[Guitar Speed Lesson] 5 Picking Hand Speed Exercises
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 июл 2021
- In this video, you’ll learn 5 picking hand exercises to increase your speed on the guitar. I’ll show you specific speed licks and exercises that will help you breakthrough the speed barrier you may currently be stuck on.
Here’s what we’ll cover in this video […]
First, I’ll show you a fast guitar picking trick that works with descending scales. Since most people can play scales faster than descending, this trick will help you immediately increase your picking hand speed.
Second, I’ll show you a 2-octave arpeggio picking pattern that will help you play arpeggios faster.
In the next picking sped exercise, I’ll teach you the 2+1+1+2 octave arpeggio picking pattern that will light your picking hand on fire as you rip through arpeggios faster.
Fourth, you learn how to string skip faster with arpeggios so that your picking hand is able to play much faster when string skipping.
And finally, the 5th picking speed exercise will help you to integrate fast speed picking patterns that integrate with other fast picking runs.
Let’s get started with today’s picking hand speed lesson.

Very helpful! Thank you!
Cool lesson. Being able to play fast is always a great asset to have :)
First!! love all your video's! have been using most of them (based on my ability). this one is a great one as well!
Directional picking has changed everything for me! Where was this 25 years ago??
Hi Tom, do you have any more picking exercises like examples 1 and 5? I’m not really interested in sweep picking licks.
What is your approach to Paul Gilbert type licks with 16th note triplets that consist of 6 notes per string, and how do you get them up to speed? You don't seem to use a pick slant, so I'm curious as to how you get the pick out of the "trench" quickly since each string ends on an upstroke for those types of runs?
Cool licks - these are fun to play! Thanks.
I think this lesson is for people like Malmsteen, Petrucсi, Vai etc, not for us))))
