My son starts college in August and is ASD and ADHD. He’s relied on me to keep him organized for years. I’m going to get the new portrait planner for him to teach him how to keep himself organized. I think that layout might *actually* work for him.
I love that idea! I think there’s something special about being able to visualize everything that’s going on, and Laurel Denise designs are so good for that!
I fell in love with the idea of the Dutch door pages when I first learned about bullet journals. Those were way too much work for me. My husband was done using the steno style TUL disc binder (now discontinued, they don’t make paper for it anymore.) Picture me, rubbing my hands together with glee at the idea of creating Full and Dutch door, pages for a lovely, huge, horizontal, layout! On high-quality paper 🤗! After I run a bunch of practice versions, of course😂! I have too much on my plate right now to do that, but it’s on my list of very fun things to do!
I really like the new portrait planner. Laurel is so creative. Her covers are so pretty and feminine. Just when I think I have my planning system down, I find another planner I "need" to try. Haha! One of my family members said "you sure like to plan" 😂 Thanks for getting this video out so quickly.
I have two planners for work- an online planner and an LD teacher planner. I am getting a Portrait for personal use because the one I've been using isn't cutting it.
I like the layout of the portrait much better. Other one was way too big to keep on the desk. I had tried the mini this year, monthly calendar boxes are too small to write in.
Love these planners. Probably going to buy one. Just wish the 12-mo yr at a glance had the months left to rt across the binding. That would make it a little easier to continue goals from month to month. Maybe even 3-months across to plan quarterly.
I’ve been wanting to try out a LD planner for so long but they’re just too expensive. I feel like it’d be the perfect system to help me plan having ADHD. If you ever do a give away I totally want in 😂
I’m really loving the portrait layout, especially how the days line up with the days of the month. It’s going to be so hard to choose! So many cute covers 😍
It is something I've never seen before and never would have thought of! I can't wait to see how everyone uses it and how it works for people;) I love how the weekly days line up with the monthly days;)
Thinking I'll be able to sticker the monthly section like crazy but won't need to worry about bulk! It'll just make it even with the weeks. Wasn't looking to switch ... Sigh. 😂🤣😂
The portrait is amazing!!! I’d love to see how you use it and if you do a giveaway of one (even used!) I’d be so excited!!! If they did a mini portrait it would be OVER
I absolutely love the look of the new portrait planner! Starting to believe I almost have too much time to decide for next year ! Lol! So many different planners that are so tempting! If asked today, I would probably pick Bold Blooms Daily Duo Ring Agenda from EC but if I go with a weekly and a plain notebook for my daily log, that could put the Crowd Favorite Portrait Planner in the running! I guess time will tell!
I am so excited for this release! The mini vertical postage stamp has my name written all over it lol. I’m hoping that the smaller size will encourage me to plan more on the go. Thanks for doing such a thorough review for us, Amanda! 💛
Loved everything you have here, Amanda... New sub here , new to the LD family & a growing RUclipsr in the planner community here..😄. As an International planner , it takes a bit of a time to figure out the logistics. I'm so glad I jumped on this time. I am also hoping to have an unboxing, review & setup on my channel too. Loved that idea for blocking off the weekend. You did an mazing job showing them off too...
I watched this several times; what a lovely video! Last year, after watching your video, I bought the original planner for work. I love the quality and layout of that planner. However, it is a little too much for what I am using this year. I am planning to use the vertical mini planner for health and wellness this year. I think it is perfect for that purpose since it has a habit tracker. I am so glad they came up with the mini vertical version; I thought the original was a little too big.
What do you do with all the extra planners that you don't use? I can only imagine how many planners you end up with every year! lol, how fun would this be to have all of them to try! Thanks for always showing us everything we need to see and know about each planner company!
I have to keep most of them until the year is up- becuase I use them for follow up videos. Comparisons and top 10 videos:) I also use them for answering a lot of questions. Then I gift a lot to friends;)
I bought a clearance 2024 project planner to give LD a try. Have been curious, but less interested in the monthly which seems to be the core philosophy of these planners. The project planner intrigued me because my work tasks are not date specific. So giving it a try. Also excited to see the portrait planner because the wider daily boxes and columns. Would love to get your opinion on how it’s working for you if you choose to use the portrait.
I really like the portrait but does it fit in the folio? I don’t want my folio to go to waste. I love love the patterns and colors. Wish they would make a paper pad, stationary or notecards.
in my opinion no- it doesn't fit. The coil is too big and it is going to bend the coil zipping it in there daily and the zipper could break too over time. It's a tight fit! But some might be okay with using it like that. I will share how it looks in Instagram stories tomorrow;)
OMG The new portrait planner I have been waiting for a normal size planner with all their style! OMG I can't keep buying planners. Love love love. I have to stop watching your videos! LOL , Just kidding, ok I am a planner addict!
They won't work. But you can buy Erin Condren Coil clip connectors off amazon and stick them on your pop-in-panel and then it will hook to the spiral coil...at least I am pretty sure they will work. Here is the link off Amazon: amzn.to/4aDwCXE You might have to do some cutting of the other connection to stick these on.
Maybe a little...but you really need something to match the thickness of the pages on either side...which changes throughout the planner. But I do think on the ends where it is not very thick a writing board would help!
Allow me to put forth the advisory that Homeschool families work beyond M-F, thus a teacher layout does not translate well. I have always whited out M-F dates.
I know this can be the case for some teachers and homeschool families (as I have been both)...but in general I I think most could make it work by turning the to list column into Sat./Sun. But if that doesn't work EC teacher planner has a full sat/sun as do many others:)
You keep saying “OG” and it’s cracking me up because that is slang for “original gangster.” 😉 Wiki: “The term originated in the 1970s with the Original Gangster Crips, a gang based in Los Angeles. The gang used the abbreviation "OG" as shorthand to indicate which part of the gang they were from, such as "Original Eastside Crip" or "OG Eastside". The term's meaning began to change as the gang expanded and new recruits joined.” I just ordered the Mini Weekly and Mini Project planners with some tracking inserts. Very excited to try them out! ✌🏼
LOL!I am always out of it! I was going by a different definition of OG: someone or something that is an original or originator and especially one that is highly respected or regarded. From Merriam-Webster. But I love the fact that it could go either way and I made you laugh. Enjoy your Mini Planners!

Oh, good! I thought it would resonate with people that maybe her original planner didn't work for;)
Those boxes ARE beautiful!
I think so too!

That line up of the days of week with the months is crucial!
The layout on the portrait looks amazing!

I know you were looking forward to that one Kim! I hope it works well for you! I can't wait to hear after you use it in our patreon zoom calls:)
Thanks for getting this up so fast! ❤
You're so welcome!
Wow! I love the portrait, and I love the mini sizes!
They are pretty amazing! I've never seen anything like the Portrait planner before! Thanks for watching:)
I have never clicked on any of your videos faster. It’s such a joy to see those! Beautiful and such great thorough review of them all.
Thank you so much:)
I think the portrait would make a great budget planner
Oh! I didn't even think of that! I do all my bank account and budget online digitally....so my mind just doesn't normally go there;)
Another exciting planner possibility!!
Right?! there are so many good ones!
So excited for my portrait to come in! As always, thank you for the great review and all the ideas! ❤
Of course-enjoy your portrait! 🫶

I fully support whatever you need to do! LOL:)
Love the portrait layout. If there's a 2025 version released, I'll definitely get it.
I am sure if it sells well enough they will have it for Calendar year!
Oooh, Amanda, do you know if Laurel Denise discounts their planners at the turn of the year?
Will the pop-in panels work well in the portrait planner?
They won't work. But you can buy Erin Condren Coil clip connectors off amazon and stick them on your pop-in-panel and then it will hook to the spiral coil...at least I am pretty sure they will work. @@AmandasFavorites Thank you very much!
I wish the weekly pages were at the top😭 my hand needs somewhere to rest while I’m writing. I think that was a total miss.
Well, that's a clever idea! Maybe next time. 🤞
I really hope so!! I hate writing at the bottom of the page haha
That is a very good thought....maybe if she gets enough of this feedback that could be a possibility?!
@vanessasmith9646 I usually put a book under my hand to balance everything out. Lol it's ideal but it does help.
Yes!
I really like the portrait one BUT...do not like the hard cover. I wish the cover was anything but a hard cardboard. The art is amazing!
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts;)
Is there no way to label the boxes of the teacher planner?
There is not...unless you want to use the spot the the end of the weekly for the weekly list... and just label horizontally there.
That coil….🎉
So good!
Sensory overload here.
The video or the planner?
@@AmandasFavorites I’m sorry, the planner. Your videos are always great and comforting.
Wouldn't a writing board help with the bump?
Maybe a little...but you really need something to match the thickness of the pages on either side...which changes throughout the planner. But I do think on the ends where it is not very thick a writing board would help!

15 lesson plans. We work 184 days…Might as well do notes pages. The rest of it is nice, tho!
Thank you for sharing that:)
