Prionia is the gate to Mount Olympus (Όλυμπος) the home of the Greek Gods. It is the highest location accessible by car on Mount Olympus located at an altitude of 1100 meters and is approximately 19 km from Litochoro.
The Olympus Range is located on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, between the regional units of Larissa and Pieria, about 80 km (50 mi) southwest from Thessaloniki.
