Couldn't agree with you more, Bones. I love having both the modern and the classic versions of characters in my collection. So much fun building all these different teams and different eras of teams. Really love the Platinum Hal Jordan version of Spectre as well. Hoping I can get my hands on him so I can have all 4 versions of Hal in the display!

@@bonesandthenecrozoo Yep. You are absolutely right. The variety of the DC Multiverse line is never gonna happen with the rest of these lines.
What I'm loving about this figure is that in the Comics right now, Hal is wearing this costume currently. So it works as a classic or modern take on Hal. I'm still waiting for mine thou.

I like this figure a lot It has a real nice classic look. Even though it's not my favorite look for harold It looks good especially the head It has a nice charisma. But I am waiting for a modern comic book that combines the two pack look with this one for the pre new 52 or new 52 with a metallic look. I absolutely love metallic lanterns and McFarlane hasn't done it too much yet.

Awesome! I'm only missing a classic Flash and GL, missed out on the BAF Flaahpoint wave and I dont wanna get that 2 pack with a Batman variant that I have no use for. Just ordered this GL so currently in the waiting game.
My current lineup is the collectors ed WW, the blue Knightfall bats, AC 1000 supes from the 2 pack, endless winter Aquaman, and the Gold label Manhunter. Hopefully Toddfather releases another classic flash so I can finally complete my definitive JLA 😅

Compadre you are right, of course I like me classic looking figures but that is always what we were getting from other toy companies, if they make new ones, at least give them new details without distracting from the core design and this is what Mcfarlane have been doing.
It's like the majority of people can't get enough of the same thing over and over again... Things we never seen in figure form are just as interesting...👍💀
Mine shipped the other day so should be arriving soon. It looks cool and I’ve got a spot for him with the nightfall Batman, classic Superman, Wonderwoman, flash that came with two heads, and some others.
I got the Todd and his og spawn design figures yesterday in the mail. I put up a video of them and the others from that wave. Those are cool too.
Where did you order both from? Got mine on Amazon nothing has shipped yet don’t know if my wallet is ready for all these McFarlane pre orders

Totally agree with you on the power batteries. Why are they translucent? This figure is far superior to the previous release, though I do like the original. The original was a cool figure but he cannot be posed with the other JLA figures because he is not at all comic accurate. I view the John Stewart/Hal Jordan first release as a Todd McFarlane-design, much like the McFarlane-designed Batman and Wonder Woman. Cool figures, but not comic accurate.
Great idea... If we ever get a Hal based on the Rayner suit... I'll build a McFarlane designed team with that original Hal...👍💀
@@bonesandthenecrozoo The new Plastic Man wave John Stewart uses the Kyle Rayner buck. He is also wearing a suit that Hal Jordan wore for a time (see "Hard-Traveling Heroes). If you repaint the neck and the back on that John Stewart figure, a simple head swap will make it a Bronze Age Hal Jordan.

I don’t know that I’ve seen anyone that truly enjoys collecting these figures as much as you do. It should be that way for all of us, but most of us have trouble accepting the negative and accentuating the positive. You see the negative, but you also see past it. I envy that quality in you.
As for the figure itself, my only (minor) nitpicks are the Blue Beetle boot tops (which almost seem inevitable at this point), and the trunks breaking up the uniform a bit. Outside of that, it’s a great looking figure. I’m a big Gil Kane fan, so I’m looking forward to pairing him with the rumored Golden Age Atom.
It's definitely a clean classic look for Hal...No shame in enjoying and building some classic teams...👍💀
I’m trying to wrap my head around this since I’ve heard you mentioned how you feel on alt heads a lot and I never put much thought into it but.. additional heads would help a lot of people who do not want to display both bodies, they only have to buy one figure for $20
Now your reasoning for being against that is because you personally display both sets. At the end of the day aren’t you still buying 2 of the same figure, with alt head included or not?
For example Jim Gordan as Batman, he comes with an alt head. You buy 2 of them to display one with the mask and one without it =$40
But if they released a Masked version for $20 and then a unmasked version for $20, you’d still buy them both = $40

Hey man absolutely love your reviews and in the UK don’t get a lot of the gold label, malamute exclusives so have to rely on eBay so have to be a little choosy because of the price. I love the original Hal Jordan release but am exactly the same in the arm length being too long so was wondering how you shortened the arm length as I know the gauntlets are moulded to the arm so don’t want to damage the figure. Thanks man in advance

@@bonesandthenecrozoo The chest color brown I’ll kinda make ore break the figure for me. I don’t really like where the black starts on the base and was hoping I could just erase some paint instead of having to paint it. I can’t remember if you said but do you plan to do any modifications?

Lowkey wished it had a teeth gritting face but beyond that he looks great, will most likely shorten the lower legs cuz they’re too long (did it to flash and Animal Man) great review man!
