That’s so weird. I remember when they would put Lego out at Toys R Us it would flag in their system that it’s before street date. I’ve been accused of going into their back room and getting them because I guess that makes more sense than an employee ignored the box warning and put them out. For Walmart not to even have them in the system is odd. Like you said people are clearly buying them cheating somehow. I get why they just put stuff out early so there is no backlog but street dates seem silly for toys when a child or adult that isn’t into figures has to be told what a street date is
I got all the figures. How is it cheating if they sell them to you? Just because its 4 days before street date? Not my problem. But NO. I did NOT cheat the system. Macys "Toys R Us" sections are selling all the figures and its ringing up fine in their systems. A lot of people got them from Macys or other stores that dont care or honor street dates. Your ethics are different than mine, maybe. But I legally paid for my figures at the cashier. I didnt have a friend who worked there. The stores ethics or lack of knowledge? Thats on them.
Happened to me too a couple weeks back at Target. Just randomly browsing the toy section and saw the big figures and was so pumped! I didn't even know they were coming and I knew my son would love them. Went to go pay and they go 'oh sorry those shouldn't have been out... we can get in trouble.' Game over :-(

This happened when I found the Last Jedi figures before the street date. I scanned other Star Wars figures and put the Last Jedi figures in my cart, including the Jedi Master Luke. The other Star Wars figures were the same price so I didn't feel bad about it.

If you know now the super mario figures you cannot buy them, you have to wait till february 26
I can't tell you how many times I've gone to Wal-Mart or Target looking for certain toys and can't buy them because A) they're never in stock, if they come to my area at all, or B) "street dates".
And THAT, is why I get my figures from either Amazon or Big Bad Toy Store.
This happened to me before at Target with a Spiderman Miles Morales, it was so frustrating, by the time street date hit there was no figures...
I bought Bowser today at Walmart with no problem, but it was the last one. Those suckers sold quick.

My mom scanned the Peach's Castle toy in Target today and an employee came saying that they can't be bought until the toy's release date.
If it's on the shelf I don't know how it's not released... Keep it in the back if it's not ready yet?
Making a street date for these toys is like an equalivant of showing a display of a dog and then says its not for sale.

I bought the bowser today, after getting it setup though it refused to produce the vapor. The effect worked, but the 8-10 drops of water didn't produce anything. I added a little more and still no luck. I'll have to see if I can swap it for a new one at the store.

Universal and Nintendo must be serious about these not being sold before street date for whatever reason. Weird.

I currently work at walmart and we have that display still in the backroom. Should be available for purchase any day now, I think ours had a date for the 25th?? 26-ish.. Right around there..
Same!!! Well I haven’t found these figures the first ones I’ve seen were the mini figures with ? Block 3 out of the 6 at a target and I was excited until they told us they weren’t supposed to be out yet smh I felt the same way!! But we recently found the hot wheels set for the movie.
Last time i went to my walmart i found 3 of the cars but when i asked if there were any more of that they said that they weren't supposed to be out yet and if i scanned them anyway it wouldn't work so i just gave them back and just go back next week or something
Walmart did the same thing to me the other day when I seen that they had put out the new Pokémon crown zenith tins and denied the sale. Drove me crazy and went back week later still no sale. Even said they were going to have to send them back to claims warehouse.
I'll never understand Target and Walmart not letting you buy things THEY put out on the floor. And then they talk to you like you did something wrong like customers are walking around in the storeroom and are pulling these things out. Are we supposed to guess which products in their stores are for sale? Is it a game or is it commerce? Do they want to sell things or not? This has happened to me at least 5 or 6 times. "Well, you can come back in a few weeks" they say. "No, I am here now. If you don't want to sell it, then don't put it out" says me. There is my rant about unorganized box stores who don't actually care about toys (or respect or understand the fact they are being given exclusives).

I just got mine today. This Bowser figure is one of the best figures I have in my collection! Also, I feel for ya man.. I don’t get why they put shit out on the floor if it’s not even buyable yet? Like, people are gonna try and buy it. And won’t have any luck… so why don’t they just keep the shit in the back until the release date? Sometimes Walmart is run by a bunch of dumbasses…

Toys R Us at Macys let me buy everything yesterday even though street date is 26th. They clearly dont care. lol I got everything pretty easily.

That’s happened to me at Walmart with a video game it was on display didn’t have no sale tag for less then 5$ and it was a 40$ dollar worth game lady was sus she called the manager couldn’t sell me the games
They let me buy them for my 7 yr old son .
Maybe they're all just slowly getting added to the walmart street date impound in the back and nobody's doing anything unethical, no..not toy collectors. 😇🤣

That's what I'm saying. It seems pointless to stock something that can't be bought. Worst case scenario you set up a display for the figures with a "Coming Soon" sign. This just seems like one big hassle for employees to ring stuff up only to disappoint customers all day long because they can't be sold.
Street dates suck. Not like the toys are spoiling anything for the film.
