dumpster that was a graphite rod that has a Copper coating they’re used for like cutting. It’s not actually metal though.

I really enjoyed that Thub, I think we'd need to find out the schedule of the bin lorries for the best juice and go the day/night before or even early doors on the day, you know to catch the stuff they don't want folk to see they've thrown away/owned LOL.

Thanks so much! 😄 the unexpected quick repair was annoying but at least it made the day more interesting! I think I was getting worried at the end and trying to make things as short as possible haha. A 2hr episode might be a bit much for most folks but I very much appreciate the positive affirmation!

Bin 92 is a copper coated air gouging rod
That forklift repair place past the lumber yard north of 42nd is NiftyLifts, a little mom 'n pop shop. They're great people. They let me tear into one of their forklift carcasses to get a motor for my electric motorbike conversion, and later a monstrous motor I'm putting into an electric classic car conversion. They have a giant dumpster full of metal (like, entire 4000lb forklift frames) that's regularly pilfered through, but they give it to the guy who does their forklift transporting for them. You probably noticed there being dozens of rabbits around in that area, his wife brings leftovers to feed them. ... I'm among those that called you out for being a sh!tty person taking from the Diabetes bins, so, good on you to give something back.

25-35 cents back in Denmark. But they’re way more numerous here. I work construction, and we started a biiiig project 2 months back, and I have religiously collected every resycleable container I have come across. Probably at 2500 or something so far :p
Also collecting wire now. Dunno which other metals to focus on, mate.?

Thub, ur one of the few scrappers I watch that clip of both ends of the cords. Everyone else leaves the plug end on. Do u think it really makes a difference in payout?
It does to me, my scrapyard will downgrade the bin if I leave the ends on. I can go ahead and leave them on if it suits me to do so, but the $/lb is going to drop
