I am so happy that Shape Builder is finally here! Definitely getting the V2 as soon as I can.

@@zelimamata There were only the pathfinder tools that do boolean operations

might be good for anyone watching this to know the keyboard shortcuts because someone had to tell me about them. If you have no action selected in the context bar you can make your area selections and then hit enter to combine them, or delete to erase them. Still not as easy as using alt to subtract in illustrator, but a little easier than going up to the context bar every time

For those having trouble with the infinity symbol, hitting Ctrl + Y to enter wireframe mode helps to better visualize the intersections the shape builder tool will operate on so you can move the circle curves to get the right intersection shapes

Is this also possible on the iPad app?
Consequently, is there a link to what the differences are between the desktop version and the ipad version?

Nice tutorial. But it would be helpful if you could provide the example files.

How do you snap the edge of a circle to the edges of another two circles in one point only, like in the guitar example?

The ADD is just not working for me, it seems to malfunction randomly according to the position of the same objects. At some point it does merge both objects into one, but if I move them differently, it just makes a DIVIDE action. Anyone else experienced something like this??

Great! It's been a long time since I quitted Adobe for good. Affinity must be the first option to be taught at any college, in my opinion

How do you turn off the feature that keeps the strike with the same size when compressing the shape. It’s so annoying

How do we get more expositions like this as in a thorough tutorial that defies the limits of our imagination?

To anyone new to Affinity Designer or in general new to vector drawings, who are trying the "infinity" example.
The narrator says "Ellipses", but that is incorrect. I tried this example going on literally what the narrator says, and on version 2.1 it is impossible to achieve the result as in the video.
First clue, when the "circles" are selected in the video, look over at the Layer panel. You'll see they are "Curves" not "Ellipses". This is really lazy narration, it maybe that the narrator is just a voice over artist, and someone else wrote him a script to read, and the script writer also doesn't fully understand terminology for the various shape elements.
Second clue, also notice the selected shape colour indicators for the shape centre and shape border. When the blue "circle" is selected. The centre colour is blue and the border colour transparent. This is further indication that it's not an "Ellipse", but a "curve". Same for the black "circles"
After the realisation above. I guess that the black "Curves", and blue "Curves" are achieved as follows.
    (1) Draw an Ellipse.
    (2) Draw a smaller Ellipse,
    (3) Place smaller ellipse in the centre of the larger one,
    (4) Using shape builder subtract the centre,
    (5) repeat steps 1 to 4 for both black "curves" and both blue "curves".
    (6) Overlap the "curves" as per the video.
    (7) Try the shape builder example
Unfortunately, I found that even after the above steps, I still can't achieve the end result! Furthermore, I've found (from version 1 to now 2.1) that the shape builder tool will work for a while, then start producing weird outcomes/results, when operations that were previously carried out are repeated. Things go back to normal, once Affinity Designer application has been closed down and reopened. It's like beta software even though it's 2.1.0 now.
Also please note in version 2.1.0, the menu bar tools "Drag method", and "clean up" are now in drop-down selection boxes. And the clean-up options are labelled slightly differently than in this now 7 month old example.

This feature is a piece of garbage. It should be called circles and squares because beyond that it starts to malfunction or not work at all.
