What a joyous recording! So impressive! Not only are the voices so pristine and the conduction so masterful, but also all the accoustic nuances, blends, contrasts, distances, textures, translate perfectly in the recorded sound! About the work itself, I wonder how people back in the 16th Century could emotionally survive a music of such immense intensity. Thank you for sharing this!
The Sanctus is hypnotising, it's an ongoing echo of the love for god, as if echoes from all the corners of creation itself. If the composer had this intention in mind, could it mean that choirs were as "good" as they are now? Sorry, the question is a little bit shaky and it's a bad premise, but yeah.
