Exporting anything from a map and importing into your map

    Amazing work but I have a question. I would like to transfer the mod (building) which is added in No Mans Land map (mushroom and flower greenhouse). How can I transfer those buildings into the other map ?

      Same process, export/import the i3d, then also find all the working components, xml, storeitems, L10n sections etc and bring them over.

    Hello Farmer Bob, I have been following along in this video and have a question or two for you. I am trying to copy over a shed with working doors and lights. In the video u mention the items xml and changing the position and rotation. My question is the map I am exporting from and the destination map the items.xml are empty except for the usual header footer info, I found the item in the placeable.xml file of the source map how do I use that if at all, or how do I complete the step u mention in the video when the source map items xml is empty but the item is in the placeable.xml, thanks in advance.

      Sure my friend,
      Ok,if there is a line in the items xml, it is a good sign. This means the building has its own xml.
      1. In the donar map, find that xml, copy that to your map, and route the new placeables line to that xml in your maps placeables.xml as well as in your modDesc.xml storeitems section. Same as you would do for a normal placeables.
      2. Open the xml, inside there you will find lines for the icon and most importantly the i3d of the building.
      So open that i3d in editor 8.x since its fs19 model.. then export it to a folder in your map for the building. ( you might already created one for the xml) using the export with files option, then select NO to both questions.
      3. Open the exported i3d in editor 9.0.4 and save. Re open in 904 and check console for errors. Fix all errors.
      Watch my new fs19 to 22 map conversion series especially episode 2 and 3 where i have done this process a few times.
      Then finally fix your xml lines to point to the new i3d you exported and verufy all other links like icon etc.
      Then test and check game log for errors and fix accordingly.

      @@FarmerBoBonRUclips Thank you for your reply but I am still at a loss, I'm attempting to take the workshop from the Monette Farm map (called MonetteWorkshop) and place it in the Huron MI map and Spring Creek map. But to follow along with your video so I can learn how to do that, I am first attempting to place it in your farmbob 16X start map. All are in Farm Sim 22 maps, In each map I am able to find the ITEMS-XML(replaced the period with a dash) all I find is a header with the start and end tags " " and nothing else. However, I am finding the workshop in the PLACEABLES-XML. of the Montte Map. I did go into the Monette Map place the shop , save and closed it. So as I watch your video your referencing the DEFAULT-XML which I am not finding and as stated, the ITEMS-XML is empty, so I am getting lost as I go along. I also learned by looking at the original Monette Workshop Folder, it has two other i3D for interior furnishings, not sure how to address that issue either. I have a some working knowledge of HTML and PHP so I am familiar with the concepts of opening and closing tags, headers, footers etc but this one has got me stumped. Thank you for your patience and if I am not allowed to mention specific items by name I apologize and will understand if you remove them. Thank you in advance!

    Awesome video so far i am just stuck on the bit where i have exported the placeable into the new maps folder and i am getting everything except the textures folder any help on this cheers

      Main important thing is to export the main transform (this should include everything) then use the export with files option, select "no" to both questions. This should include everything. If not, you will need to compare your export with the main transform of the original, check the materials window and manually transfer and add the textures etc.

    Hey farmer Bob I am trying to figure out to get the dairy barns from midwest view to red river Manitoba map but I am having issues with it.

      It should be an export and import from the one map to the other, then just doing the xml work

      @@rsgaming9646 hi brother, if this is all new id suggest follow my Giants Editor Mapmaking course, it is designed to help guys that start as a new makmaker make maps from the very beginning to the end and it is all in great detail and slow methodical process and includes everything there is to know on mapmaking..

What ur trying to do is not easy if you dont have some mapmaking experience. That type of thing is a bit more advanced as you need to dig out quite a few things to make a custom husbandry work.

    I for the life of me can not seem to even get the map to load into giants editor. when i go into my mods and maps the map isnt in there or i cant find the 3iD to load

      Check if u can open other i3d files, if not open editor alone, go to file, then preferences then check the game dir if it is correct. 👍🤗

    Would Trees be considered a working mod? to take trees for a logging specific map do i need anything other then the tree?

      or boulders and road/highways? do i have to do this with each tree i place? or boulder or highway section?

      Hi bro, the process explained here is to transfer things from one map to another, you only need to do this once for an item, from there you can just duplicate it in your map. Things like trees i would never bring over from any map unless its a custom tree for instance that is not found in the base game or if you are say doing a map conversion, then you would want the tree transform as in the main tree transform all the trees are positioned etc.

      once again, if its one item you want do it this way, if its a main transform like all the trees in the map when you are converting a map from fs19 to 22 then you bring in all at once by exporting and importing the main transform group.

      Hi bro.. no trees are not mods, you can find them in the base game under "trees" folder, just import them directly from there.

      sorry ur message was in spam folder :( never the less, the process is exactly the same as in the video. you cant just use xml files as the xml needs to have an i3d to pull into the map.

      @@Valo-Ran63 there might be stuff related to the placeable in the donar maps moddesc or storeitems or map.xml. sometimes there are (110n) stuff in the moddesc, just have a look.

    Is it possible to make them a mod? What you transfer becomes a mod and that you find them in construction mode under buildinga For example. So I can have them on any map I want? Really good videos, it makes playing a lot more fun when you can change things. Thanks 🙏

      Hi brother, yes you can make it a mod. U just need to use one of the moddesc files under the sdk and put that into the folder and custom the moddesc to include the placeable and you have a mod. 🤣😉🤗
