I think that the Toys-R-Us commercial was great overall. I can't wait until Sora and other similar tech and AI generated voice gets more advanced - longer clips, easier to use, etc. This will open up entirely new opportunities for independent movie directors and writers. They could literally make a feature length movie right on their PC with it very cheaply. No cast, sets, costumes, music, sound, locations etc. A HUGE plus for indie movie creators!

Dylan, it’s great to see you grow as a RUclipsr and hone your craft.
This has been one of the most enjoyable videos you’ve made and I didn’t plan on watching all 37 minutes, but you got me again!
Watch out for accidentally looping your content. I noticed the past couple videos, it randomly loops back and replays about 30 seconds midway through.
Speaking of midway through, try to avoid re-playing the same grimlock skit. It’s funny, but keep the whole video fresh. When they’re as long as yours are, breaking the feed for a rerun could break the spell on those who probably wouldn’t have noticed they watched it all the way through, like me.
Heck, even a new recording of you talking to your cool toys is fine as a recurring mid-reel gag, but keep it original each time.
FYI: We Roth is looking for small up and coming AI channels to highlight. Of course I shouted you out.
    Keep it Dylan and stay
    Curious my friend.

I think the robots are impressive however if you look at old footage from the early 1900s they had some crazy machines with gyroscopes in them. A couple of gyroscopes in a lightweight dog robot can make it do amazing things. That's crazy to me is it's old tech put together in a new form. 🤔

Here's a question I rarely see asked- Why would anyone use AI to generate images or videos that look photorealistic? The answer seems kind of obvious but it's really not- after all programmes like Sora and Midjourney can generate all sorts of styles and unique visual experiences- so why use these programmes to replicate the look of real photos and Video?
The only reason I can see is in order to try to leverage the authenticity that we tend to associate with the photoreal image- presumably Toys R Us felt that having a 'real' boy in their Ad rather than a Cartoon boy would create a deeper connection with their target audience.
But this leads to a paradox because it creates a situation in which the value of AI generated photorealism depends upon it not being seen as AI generated- because the moment I see that kid as being AI generated is the moment the authenticy and thus the connection is lost- my knowledge that the kid is not a real kid undermines my engagement with the Advert.
At present this problem is mostly theoretical- because we currently live in a world where most photo's and Video's are real and in this world AI generated material can 'pass' as the real thing. But at some not too distant point in time we will be living in a world where most photo's and Video will be AI generated- and the default position of the public will eventually adapt to this new reality.
Once this paradigm shift has occured an interesting thing may happen in terms of AI generated photos and Video because the 'authenticity' they seek to leverage will no longer exist- everyone will just assume that everything they see is fake!
The endgame then is that by using AI in an attempt to leverage the trust we all place in the photoreal more cheaply than using actual photos and Video the communications and advertising industries may end up poisoning the well of public trust upon which they depend- if every photo and every video is assumed to be an AI generated fake how effective will these images and photo's be as tools of communcation and persuasion?

@dylan_curious I thought the same thing too at first, but over time his videos have become longer and cover a vast amount for topics, that I no longer see him as a typical newb RUclipsr chasing the latest AI news that everyone else is talking about (this is no way to stand out amongst the others, or to the RUclips algorithm).
Now I understand his pivot into meticulously digging up AI nuggets of information missed by all the other popular RUclipsrs and then presenting them as like a rolling “what you might have missed over the past month” vlog.
It also gives him an opportunity to discuss older news (previously covered by RUclipsrs) from a different angle after all the hype has died down and after more information is known about it.
If you want bleeding-edge AI updates, then you have your pick of RUclipsrs for that. If you wanna see all that you might have missed over the past month, then go to Dylan as he’s now covering news the others won’t (because they don’t want to seen as “stale”).
Dylan, I think you’ve finally found your niche! I’m a highly technical nerd, but for others (like my Mom and sisters), I see them enjoying your format and learning everything from you for the first time, because why would Mom wanna follow someone like Wes Roth? Wes creates the esoteric content *I* enjoy, (but the rest of my family wouldn’t).
Don’t burn yourself out like before, stressing over delivering the latest AI/Tech news to us. Take your time and enjoy the research and contemplation you’re doing now.
