- During the filming of Generation Iron - the crew took painstaking detail to cover as much of the Mr. Olympia competition as possible. That means on stage, in the seats, and - most importantly - the back stage. Unfortunately, not everything could make it into the movie. One big thing that got cut short is the presence of the iconic Lou Ferrigno making rounds backstage and inspiring the current top tier bodybuilders - like Kai Greene, Phil Heath, and Branch Warren.

When you're trying to weasel your way around shit, backstab, and talk forever-- that's not competition, that's you not having love for what you do. Think you need to understand the connotation of being humble my guy. Not the definition. Kai had everything in his head going on and still showed respect and all phil could do was talk about how he hates others, the two are stark different.

Wow.. green was like a child meeting his hero, and Lou couldn’t been more nice and complementive to him. This like lifted my heart seeing them meet and engage with each other. Definitely shouldn’t been left in the movie

Lou is such an inspiration and a true gentleman giving support to the younger bodybuilders as a father figure
Watch Lou Ferrigno in his documentary "Standing Tall" and not only will you see Lou at 325lbs in 1994 but you'll hear Arnold say that if Lou never retired in 1976 that he would have won the Olympia many times and been the best Mr. Olympia of All Time.

That just makes you want to give Kai a hug and just salute him. That was the coolest thing I've seen and you can tell it was genuine. There was No Bullshit there. That came from his heart. #Applauds

What I took from this video is that Lou is still an awesome guy, and that Kai stays humble and respectful in a sport based on vanity, while Phil is full of pride and envy that comes out through his speech.
Lui was always a mere shadow when Arnold was around, and it stayed that way.

The difference between phil and kai is really coming out here. You have a great and humble guy and a full of himself, talking behind someone's back kinda guy. Kai is just the best man. Phil you should take notes. Kai made Lou feel real special and appreciated. A man that can do that on that moment in a competition is a great man i tell you!

Lou initially spoke to Kai like a Pops about to straighten out a sulky son. But full credit to Kai for the tremendous respect shown. Big Lou even back-pedalled a little bit to help himself to some more.

Yes, Kai is showing that side of himself we've all come to respect and support. Phil is stressin' out about the dynamic between him and Kai. He can't let go of the topic. Phil is great but who can blame him. Kai was brutally intimidating and aggressive ( I hear for reasons not caught on video )...Lou diffused Phil's topic very diplomatically by recognizing where the talk was going and changing the subject abruptly. I could learn from that rather than getting sucked into , as Phil says,"cliques"...
Stay humble, even after all that hard work kai has put in he never forgets what got him there, the motivation that he got from all the bodybuilders from golden age, he wasnt cocky and he was actually very respective to one of his idols Lou Ferigno. He totally earned my respect.

Mark Dorchester actually he was 297lbs and he was walking around a couple months before at 31 lbs , but no way in hell did he compete at 325 lbs and he not 2 percent body fat, at 3 percent you can barely walk around before getting dizzy.

I always thought Phil was kind of a d-bag, but after seeing this video.... Damn.
In my opinion, Lou is the biggest d-bag of them all. Kai was incredibly humble and respectful to Lou; and even Phil was respectful to Lou. Lou, however, did not seem to have enough humility to acknowledge that Phil/Kai are also champions. What a cocky son of a bitch. I used to be the biggest Hulk fan as a kid. Very disappointing.

325lbs with 2% body fat? Sorry Louie but no way is that possible. Athletes have been measured at around 3% body fat but these are small guys in boxing and marathon running etc. If Louie had 2% body fat in 1982 then we have bodybuilders walking around with zero fat and of course that equals death. In fact at 2% body fat you would be very near death and certainly unable to function let alone spend an hour on stage under hot lights flexing!

BiodegradeableMan there is many ways to measure bf %, back then they probably didnt have DEXA scan or any of they fancy stuff we have nowadays to measure bf %, back then they had other ways to test bodyfat and less accurate, dorian said in interview that once he got to like 6-8% bf, test he used started not being accurate.

Not 325 pounds. He was a complete mess of shapeless muscle mass, which is why he placed near the bottom. He looked much better in 1975 when he went up against Arnold at 270 pounds.
