Looks pretty much the same, I was just too excited thinking we own the same one :(... But to answer your question, no I don't know about his guitar, looks like a yamaha at least, very close to before mentioned series.
He seems to often play tunes in E minor or A minor because arrangements in most other keys, using standard tuning is more difficult. Using capo helps of course.

As far as I know.. Video compression and fx might make notes sound different too.
