When I was younger, I was happy when I saw clothes made in Cambodia🇰🇭. I soon learned about the exploitation, and what people go through to make these clothes.
A Cambodian/Khmer American activist once set up a sewing machine in front of H&M's Times Square. In solidarity with the oppressed workers in Cambodia, for eight hours, he stitched 2 & 2/3 actual dollar bills, the daily salary of the garment workers in Cambodia.

Some people argue that 2 2/3 dollars is better than starvation.

american made clothes, union line, union house, american appearal, texes jeans, wigwam sox, thorlo sox, hardwick suits, some of joseph abbud, anderson little blue blazers, saxon blazer, sub 4 running, lightning speedsuites, soark running, melinzana outerwear, earl stan ray painting clothes, andrew rohan sweaters, and for the old school kats that like overalls some carhearts still are and lastly, the original railroading clothes Roundhouse workwear.
You just have to look there aren't many but they are out there but some is very expensive as they are custom made and tailor made stuff often times, oh and we still have plenty of boots made in the usa, and several sox makers, as well as a few dress shoe makers, like allen edmonds, and arolite/johnassan footware. several still make moccasins if your into that but they are not cheap, though they will last you a long long time.
while most of the jobs arn't comming back we can still save what we still have, and many are the origianals, johnson wollen mills, pendalton wollen mills, gasoline cowboys, some of the stuff from usa wings ect.

There are two sides to this. Americans may be losing jobs to workers overseas is only one aspect. The other is that even though the worker in China is making only $270.00 a month, it might be much more than she was making before getting this job. While I can sympathize with American workers (I am "underemployed" at the moment), I also have no objection workers in other countries being able to raise their standard of living.

Socks today are ill-fitting. I have far too many pairs of socks that have excessive elastic at the top - - it's like a tight rubber band several inches above the ankle. Extremely uncomfortable. My question: Why are clothes so poorly made? And then there are briefs and boxer shorts. Also inferior to those from my high school and college days. Both in the cut and in the thin materials used.

there is literally no reason to buy things specifically made in america. those jobs are never coming back here unless we eliminate the minimum wage or convince people to pay insane prices for their items. the more we convince people to embrace consumerism and always buy new disposable crap (black friday, new ipods every 6 months, etc) the more outsourcing makes sense. trying to get things made here is a lost cause at this point.
