With the current war in full effect the build has been tweeked slightly, now has 1 x 3c AX Multi cannon, 1x 3c Missile rack, 1 x 3c Multi cannon and 2 x 2e AX Multi cannons. Also small cargo rack for repair limpets so the ship has both decon and repair available without leaving the fight. However this is still a scout killer or to aid others with the bigger Thargoids. A new grind is coming for better AX weapons, just don't know when.
1:38 chieftain is also a very good choice, much cheaper as well. and you can get a good discount on ships and modules at stations controlled by li yong-rui if you don't have access to shinrarta
Long time but casual player - thought I'd take my PvE Vulture bounty hunter to one of the new AX CGs. Never engaged any Thargoids before. *Big mistake* I knew enough to stay away from the large ships, but was not the right build at all! Beam lasers didn't seem to touch the scouts and had to resort to silent running to raise the temp enough to burn off the caustic goo. Since my ship is a bit of shield tank, I had to wait quite some time for that to regenerate, too. Only just managed to limp back to the station with nothing to show for it. Thanks for these suggestions - will look forward to building and testing a more suitable AX ship!
@@PJsprojects Spent a bit of time building a Krait Mk2 to a similar build and managed to take down a couple of scouts Woo hoo! I've got no hope of attacking anything larger, so will leave the Chieftain for now. It's a shame that the corrosive damage is a thing. I found that the point defence didn't seem to help much and I also tried an ECM module - but I can't say it did anything either (maybe I'm using it incorrectly). The limpets are a pain to use as they get shot down almost instantly if you haven't retreated a significant distance. I may have missed it, but your build doesn't include a cargo rack? You need that for limpets, right?
@@AdeScarle yep cargo rack instead of fuel scoop, I missed that on the video, my bad lol. Always retreat before launching limpets and fly very slowly while they work.
engineering is the poison thats killing this game, no matter how good a player is, u will never beat a thargoid interceptor without engineering, and guardian weapons, even as a wing, engineering also killed the pvp meta, but as is shown, this works fine for thargoid scouts pve
I dont find the grind killing i actually like the feeling of slowly building up to something and actually feeling it gets more powerfull actually gives you a reason to go out and explore a bit while getting materials looking at different guardian sites entering thargoid bases maybe its just me idk i started playing this in 2019 and keep having fun mind you im on console just ignoring the new content .. Maybe thats what killed the game because the new suits and guns are a bigger grind then you ships of what i understand combined with the engeneering your ships yeah that is a huge ass effort but only engineering the ships becomes easier as you go and keep collecting materials I even would encourage you to stay on console or horizons if you hate the grind the new stuff is certainly not worth it at least not yet maybe in another year or 2

Normal weapons do around 25% of what they do to human ships. These builds have zero grind but make sure to check the link at the end of this video for the new updated weapons that came out a couple of days ago.
I doubt players would want to see generic fight videos but for reference the ship was at HIP22460 and performed well against Scouts and in a wing helped with the larger stuff. Currently the ship is at Larsons relay Arietis sector helping defend it and again has been very good for it’s intended purpose. Don’t forget this is more of a beginners build so players don’t have to spend hours and hours grinding the Guardian tech that may end up useless anyway.

Do you have a Coriolis link please?
Coriolis link?

Agreed, I made a vid a few weeks ago on that ship.

Regarding hardpoints: Why didn't you go for 3x L AX-MC and 2x M regular MC?
exactly what I was looking for!

Well looking at the story I think most players will need one. Later today a Chieftain AX build video will be up, packs a bit better outright punch.

So your argument is that players should be able to access the endgame without gearing up for it? Never really seen any game do that.

Engineering - lazy content creation grind for interest rather than content for interest
