SSJ Future Gohan's ultimate in BT3 included two attacks that teen Gohan used against the Cell Jrs. The u-turn kick and the jaw punch were used to knock out one Cell Jr each. Learning that, I'm disappointed with the new ultimate. Losing the backflips is fine, but those two attacks were such a fun detail! Especially considering that Future Gohan's existence hinges on the androids and Cell; makes sense his fights with them would be represented. Didn't realize this until rewatching DBZA, but still.
I'm wondering if they thought Gohan's rush ultimates were too long in BT3 because Kid Gohan's, Ultimate Gohan's and Future Gohan's Ultimates all rush through the combos and cut out the opponent's reaction to the blast. Just a thought
His SSJ's Grab and Ultimate on bt3 were much cooler and savage compared to his SZ ones. He is still my current main on the game (S2 rank with him using base form) but man his BT3 SSJ version still is the goat version (better looking combo strings, grab and special moves for his SSJ).
Strange how they gave him some of Gohan (Adult) voice lines from BT3 in his SSJ form. Back then SSJ Future Gohan & GT Goku SSJ1 and 3 were mute when they get hit.
they should've added this functionality in SZ. We know in the movie gohan starts with two arms and gets one when defending trunks. In the game when the players get damaged by a normal super he loses the arm. Even with the two arms his character model can still fight the same
I'm gonna be honest Omega I find your obsession with moves having reaction shots and docking ones that don't kinda odd. Maybe I just prefer snappier animations/cinematics but the ultimate here looks good and I don't think dragging it out for a few more seconds is really necessary. I also don't think I've ever seen a DBZ game with "enemy reacts to the beam" shots that don't look insanely goofy tbh LOL
Every one of these movesets videos reminds me how sorely lacking the impact pacing is in these attacks. Raging Blast had it down to a tee, but BT3's version of Future Gohan's ultimate was also incredible. Just the subtleties of the way the attack start in that game with the framing of the punch right in the jaw speaks volumes about the differences in SZ and BT3. I definitely want to get this game at some point but it feels like some incredible steps forward in custom missions and the visuals but a downgrade in the way it's presented. For me personally also just a downgrade as a raging blast head the way movesets are handled, though you covered that pretty well already.
He still is full of hope. Did "My duty is to guide the next generation" not give you some indication of hope? He's just worn down from all the battles. Considering he's fought non-stop for years on end with little breaks, I think this made sense. It's the furthest Gohan has ever been from his dream of being a scholar, so all he's serving as is the mentor that "has to keep fighting". A far cry from the mild-mannered family man that we see in the normal timeline, right?
Disagreed, Because Let’s be real: He was Earth’s last defender, Spent decade and a half tussling with Androids yet still powerless to save everyone anytime they go on a mayhem. Stuff like that inevitably takes toll on his well-being.
There’s only so many generic battle lines you can have in a fighter based on a shonen, and with this many characters there’s bound to be a lot of repetition
My only gripe with Future Gohan is nothing with the character, but with the dub. Why are some voicelines so low quality? Especially in super saiyan it is obvious when you do combos. I do like the new voice direction Kyle got, though. This is a gohan that is *done*. He's down and lost an arm, but he's still fighting.
