Much cheaper than Discogs. You'll be there as i find a bunch of great vinyl records at an Antique Mall. Secondhand stores can be a great place to find records for much cheaper than online.

Jeff! This was so crazy! I bought probably 1000 records...so I've got lots of boxes of records to contend with!...everyone of them needs to be ultrasonically cleaned too! But, there's so many great records, it's a good "problem" to have! 🤣😂🤣

The thing that really makes it a hard decision is that just by opening it, it'll drop $200-300 in value! But, at the same time, when will i ever have another chance to get a mint copy for $3?!!!

You would have had a heyday at this place!!! I've got video of me flipping RIGHT PAST a $5000 record!!! Biggest mistake made in the history of vinyl record collecting... and i have the honor of being the person who screwed up so bad!!! 🤣😂🤣
Someone could have bought the whole lot and done VERY well!!! Three record store owners that i know looked at this collection before we were allowed to dig in it. They all passed or waaay low-balled...and everyone of them are complaining about their loss now!
My friend ended up with the $5000 record...he also got 4 copies of Maggot Brain (that's how crazy this place was!) He also found Morgen!

Thank you! That's one thing i didn't have...cash! I wish i had a lot more money at the time...there were many great records that i passed on because i couldn't afford to buy everything! I overspent...I HAD too!!! Too good to pass up! I had to scramble to make my rent payment!...but it was all worth it!

I became hooked on surf music after seeing Quentin Tarantino's 'Pulp Fiction' in 1994 in a Vancouver movie theatre when the movie was first released and Tarantino has great soundtracks for his movies as you know. :)

I was so jealous when I saw Lord Sutch and Heavy Friends! I've been looking for that one for a while myself. I have an old LP copy that sounds like it was drug down the freeway doing 100 mph. I've got a mint sounding rip on CD I got from somebody but that's just not the same as having the LP and I'm going to find it again one day but in good shape! Let me rephrase that. In VG+ to Mint shape haha. I can hear Flashing Lights right now!

the big deal about Bloodwyn Pig is that Abrahms was the "sound" of Jethro Tull on the 1st three albums (albeit with added flute parts).
After he left to form his new band, Ian Anderson changed JT to their still-rocky "Aqualung sound" and then it went straight into english folk (Songs Of the Wood, etc) thereafter.

Dude that first batch was pretty cool! That Standells was the standout as well as the pair of Uriah Heep Salisbury! And of course that DEVO Live EP was a fave of mine as a teenager! I used to spin it religiously! I actually kinda like that Edward Bear LP LoL! At least the one hitter “Last Song”! Ok so now onto the next round! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️

My gawd...what scores! PiL LPs in the tin! Scratch Acid! I have never seen that Scratch Acid LP. I do have "The Greatest Gift" on CD. Speaking of SA and David Yow, I saw Jesus Lizard back in 1997 here in Florida and David Yow jumped off the stage and put me in a bear hug. I kept elbowing him in the stomach to let go but instead he kept singing. LOL I screamed into the mic and then he let go and we looked at each other and laughed. I was playing bass for Thor in 2006. Scratch Acid was doing a reunion tour then. They showed up at the door of our gig in Chicago. I told them i could probably get them in, but they ended up going elsewhere.
I've been to a few small to big finds. Had to leave most of it behind. I went to a church, and they had some really good records. Most I couldn't take back with me. They were a real bargain. Got a few Folks, Joe Walsh, Harry Nilsson, Jimmy Buffett. Makes you wonder where the big collection that you went to, came from? The prices were good. How can anyone go through 100,000 records. I got into Hugo M back in the 80's with Moog power.

Ned from Spain to say I love those Bang LP's and was lucky to snap them up like 20 years ago for low bucks. Like Grand Funk meets Sabbath and the 2nd LP has Bruce Gary stepping in and stompin the drums. He was in the effin Knack too but he was a slammer with Bang. I love a whole lot of the discs you scored but all those Los Bravos are snappy and kinda rare. Way to go.

I'm a collector of Japanese vinyl. Most major collections like these never include any. I'm very big into Japanese Jazz etc. I'd love it if we got more of that good stuff in the west rather than the generic "Elvis or beatles fanboy'

(look that one up!)...i was going to post the values of the records i found, but decided not to because it's very time consuming...but the numbers are astronomical!!!

I was really big into surf in the mid 90s...i worked at a record store at the time, and i curated the surf (and rockabilly) sections of the store. Now i always pick it up when i find it cheap.

That Scorpion album brings back memories of my high school years. I'd pass by the neighborhood record store when walking home, and they had a deeply inset entrance with long window displays on both sides. That Scorpion album sat in one of those windows for years, eventually getting really faded from the sun. Most of their business was in 8-tracks and 45s, and they didn't change the window displays very often.
Yeah, it hurts to see those old sun faded records...it was probably light blue I'm guessing.

You killed it man, because you know what to look for. Don't worry about blind buys, as most are garbage, however it only takes one time to hit an unknown grail. If you go back, look for the first 1969, IRON MAIDEN LP called, "MAIDEN VOYAGE". Completely different band. Also these see Cdn. LPs : Reign Ghost / Christmas (with the tank on the cover) / The Spirit of Christmas.

I am still watching so may post some more later. I saw that ad originally and was interested but I had Covid. You are right the pictures didn't do it justice. She told me there were over 700,000 records in two houses and three garages. I used to know Phil who owned these records back in the 80s and 90s. I did make it over a month later for a bunch of $1 albums but nothing earth shattering. My friend John bought some boxes for $10 each. He felt like he got some decent stuff in them.
Yeah, it was definitely MUCH better at the very beginning!!!...then it started to go down hill very fast!

This is insane. Amazing stuff you picked up. If these were $3 each, I would have said. “I will buy it all at $2 a piece”. Go rent a u-haul and a storage unit and take your time going through everything. Not have to worry about anybody else getting the good stuff.

Wow, that is just unreal!!! I had to laugh though, I was just starting to think man there is a lot of obviously super cool stuff here but I've never heard of a lot of it. And literally seconds later you said, "I had to make a lot of blind buys". I do it too. Sometimes it pays off Sometimes it doesn't. I think that's 1/2 the fun.
I think I would have seriously considered offering them 30 cents a record for everything , mortgaging my house and opening up a record store.
I wish i was able to buy the whole collection as a lot! There was tons of crap there too...i had to wade through a LOT of Perry Como's and Roger Whitakers to find the good stuff! But, boy...was there good stuff!!!

You should have seen some of the other records that they had pulled out and priced! I can't remember any specifics, but, $3-5 records priced at $20! 🤣😂🤣 If they didn't recognize it, they didn't think it was good!
