Bryan, Really appreciate you taking the time to create these videos. You are very thorough with your explanations. Enjoying the whole build process. Keep plugging along. One step at a time. You’ll be flying before you know it. 👍
I plan on starting a Kitfox 7 build in the next year, and as such, have watched a LOT of different folks involved in their builds of their own Kitfox's... Your videos are excellent, brother, as you are very detail oriented in your work, and explanations of said work, which I appreciate greatly! Something which many do to a certain degree, but yours are among the best! Thank you!!
Really appreciate the effort, and time you're taking to help the rest of us with this project. Good thing about RUclips is that all your videos will be there for me to review once I get my kit and begin my build.
Thanks for sharing. It looks like you’re doing a very meticulous build and if you’re able to keep the pace and drive I’m sure this is going to be a beautiful little bird. Good job 👍 and keep it up.
Love that every scene cut, you have a different hat. Must have one hell of a hat collection. In all seriousness, it looks like you’re doing an awesome job on this build!
I agree with Miles and Scott, no need to apologize as your videos are super great. Your sharing them is also super inspiring too. Ok, so some constructive feedback. Not sure if Gorilla Tape will work with the acetone and as that stuff is super powerful it might just end up being a mess, but for other applications, especially electrical, check out the new Gorilla Tape. This wing update is super useful. The detail and your workmanship shows and will yield great results in the end. Your approach is so genuine and real-world man in his garage makes the videos come across as both insightful as well as inspiring as, yeah I can do that, step by step. I want to express how cool your build videos are and you have a lot of guys rooting for you and looking forward to this aircraft getting airborne. Additionally, it would be great to see you crush Trent in the STOL races @ deadCow and some of the other places you guys have competed. Perhaps you might be able to enhance your wing construction with VG's and some of the add-on features that the STi wing has as you know the aerodynamics have been tested. The flying you did in backcountry Idaho was amazing by the way. It will be really interesting to see this aircraft come together as I recall you're installing the snow machine engine, yes?
Your Videos are Great! I recently got a KF Mod IV (Speedster) so the vids have been very informative … was hoping to see something on how you leveled the wings and figured out the front pin placement hole in the front spar (that's where I'm at right now) … lemme know if I missed that vid! Keep'em comin'!!
Video to long??? I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I love the content showing the almost step by step process of building your Kitfox. Gives me hope for when I can finally order mine. I'm sure I will thane to watch them over and over. Thanks again; can't wait for the next one.
Doing great job on the construction of the Fox kit. Should turn out quite well as seems you are very meticulous when doing the fit-ups. Good stuff! Do you have a color scheme in mind for it yet?
Great technical content for the wing construction. Just curious, what part of the build are you feeling is going to be the biggest hurdle? Keep having fun in between otherwise you lose sight of why you're doing it in the first place. And most important - don't rush it.
Hey Brian, did you drill the attachment holes in the spar that connect the wing spar to the carry through tubes? I checked episode 2 and it does not look like the kit you had purchased had the pre rigging option completed.
I haven't seen your son since he said he was going to help. I know damn well MY Dad wouldn't have built custom saw horses when he could just have me stand with my arms over my head for an hour.
Kerbal AirForce It has been really hard to find things that they can do. Everything is so critical. But they are constantly there watching, asking questions and being apart of it taking shape.
Hey there! Got one question, youre saying that the wings are not level, so how much higher are they from the center to the outer end? Or where can i find that info. I am fixing a kitfox 7 but cant find how to adjust the height.
So that would be covered under the wing construction section where you attach the wing to the fuselage. then the wing strut length is going to determine the dihedral.
Flox are cotton fibers and are added to adhesives (Hysol) as a thickener and strengthener. When you join two dissimilar metals, you add micro balloons, which are small silicon or glass beads that prevent all the adhesive being compressed away when clamping. From what I understand, micro balloons do not add structural strength like flox does. I do not believe that either additive have an effect on corrosion. Although using micro balloons would help keep a thin layer of adhesive intact, which may help prevent corrosion.
@@dmitrytoushe4533 Pretty much every modern airplane uses Aluminum spars, some older planes use wood and some newer use composite, fiberglass or carbon fiber.
@@BowenAero I’m just Russian, and therefore I think that in America only robots on 3D printers should make airplanes, only from carbon fiber and only using solar energy.

I cannot stress how important these vids are still 👌🏼
No need to apologize for doing awesome things between time spent building an awesome airplane. Thanks for the videos!
Thanks for putting so much time into these videos Bryan. Definitely a great resource.

Awesome videos. Thanks for taking the time to document your build. Very helpful to those of us considering taking on the challenge.

I am not building (no money!), but this info is soooo good for everyone. Thanks for posting and teaching.
Thanks Bryan. Great work with both the airplane and video.
I like your attention to detail and quality. You will have a great plane.
Awesome, thanks for doing these. I am right behind you in the build process and the info. is really helpful.
I’m at around the same place in my build. This videos are awesome. Answered a lot of questions I didn’t know I had yet!
wow kitfox goes up faster then i taught , nice work , thanks for sharing Bryan.

Love your videos. Can’t wait to start my Kitfox- probably a year away.

I wanna build one airplane like your airplane here at Brazil, Nice job man

Great video! Do you know what material are the wingspans made from? Thankss

I do but I keep changing my mind on colors.
A great video mate. I like your wing supports, reckon I’ll do something similar

Damon Hancock For me it was the paint, but it was a fun and rewarding process not to be feared. Next hurtle will be the cowling.
Hey Brian, did you drill the attachment holes in the spar that connect the wing spar to the carry through tubes? I checked episode 2 and it does not look like the kit you had purchased had the pre rigging option completed.
The guy I bought the kit from had done that already.
Anything you would have changed about your wing stands? Got any plans, or did you just eyeball it all?
Just a quick eyeball build. They work good, but kinda big for the workspace.
Sure is a lot of time consuming work. I saw Alex Di sessa's video on your adventure and the flooding of the dry lake.
I don't see any video of how you added the trailing edge. Do you have video of that?
Just a mention of it at 21:50 in episode 8. The trailing edge is factory installed on the quick build wing, accept behind the fuel tank.
is fiberglass compatible with gasoline? read some article where the fiberglass will separate inside the fuel tank. nice vid also.
Kitfox makes the fuel tanks with fuel and ethanol resistant fiberglass resin.
Did you get the “newest” version tanks?
I have the 2018 tanks
So does Kitfox layout the aircraft in water lines and fuselage stations in their drawings?
I haven't seen your son since he said he was going to help. I know damn well MY Dad wouldn't have built custom saw horses when he could just have me stand with my arms over my head for an hour.

Great
So can you reuse the acetone on every flush seeming the debris gets separated every time? Jez
No you use fresh acetone each flush, I saved the acetone to use for other purposes like cleaning before welding.

Ok thank you
When you talk about “flux” in the adhesive to prevent dissimilar metal corrosion did you mean “flox” (adhesive with cotton fibres added)?
Yes
NO!!! Flox is added for easier bulking and sanding. Its micro balloons he is referring too, which he is calling flux

Hi, tell me, please, the pipe from which the wings are made of what material is aluminum, titanium, steel and what is its diameter and thickness?
Aluminum.
@@BowenAero Thank you, I think aluminum is not reliable, but good luck to you.
