In the Netherlands we have a perhaps fitting saying: "The way the clock ticks at home, it doesn't tick anywhere else".
Also helped me realize that after I moved out, a ticking clock was the thing that I subconsciously really missed, so I'm planning to buy one soon. They look and sound just too beautiful.

Although I have a small collection of antique/vintage clocks, I hate to see clocks lined up on walls. Just seems a little crazy! That being said, they are beautiful.

I wish I had the time to really learn from an expert how to work on and restore these clocks, and develop those skills. We've got a handful of beautiful old mechanical chiming clocks in the family (a couple of which are now mine), but they all need work and I miss hearing them run and chime. Since I grew up with them, I've been fascinated with them since childhood.
