  • This week I'm working with Braylee of East Brookfield, MA! Braylee is a second time student, who is really starting to perfect her attack position. We talk about the dynamics of the attack position, setting up to arc your corners, starts, and more!

    Wow, what a great attack position! Question: Is it better to start in 1st or 2nd gear on the 2t?

    Great video Coach J!
    At 4:45 timestamp in the video you said select gear before braking. Is that the common sequence to do before braking for a corner?
    Is it ever to brake and then downshift for a corner?

      @CoachJames749  Год назад +1

      Yes! You want to get the proper gear selected before you do your braking in all cases. The reason, is so you can utilize that engine brake for the small amount of time that you're off the brakes, and before you've gotten on the gas. The other reason is because once you're done braking, you want to focus on executing the corner. The last thing you would want is to have to move your feet out of the proper position at the last second, just to select gears. Hope that helps!

      @@CoachJames749 Interesting!
      When you downshift then brake and sometimes that aggressive sudden jerk happens; what do you recommend to stop that ?

    • @CoachJames749
      @CoachJames749  Год назад +1

      @@bunnyman6321 Sudden jerk? I'm not sure at all what you mean by that. Make sure that you're not pulling in the clutch while downshifting, because that's the only thing that would cause that.

      @@CoachJames749 Yup I use the clutch when downshifting. I won't use it no more. You know your stuff.
      Thanks for responding Coach James! May you have much success in all your endeavors 💰 💯
