  • In this Science (Physics) video in Hindi for Class 9 we explained the basic fundamentals of gravitation. This is a topic from Chapter 10 - 'Gravitation' for class 9th from NCERT.
    For thousands of years we were amused why objects fall downwards. Isaac Newton came up with a concept known as force of gravity.
    Gravitational force or force of gravity is the force created between two objects due to their mass. It is the force responsible for the earth to revolve around the sun, the moon to revolve around the earth.
    To quantify this force of gravity we need to know the universal law of gravitation, which will be covered in the next video.

    Hello sir!! Sir I find your videos very helpful, u explain concepts in a very easy way that triggers our intuition! Sir, I have tried to devise a very simple proof of inertial and gravitational mass equivalence used in relativity... Plz tell sir is it correct or not ?
    W= Gravitational mass
    m= Inertial mass
    g= acc. due to gravity
    W=mg or W/m=g (for a "constant" acc. due to gravity)
    Thus, W is directly proportional to mass.
    Now, if we were to increase the mass for ex, then for constant acc. due to gravity g,
    (x)W/(x)m=g [ "(x)" shows the increment (same) shown in both mass and weight, as they are directly proportional]
    Since the increment is same, it cancels out , and we get W/m=g yet as again..
    I have tried to give a statement for this "proof" : *an object of twice the weight will have twice the force of gravity ( and subsequently g ) pulling it down (obviously), but it will also have twice the mass. These two coefficients would cancel up and henceforth the "net" ratio would be the same as that of the original one, hence the acceleration would be the same in all the cases*
    Sir plz it's a very humble request for u to devote just 5 min of your precious time and tell whether it's okay or not??? If something is wrong plz give the solution for that sir 🙏🙏🙏

    • @carultch
      @carultch 2 года назад +1

      Your math is correct, but I wouldn't consider that a proof
      I would consider that circular reasoning, since it relies on the experimental fact already, that gravitational mass and inertial mass are indistinguishable. If you were to prove it, you'd have to start with the premise that they might not be equal to each other, and show through other principles that they'd have to equal each other..
      Call inertial mass J. (I'm choosing J as the neighbor of I, because it's more distinct for this font). Call gravitational mass m.
      The force of gravity (W) is given by W=m*g
      Newton's second law, rewritten with J in place of m, would be F=J*a
      Free fall acceleration (af), would therefore be:
      af = m*g/J
      Experimentally, we know that free fall is independent of mass, which means that J ultimately has to be proportional to m. To keep it simple, we say they are equal by convention, and "m/J" would simply equal 1, thus af = g. If they were "not equal" and we defined them to be equal out of ignorance, then the constant of proportionality between gravitational mass and inertial mass, would just get absorbed in the universal gravitational constant, when we go to measure it.

      Yes. We all know.
      He along with thousands of sages in India were genius due to their attainment of dharana, then dhyana and then moksha.
      They realized a lot of things modern science is discovering today.
      But, do you know what was the formula he gave for gravity??
      I do not think so. There is none, I think.
      Realising a thing and formulate that with other physical quantities are two entirely different things.
      You need to respect both....
      When it is modern science, you need to respect those scientists like Newton, Einstein etc.
      I do not say that modern science is the only way to understand the reality. There is a better and easier way - Ashtanga Yoga. But modern science is another path to attain the ultimate reality.
      Learn what science means....

      @@ariegenarula7462 The sun's gravitational field is so much larger than Jupiter's gravitational field, once you are as far away as the other gas giant planets, that Jupiter doesn't dominate the gravity that Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune experience. Sir please make video in SKF velocity which is the part of gravitation. And sir your explanation style is very fundamentally Tq so much sir

    • @carultch
      @carultch 2 года назад

      The term is Escape velocity. I can see how it would be mistaken for "SKF velocity", as "escape" sounds similar to the letters "SKF".
      It refers to the energy needed to leave a world's gravitational field completely, and the corresponding initial speed you'd need to start with, when moving away from the world. You can leave in any direction as long as it isn't on a crash path. You can also have any mass, and it will be the same speed. It assumes that you start with this speed, and coast outward with no resistive forces.
      Even if you accelerate continuously, you still need to plan energy for propulsion, as if you accelerated instantly to the escape speed.
